Physical Description
Artur dresses fairly simply, befitting a man of the cloth. He wears white robes with gold trim, has a light purple cloth belt around his waist, a blue cloak, and brown boots. He has bright orange eyes and hair, and his hair is fairly short and wavy.
Weapons and Accessories
Artur has two weapons with him upon arrival… though, technically, only one of them is actually a fighting weapon. His weapon is a tome of light magic known as ‘Divine’. Upon use, a pillar of light shoots up and then strikes his foe; it is a decently powerful tome, if a bit on the heavy side. His other ‘weapon’ is a Physic staff, which allows him to heal allies from a distance.
Abilities/Powers
Artur has no special powers; his use of magic is the result of training in the clergy.
Weaknesses
As a Light magic user, Artur has a weakness against Anima magic in terms of the Trinity of Magic. Besides that, he cannot take hits from physical attacks very well.
Skills
Artur comes from a world that had very little in terms of combat skills, but he was one of the few who did have another combat skill.
His Personal Skill is called Stalwart Piety. Its effect is as follows: “When this unit is over 50% health, damage from Light and Anima magic -25%, damage from Dark magic -50%”. Artur is a very steadfast man who always tries to do the right thing, and that strength of will gives him added resistance to magic so long as his vitality holds out.
As a Bishop, Artur also has access to the skill ‘Slayer’, which gives his weapons triple might against monsters. This is a result of his training in holy magic.
Personality
Artur, compared to some of the members of the Renais army, has a much more mellow personality. He is a pious man who takes his duties as a priest very seriously. He is a caring man who does his best to watch over those who need it. He isn’t a stranger to unusual personalities, however, and as such, often comes across as the ‘straight man’ to such people.
He also is very fond of wyverns.
History
Artur grew up in Renais, having a fairly normal childhood. One event, when he was fairly young, helped him decide his path in life; he had lost his only toy, and a monk from the nearby abbey found him crying. The monk spent the whole afternoon helping Artur search for his toy, and Artur’s gratitude at the man’s selfless act lead him to want to be a monk as well.
As he got older, he studied in the clergy, learning how to use light magic, and he grew into a respected and pious man. Following Grado’s invasion of Renais, Artur was dispatched by the abbey to a nearby village, the elders having heard word of ancient horrors returning.
Surely enough, the villages were under attack by monsters; Artur aided Eirika’s group in turning them back (alongside his childhood friend Lute, who also joined Eirika’s group), and he joined her force afterward, fighting to the end of the War of the Stones, befriending a wyvern rider from Grado named Cormag.
Following the end of the war, Artur married Lute, who he had gotten quite a bit closer to during the war, and the two returned to their hometown; Artur began doing mission work helping Grado rebuild at the request of King Ephraim, and things were peaceful… for a time, anyway. Not long after Eirika and Ephraim had gone to investigate an odd happening in Lagdou Ruins, Artur and Lute found something similar in the Tower of Valni...
