Full Name: David Pendleton
Nickname(s): Dr. Pendleton
Age: Early 50's
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 165 lbs.
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alliance: Neutral
Home: Void City
Franchise: Innerdimensional (Original Story)
Physical Description
Dr. Pendleton has a distinctly unremarkable appearance. He's tall, somewhat thin, and has distinctly Polynesian attributes, namely his tan skin, short black hair, and dark brown eyes, which are probably the only distinguishing traits about him in this sea of white nerds. He wears thick-rimmed glasses, a white shirt, a black tie, black pants, black shoes, and a white lab coat.
Weapons and Accessories
He's had a hand in building just about every piece of equipment in the Mexus Center of Modern Technology, but he generally doesn't feel inclined to use any of them personally as weapons or improvements.
Abilities/Powers
None.
Weaknesses
Normal human weaknesses.
Skills
Dr. Pendleton is one of the top scientific minds on Dimensional Island, well knowledged in formal, social and applied science, including engineering, computer science, physics, chemistry, anatomy, biology, mathematics and statistics. If there's some technological achievement that took place on the island rather than being imported from another universe, chances are he had a hand in creating it.
Personality
Dr. Pendleton is a very work-oriented man. He puts his scientific achievements above all else, even emotional attachments, and he is fiercely dedicated to his craft. Naturally, this makes him seem very standoffish, distant and cold, as he's not one to take feelings into account as much as logic. That's not to say he's completely heartless; his primary goal in creating his advanced technology is to improve the lives of the more ordinary citizens of Dimensional Island who lack the powers to fend for themselves. He just cares more about the bigger picture than he does the individual.
History
David Pendleton was born on a version of Earth where magic and the supernatural did not exist. He attended the same university as Cora Michaels, where they both pursued degrees in science and technology. During one of their projects, David, Cora and several other students were caught in a temporary spacetime rift that delivered them to Dimensional Island. Stranded, the group wandered until they found solace in the Mexus Center of Modern Technology, an upstart laboratory in Void City, who offered to help them finish their schooling and obtain careers in their fields.
Throughout their careers, David and Cora frequently clashed, leading Dr. Michaels to leave Mexus and establish her own laboratory. Dr. Pendleton, meanwhile, quickly rose through the ranks and eventually became the head developer at Mexus. He soon met an island native named Megan, whom he married and had one child with, Lydia. As she grew up, Dr. Pendleton played a very minimal part in Lydia's life, spending most of his time in the lab. Any time they did spend together was mostly devoted to him warding his daughter away from the dangers of the supernatural, an argument bolstered by Megan's death in the crossfire of a fight between superpowered residents.
By the time Lydia reached adulthood, she was an accomplished pilot. Dr. Pendleton decided to utilize her skills, hiring her to control Mexus's new submersible pod which they would use in their miniaturization experiments. Once Lydia had been lured in with the promise of a steady paycheck, Dr. Pendleton sent her on various test runs of the shrinking technology, followed by missions designed to keep potentially dangerous residents in check. He's now preparing to send his daughter to bug another suspicious group, unaware that an old friend of his has caught wind of his latest project.
Other
Clearly has some prejudice against the supernatural.
