Abilities/Powers
None.
Weaknesses
She's a normal human with all the typical human physical weaknesses.
Skills
Max prides herself in her journalism skills. She's experienced in interviewing, research, organizing, and writing, and her knowledge of magic, technology, and the supernatural is quite extensive. She has ways to get the information she wants.
Personality
If there's something worth knowing, Max is determined to be the first one to know it. She adores adventure and intrigue, she's fiercely driven to learn and spread what she discovers, and she won't hesitate to squeeze every drop out of any juicy story she can get her hands on. To this end, she's also a bit of a gossip and a busybody, and she can get extremely agitated if she can tell someone is keeping secrets from her. Despite her inquisitive tendencies, though, Max is also self-conscious enough to look after herself and respect others' emotions, and she's not so stubborn that she doesn't realize when she should get out of a self-destructive situation. Sure, she's pedantic, but it's clear that she means well.
History
Max is a native of Void City, growing up surrounded and fascinated by strange, nonhuman beings with fascinating powers and abilities. Despite her mundane nature in comparison, her charisma made her rather popular amongst her peers, which she used to learn every little thing that she could about the various creatures that inhabited the island. Once she had finished school, she became a journalist for The Lacuna Chronicle, devoting herself to reporting on as much supernatural phenomena as she could find.
Sometime after she began her career, Max met pilot Lydia Pendleton to conduct an interview on the Mexus Center of Modern Technology where she worked. A friendship and eventual romance developed from this encounter. Despite their mutual affections, Max constantly worried that Lydia was growing distant and keeping secrets from her, evident in Lydia's worsening alcoholism and depression, to which Max offered emotional support but was constantly shut down. Frustrated with Lydia's refusal to change or be honest with her, as well as her growing suspicion that Lydia was involved with shady business at Mexus, Max broke up with her.
Life's been pretty normal for Max ever since, or at least as normal as things can get on this island. Supernatural phenomena for her to report on, interviews with powerful island residents, research on Mexus to find out what they're up to... Max has more or less fallen back into her old routine, but she'd be lying if she said she was completely over Lydia.
Other
Flaming bisexual.
