"Don't worry about me," Lydia chuckled as she opened her suitcase. She had plenty of food and water packed, but the flask that she unearthed from the bag was empty. As if the Mexus technicians would let her drink during a mission, never mind her dad. "Just help yourself and I'll do the rest. I think I left a bottle of Ginjinha in the engine cylinder. If that's not your thing, I got plenty more in the kitchen."
While Will searched for her liquor, Lydia offered a response to Ryan's concerns, again letting her host voice them for her. "Possibly, yeah. I'd just rather find them first before they can get the jump on us. Besides, it wouldn't hurt to know just who exactly these people are."

"Eh, don't worry, Ryan. We're just gonna try and find them before they find us. 'Sides, knowledge is power, yeah? As for the booze..."
Humming slightly, Will reached for the engine, finding the bottle in question. "One day, I will be smart enough to not make the same mistake over and over again. Today is not that day. Maybe I'll actually think better if I'm a li'l loosened up, too..." The blonde paused. "... Uh, Lydia? You sure it's okay if I have this?"

Ryan slammed a palm into his forehead, with a small "clunk" sound. "What would your brother say?" He grumbled at Will. "Some big secret organization is coming after us and you're getting drunk?" He groaned, walking over to a window and looking out. "Well you go ahead then and I'll try to keep you guys from killing yourselves. Apparently, based on last night I'm incapable of getting properly wasted myself." He noted. "That said, I'm thinking.... what if we set a trap? Found a way to make it obvious where Lydia was and draw them to us? Make them think they're getting the jump on us and then turn it around on them? ...I'm just spitballing here, but if you have any ideas...."

"Um... Maybe that would work? Not sure what sort of trap you'd have in mind, dude." Lydia placed her flask in a small compartment and pushed a button. A door sealed the compartment shut, generating an airy hiss. "These guys are scientists by the sound of it. Wouldn't surprise me if they anticipated us fighting back."
She smirked at her monitor as William picked up her booze. "Yeah, man, go ahead. Just give a big ol' tug on that baby. I can get more."
Then Lydia's smile faded and her playful tone turned somber. "We're gonna drink this one to Jack. A brilliant mind, a great man... and a good friend who tried to save my ass by injecting me into yours."

"To Jack. May God, or Buddha, or whoever's out there guide you, the bastard."
With Lydia's confirmation, Will yanked the cap off the bottle, accidentally tearing off some of the top of it. "Shit. I thought I had my strength under control by this point. Oh well." Finding a part of the top that wasn't jagged, the blonde put it to his lips and took a long drink. "... Okay, not quite what I'm used to, but not bad."
Letting his tone become serious again, William addressed Ryan's concerns and relayed Lydia's words. "We're gonna have to outsmart 'em. They probably know we're settin' a trap, so maybe... we should... not set a trap? Or set a very shitty one and play mindgames? By the one eye of Odin... mindgames aren't my thing..."

Ryan frowned. "....Yeah, fair enough. I don't know much about that either, to be honest." He admitted. "Just a bit of a city guy, don't have much experience with that." Ryan seemed to think hard.
"To be honest, had hoped one of you guys had more experience with setting traps." He grumbled. "Alright so none of us can set traps but still.... Umm.... Damnit!" Ryan sighed. "I'm sorry, I'm just.... trying to think of something. I don't like sitting around doing nothing..." Not while the clock was ticking anyways. "Do you or Lydia have any other plans that aren't getting drunk?" He asked. Pondering. Then...
"...Wait. Didn't your dad say Cora worked with cybernetics?" He asked. "...Well umm... I might... I dunno, I might have something we can work with. But uhh-- Lydia, your pod doesn't have video recording functions does it?" It was a science vessel, of course it did, Ryan thought bitterly, but his secret wasn't worth someone's life, if he could do anything to help.

A cascade of liquor came pouring down William's throat. As Proteus II clung to the wall of his esophagus, a robotic arm extended from the ship, holding Lydia's flask out to catch the downpour of booze. After a few sips on his part, the flask was full, prompting Lydia to retract the arm and seal it back inside the ship. With another hiss, the internal compartment door reopened, allowing her to grab the flask and drink in that sweet, tangy concoction herself. "Ahhhhh... Yeah... That's the good stuff."
She continued to drink as Ryan once again voiced his questions and concerns. "Yeah, I can record stuff. Normally the lab saves whatever the pod records, but they're obviously outta commission. But..." She took a deep breath and ran a hand through her hair. "I dunno. Will, maybe let him know that I need a moment to just not think about that stuff? I kinda wanna relax before we dive head-first into the sh*t again. It's probably the only way I'll stay sane in here."
Chug, chug... A stupid idea crossed her mind.
"When things are at their darkest... it's a brave man who can kick back and party. See that box with all the dials and buttons on the wall next to you? Turn it on. The big square button with the circle on it."

"Hey, hey, Ryan, don't get your lederhosen in a twist," William said, trying to get the point across. "Maybe we'll think about this better if we have a moment of not thinkin' about it... And maybe, just maybe we need a break from this heavy shit. Speakin' of which..."
He stood up, and walked over to where Lydia told him. "Let's see what this does," he said as he pressed the button Lydia had instructed him to.
Once the music started, William's feet started to bounce, followed by his legs...

Ryan paused and then slowly nodded. "...Fair enough. Sorry." Ryan wasn't used to these high pressure situations. It wasn't that he didn't know how to unwind. Just that he didn't know when to unwind. This felt so serious, that if he had suggested it instead of Will or Lydia, he might have felt he was insulting her plight. "Well. Alright then." He admitted. "If it's what you and Lydia think?" Ryan walked over as the music started. He saw William start to move to the music, and even Ryan found his head nodding along to the music as it went. And then bouncing his shoulders in an alternating rhythm.
"Lydia, you've got good taste in music."

Lydia giggled slightly, both at William's building energy and at Ryan's willingness to lighten the mood. Not to mention the song that played the moment her stereo was switched on. Her mother's mixtape always delivered.
Soon enough, William was moving to the upbeat tune, and Lydia was grooving right along with him, bouncing and swaying in her seat. Ryan even seemed to be getting into it, but Will...?
Here's a man in evening clothes How he got here, I don't know, but...
He was jumping all over the place before Lydia even knew what hit her. He was juking and jiving, moving his hips and shoulders, dancing a duet with the robot arm tripod in her living room...
Man, you oughta see him go Twistin' the night away
His erratic movements didn't bother Lydia. She moved right with them, rocking to the beat and the chaotic flow as she made the most of her tiny cabin space. She twisted her hips, bobbed her head, swung her arms, spun around in her chair...
He's dancin' with the chick in slacks She's a-movin' up and back
She took a quick sip from her flask, spun around a few more times, then continued the absolutely dorky dance she had been doing, practically punching the air as she twisted her entire body to the groove and mouthed along to the words.
Oh man, there ain't nothin' like Twistin' the night away

"Whoo!!"
As the song died down, William fell onto a chair, the same goofy grin still on his face, though sounding somewhat out of breath. "I didn't know dancing could be so much fun! Maybe I oughta do this more often... Ha... Y'know... It occurs to me... Actually, two things..." He paused to take another drink. "Couldn't you just get oxygen from my lungs? And... you're seeing parts of my body that I will (hopefully) never see. Liverville... intestine village... Will's one kidney after somebody stole the other..."

Ryan laughed brightly at William's exclamation. "No?! You guys don't have--" Remembering what Percy said about people needing weapons if they went out, or risking dying, he quieted down a bit. "...Well. It is! You should try it more often! Lots of night clubs around here that'd let you really get into it!" He commented, breaking off as William started chatting with Lydia again. "I mean.... I'm sure she's well versed in this from biology textbooks-- I can't imagine they'd send her in there without an intimate understanding of human biology, but... Well. Yeah it's no doubt one thing to read it in a textbook or simulation and probably another entirely to actually experience it."
Beat.
"Why are you missing a kidney, and why am I not surprised?"

"HAHAHAHAAAA... HA HA~!"
Lydia flopped back in her chair, simultaneously laughing and catching her breath as the rush died down but the joy remained. William's comment about the exhilarating experience made her chuckle even more. "Ha...! Yeah...! Tell me, Will... am I the first girl you've ever shared a dance with? Ha ha...!"
She smirked and sunk a little lower into her seat, breathing deeply through her nose as she allowed herself to relax. William asked about her oxygen, specifically whether or not she could just get more from his lungs. Her smile quickly dropped. "If only it was that easy. If I opened the hatch, my pod would more than likely explode from the sudden change in cabin pressure, and I'm pretty sure neither of us want that."
While she took another drink from her flask, Lydia listened somewhat numbly as William expressed his wonder at the fact that she was seeing a side of himself that he couldn't. "Yeah, believe me, you're not missing much. You've seen one pulmonary alveolus, you've seen 'em all. I may be an anatomy and biology expert at this point, but this isn't exactly my ideal final frontier."

"Ehhh... yeah. Probably the only one at this rate," William replied."I've like... only ever been in love with one girl. Pretty sure she's not into me either. Oh well, that's life, ain't it?"
Exhaling, William looked around, finding a picture depicting a fair-skinned, green-eyed, petite blonde woman. "So... who's this lady? Old flame of your's? She's kinda cute, really... Hey Ryan, I vaguely recall seeing someone who looked like this back at the bar, you see her too?"

Ryan walked over with Will. "That's kind of sweet though. I'm sure if she knew about it, she'd find that endearing." He suggested, as he looked at the picture. It looked familiar..... And then William mentioned it. "....You're right. Yes. She wa--"
Oh. Oh. Ohhhhhh......
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait." And there the penny dropped. "Wait you're that Lydia!?" He exclaimed. "The one at the bar last night who--" Oh geeze...
"...Damnit. Maybe I should have walked you home afterall. Maybe I'd have gotten lost on the way to your place and this whole thing coulda been avoided through you being late." He looked at Will. "Unless there are two Lydia's who know this person anyways...." Two Lydias? Sure. Two Lydias that knew this particular person? Significantly less likely.
