"Yes. I do know how sensitive they are! And your father so help me- if you start any fights right now, I will rip them out of their sockets again," Sophi noted as she worked. "I brought you here because they're the only others of our kind besides the loud squawker. And as for that.... I pray that wasn't what I think that was." Sophi was more than a little miffed at Liderc's own actions for the day.

Ranuen rubbed his side as Paul checked on him. "Ow. Yeah, I'm fine. It mostly just winded me." He replied. "Guess I should be glad to have people actually keeping an eye out for me for once." He added to Paul, glancing up at Leanne. "Yeah, you're a fire mage through and through." He admitted at Leanne's rage. "Need a target to vent your anger?" Ranuen asked. He knew fire magic was volatile and intense, and its users tended to be as well. It would not surprise him if Leanne just needed to blast something to ashes right now.
He dimly acknowledged Kelsey's statement with a nod, though he wasn't sure if she saw it. He'd have to think long and hard if he wanted to risk Vutezoth recognizing him, and jeapordizing the group's knowledge of his weak point. He was relieved to see Jordan try to help out, along with Will. "Leanne, if you need to vent, go for it. I doubt anyone here's gonna blame you for what you're gonna say." Possibly a naive statement. Oh well.

"To say the least..." Paul sighed, offering Ranuen some elevation if he so desired.
Kelsey dropped her head into her hand and let out a long, exasperated sigh. Just about everything there was making her frustrated, especially Percy and Leanne. She knew better than to try to psychoanalyze anyone while she herself was under a great deal of stress, and even if she wasn't, she could easily sense that she wasn't going to get any sort of coherent explanation from Leanne while her temper was still so high.
With each new layer to the conversation, Kelsey felt like she had more questions than answers, to the point where aside from tomorrow's dragon hunt, she had no idea what she was supposed to be doing anymore.
"Okay..." Kelsey eventually grunted. "I think we all just need to cool down for a while. Take a moment to process what just-slash-is going to happen."
"Yeah, I gotta agree on that one." Kenny awkwardly ran a hand through his blond mop. "Can't help but feel like we made zero f*cking progress with this little rendezvous. Maybe even negative amounts of progress, if that's possible."
Kelsey slowly nodded with a hard frown. She looked to the side as Tri hovered closer and leaned on her shoulder, whispering something into her ear. Dread briefly flashed across her face before she responded with another nod. Then she looked down at Paul. "Are you okay if I break away for a while? Give myself a moment to think?"
"O-Oh yeah, of course," Paul softly responded. The concern was evident in his face, but he at least seemed to understand Kelsey's mindset. "Do what you gotta do."
Turning back to the others, Kelsey took a deep breath and calmly continued, "Whatever it is we each need to sort out, we'll get there after some serious introspection. I'll be around if anyone needs someone to vent to. I'll drop back in here tomorrow to gather the dragon-hunting party. Anyone who wants in on it, just meet me back here at... let's say three. We can catch up then... Um..." Her eyes flicked back to Paul. "If you could, Paul... maybe stop by my room later tonight?"
Paul's eyes glowed with a deep warmth as he sadly nodded back to her. "No problem."
"Thanks." Then, with her head held low and one hand in her pocket, Kelsey walked over to the door and stepped outside. The last thing anyone saw of her was her flesh-colored wings smoothly extending from her back, and they last thing they heard before the door closed completely was the sound of rushing wind.
"Well, doggoned doofers." The subsequent silence was almost immediately broken by Mic. "That escalated quickly. I mean that really got out of hand fast."
Paul let out a sigh and sat back down next to Mic and Kenny. "She's not wrong. We clearly have a lot of personal issues to deal with before we can even consider what to do about the apocalypse cult."
Mic blinked and turned to Paul with a blank, slightly dopey expression. What was this about an apocalypse cult?
He just as quickly shook himself off and perked back up, remembering the advice dished out so far, including by himself. With an overabundance of pep, Mic jumped out of his seat, hovered in the air a moment, flipped his chair around, then sat down again and leaned his arms on the seat back. His cheerful gaze flicked between Paul, Kenny and Leanne. "Well, if takin' a break is what we're doing, I'll go back to my original proposition! You folks could use a distraction! Something to settle the ol' distress ropes so you can better focus on unraveling the tangled weave in your thought centre! And I'm willing to take a break myself and assist in that catharsis if it means doing you fine fellas a world of good!"
"Part of me is dreading to ask what you find cathartic," Kenny stated with bluntly uncomfortable honesty.
Paul briefly glanced back at the front door. Then he turned to Mic again with an awkward shrug. "Some of your terminology kinda flew over my head there, but I think I get the gist of it. I guess what you're suggesting could be a good idea. So what did you have in mind?"

"Welp. I might as well stay here. I'm not sure about you lot, but I could use a bit of dragon-hunting after this," Jordan stated, patting Leanne's shoulder. "In the mean time, hey, Will, mind if I just take Leanne out for a bit? See if she won't talk to me? Hey, Leanne, would you-"
"Yeah." Leanne looked up from her hat. "I could use a li'l bit of fresh air," she added, getting to her feet. "Will, we'll hopefully be back in time for Jordan's li'l mission. While we're gone, maybe you could fix yer fly?" The tall blonde went red with this, turning away for a moment.
"I'm countin' on ya, Jordan," Will said when he turned around. "I mean, you can't shirk off every responsibility, yeah? You've gotta take on certain duties now that you're almost eighteen, yeah?" Flick to the nose courtesy of Jordan. "Ow!"
"Yeah, I'll look after her, I mean, she was always mum's favourite," the middle child replied. "Well then, we'll be seein' you guys later."
"See y'all in a bit!" And with a light slamming of the door, the two younger Lowe siblings were gone.
"Heh... yeah, he'll be able to get her to talk..." Seeing the looks he was getting, Will elaborated. "Oh, Jordan and Leanne have always been closer to each other than to me. Can't blame 'em, really, what with me being gone a lot." Small chuckle. "So, uh, Lobo? Do you and Loba mind if I stay here for a bit? I'm really not sure what to do, so maybe I could get some guidance?"
"Yeah, sure, just don't eat everything in the fridge this time," Lobo replied, stretching an arm above his head. "Hey, sis, I'm gonna go jog to clear my head. Between the dragon, murderous cult, and complete lack of just what the fuck just happened between those two idiots, maybe a bit of fresh air'll do us all good. Anyways, I'll see you guys in a bit." On his way to the door, Lobo stopped next to Paul. "When ya get a chance, meet me at the abandoned part of the residential district." And with a considerably louder slam, the green-eyed angel was also gone.
"Hmm... what could this all mean...?" Loba asked herself, looking around at the suddenly-quiet room.
---
"I know we're not religious, but- ow, that's the upper-left Achilles fibrous connective tissue band!" Liderc made a weird sound, a cross between a whimper and a moan. "But between whatever the hell they were talking about downstairs, the sudden call to exile me for... for nothing but presumably political reasons..."
There was a screaming sound in the taller angel's head, prompting Liderc to slam his face into his hands. "And this pain in my command locus... maybe... maybe if I... the pain will go away..."

"I'm aware. We'll get something for that once the weather clears," Sophi offered as she finished the last few line connections and started to stitch up Liderc's wing. "And no harming yourself right now. Okay? I need some one to keep me sane. Besides I promised to be the Cell Warden for a game of Cells and Cerubi. We're gonna need your character after all."

Ranuen took up Paul's offer for elevation to observe everything going on. He more than empathized with Kelsey's desire to sort things out straight and easily. As Kelsey stepped out of the room, Ranuen frowned, biting his lip. "Be careful out there, Kelsey." He murmured quietly as she left. Shortly thereafter, Leanne and Jordan also headed out.
The swordsman sighed. "Percy, Leanne, Kelsey, Jordan.... I dunno. I don't like how much we're splitting up right now." He mentioned nervously. Mic tried to lighten the mood, and Ranuen was... more or less okay with that.
"Alright Mic." He commented. "We could definitely do with some lightening of the situation. What is it you're thinking of?" He asked.
With response to Loba's comment, he looked at her. "Well we'll probably find out soon enough. Something big's going down, and something like that can't stay under wraps for too long."

Paul didn't have any input to offer on the Lowe siblings' discussion. All things considered, what they ultimately decided on was probably for the best. As Jordan and Leanne stepped out, Paul offered the duo a wave. "You guys take care."
"Don't die out there!" Kenny lightheardedly tossed in. "Seriously, it's a b*tch to go through!"
With the number of heads in the room ever decreasing, Paul turned back to Will and Lobo, offering both men a gentle smile. "Hey, whatever it takes to diffuse the tension. We'll figure things out in due time, even if it's in individual chunks. We got enough people here to tackle every obstacle presented so far."
He watched Lobo pass by with a calm grin. Then his face took on an air of confusion and concern when the angel whispered one last set of instructions to him. Paul continued to stare at Lobo over his shoulder, but he was already out the door before Paul could so much as question why Lobo needed him.
The dragon man let out a deep sigh and faced forward again. Just one more thing to sort out. Like the others, he was willing not to fret too much about it for now and let things come about naturally. Hearing Ranuen's comment to Loba, Paul warmly stared back at her and nodded. "Evil always presents itself eventually. We just have to be ready when it does." His mouth twisted slightly into an awkward, empathetic frown. "Sorry we're ally kinda leaving ya. Hope everything goes alright with your... other brother."
"He's been through a lot recently," Mic stated sadly. "I'm trusting you and Sophi to take good care of him, alright?"
Mic then straightened back up and let his mile-wide smile spread across his face again. "Buuuuut in the meantime, we're gonna have some fun today! I don't suppose you fine folks would happen to know of any nearby interconnected shopping precincts, would you?!"
It took Paul a few seconds to deduce what Mic was referring to. Once he did, he found himself quickly on board with the proposition.
