Ryan blinked as Will turned and abruptly tried to flee. "Uhh.... Right then. Try.... not to get kidnapped again Will okay? We'll... We'll follow our leads, okay?" He suggested. Ryan, although caught off guard, realized why Will had fled. Lydia was telling something. Did we mess up? Well. Will had been kidnapped. So yes. Yes, they'd messed up. But had they messed up since retrieving him? What could it have been? Ryan puzzled over that. Or perhaps Lydia herself had figured something out and was bringing Will in on it? He supposed Will wouldn't have been able to say anything? Well, then again, he could say he learned something from his kidnapper but still. Will wasn't great at thinking up lies on the fly, Ryan had realized.
And he admitted, he wasn't that amazing at it either, though better than Will. Though it seemed that was a low bar to jump.
"Scrying spell, Rio? Hmm... Maybe. But why don't we check out Max's lead first. If that turns up nothing, maybe we can try that option then?" Ryan, afterall, knew exactly where a scrying spell would lead them. He needed to buy at least some time. For Lydia's sake if for no other reason. She didn't want Max to know about this. Percy didn't know either, though he knew more than the others. Wrong information anyways. "Anyways, Percy, it's fine. I dunno if you wanna check up on Will, or come with us. Your call here, man."

"Dammit, dammit, dammit..." Lydia was rocking in her chair, head in her hand as she tried to put a lid on her anxiety. Seeing Will walk away from the group honestly wasn't helping, nor was the rapid, echoing thud of his heartbeat like someone was banging a timpani right outside her pod. "Too close for comfort. Way, way to close for comfort."
Without even realizing she was doing it at first, she reached into her suitcase and grabbed her flask. Touching the empty bottle to her lips snapped her out of this brief stupor, prompting her to lean against her knees and let out a low groan. "I'd sell my G** damn soul for just one Navy Grog..."
After a deep breath, Lydia quickly reminded herself that she wasn't going to get out of here any faster or less awkwardly just sitting around and feeling sorry for herself. Given her influence was limited to only one person, and seeing as how she couldn't do much else, she opted to buck up and once again assert that influence. "Will, come on, we can't keep making Ryan our mouthpiece. I can't say I trust Max or Percy to decline Rio's help, so if you want this lunacy to end, turn your butt around and tell that mage we don't need...!"
...........................
Wait...
Wait...
Lydia sat straight up and stared utterly bewildered out her window at the sky of tissue beyond.
"Lunacy... Lunar... LunArc..."

"W...! Hey! Will!" Max turned around and watched Will walk away, very visibly annoyed by his second display of uneasiness and avoidance, especially in the face of what was actually a really great idea. With an agitated groan, she slowly turned back around, eyeing Percy and Ryan. "Is he always like this?"
"I really don't think he should be on his own like that..." Rio murmured, rocking on his heels like he wanted to chase after Will. "Not when we're still not a hundred percent certain we're out of the clear."
"Yeah..." As she began leading the group in a brisk walk in William's direction, Max offered Percy a look of confusion and concern, directed seemingly at both his question and Percy himself. "What... like... schizophrenia? Th-That's the only explanation I could come up with."
"Can't say I know for sure what he's referring to either," Rio sighed with a shrug. "Again, so long as I'm offering to work my magic, I could cast a disease-detecting spell if you really want me to."
Max couldn't help but let out a stiff, somewhat morbid chuckle. "I don't think there's any explanation for this guy." Then she glanced between Rio and Ryan, directing her voice at the latter while jabbing a thumb at the former. "Honestly, though, so long as it's available, I'd be willing to take the route that's more than likely to give us a surefire answer."

"Well, I'll let you scry him with whatever. Just... lemme go grab him first..." Percy shot an apologetic grin towards Max. "Once again, I am sorry about Will. He's usually not like this... Be back in a few minutes..." With that, the brunette went in the direction of the apparently-schizophrenic blonde...
---
"Um, am I not also a mouth piece? I mean, you can't really communicate outside of me, so..." Will tried to get a word in, but it seemed as though Lydia wasn't listening, and to be frank, he did agree, he wanted this lunacy over with too. But it seemed as though Lydia had some kind of realization.
"... Hang on... You said something about a Stone back at your apartment? And you freaked out at apparently green asshole birdy's partner apparently being named Mr. Stone? ... Please tell me you aren't thinking the same thing I'm think-"
"Heya Will!" As usual, Percy had the world's worst timing. Will visibly jumped and turned around, likely with at least ten years scared off his life.
"GAAH!! Don't do that!!"

"Okay, good... Tell him to send Rio home! Our party's already big enough without him!"
Lydia said nothing more on the matter for the time being. Puzzle pieces were falling into place, but now was not the time to discuss them. Now was the time to get rid of a mage whose presence would only further complicate an already contrived situation.

Max just nodded somewhat uncomfortably back at Percy as he took off ahead of them to talk to Will. She then turned her attention on the blond, frowning disapprovingly at the back of his head.
Rio tugged at his collar, his expression twisting into an awkward grimace. "Maybe it's just me, but I get the feeling I'm not wanted here."
"No, please, you've helped us out so much. I know I would certainly appreciate having you on board for this search," Max politely insisted. Her next statement was loud and heavily emphasized, enough for William to hear from several feet away. "Personally, I think it would be crazy to turn down a mage's help! Especially since you were so kind as to save my friend's life!"

"Uh, no!" By this point, Will was sweating nervously. "I am highly distrusting of magic of all sorts! Call it arbitrary skepticism, but I've made it to nineteen- and hopefully twenty soon!"
"Uh, Will, Leanne and I can do magic, Jordan has that lifeforce-draining power, hell, can't you kinda do magic, and I'd even call that sword of your's m- MMPH!" Hand to the mouth for Percy.
"Oh dear, Percy must have caught the same fever I have. That, or he's finally succumbed to being a complete and utter idiot," Will said, this time dragging Percy. "Please ignore him, he has very little in the way of a brain-to-mouth filter, but do take it easy on him, the poor guy never learned how to read." Nervous chuckle. "So uh, Rio, yes? Certainly your companions must be causing some sort of commotion downstream, yes? Well, as the sensible one, certainly you should go keep them in check, yes?"
"Mpppph."
"Mind your language, Percy. You should know by now."
"MMMMPH!"
"Trust me, Percy. Given the legal opportunity, I would kill you for that remark about my mother."

Ryan looked between Max, Rio and Percy. Will's frantic flailing was... embarrassing, and Ryan placed a hand to his face. "I.... ugh.... Will?" He interjected. Obviously Lydia did not want her situation to be found out. "I mean, that's true about Percy. Guy actually doesn't know how to read." He remarked. "But aside from that, Rio?" He glanced over at the mage. "You've been a huge help. I want to thank you for that." He said, extending a hand to the mage as if in a handshake. "Was great to get a chance to meet you. Seems Will's a little sensitive about magic though, it seems. I don't suppose there's any alternatives are there?" He offered.

Max looked between the assembled party members, utterly flabbergasted by the lack of common sense being displayed here, especially in William's case. "Guys...!"
"No, no, it's okay..." Rio insisted, hands raised, smile bashful and empathetic. "My presence can be a bit overwhelming, I've noticed. Seems to me like Percy can handle himself well, and I can assume the rest of you aren't too far behind. If you guys think you have this under control, if you don't want my help, all you have to do is say so."

"We, uh, can handle this! Percy please stop licking my hand. I hope your companions haven't destroyed something or each other yet!" Will waved goodbye to Rio using his free hand. "But should we cross the threshold, maybe one of my... uh, friends can call upon you? Seriously Percy knock it off."
Lydia could definitely feel his heart pounding, he was sure of that. At least nobody else would pick up the nervous sweating through his clothes, yes? A life is in danger, yes, but I'm not entirely sure how long I can keep this facade up...
"Mphhh... gah!" Once Will was sure Rio was gone, he released Percy, the brunette gasping for air. "What the hell was that for, Will?!"
"Well, that was partially due to that remark you made about my mother..."

Ryan also appeared very unhappy about completely refuting Rio's help and sending him home. He turned his head to look at Will with a frown on his face. "You sure about this Will? This is what your gut instinct, that small inner voice is telling you?" He inquired of the man. He personally didn't see any issues with Rio helping them as long as he didn't try to scry Lydia's direct location. He made sure to look directly at Will. "Given the circumstances..." He sighed, angrily. "...I'm going to see if I can get any leads at all. Rio, what's the story behind that totaled car back there. That your doing?" He asked, desperate for anything he could. "Or rather.... the green guy's doing?" He asked. Maybe if Will was really not wanting Rio around, Ryan could work with him apart from Will? He didn't want to alienate help, only to call on him like he was some tool.
As a cyborg, Ryan had some reservations about being treated as a tool.

"A bit on the nose there, Ryan..." Lydia sighed, regarding the young man's comment about William's inner voice.

Rio smirked calmly and nodded to William. "It's fine. Glad I could at least help you get your feet on the ground again."
With a deep breath, he turned to Ryan and nodded again in conformation. "Yeah, that car... The green winged man and his suited accomplice were transporting Will in it. We took it down, but... while I can't say for certain the man in the suit is out of the picture, we know for certain the winged man got out. My teammates are dealing with him now. Bearing that in mind, I probably should make sure they don't have their paws full."
Rio then turned and began to walk away, grinning at the team over his shoulder. "Seriously, though, I think Cat and Mickey have taken a liking to you lot as well. If you ever need the Trio of Three's help again, you can usually find our van around these parts. Hope your search for your friend goes well. Maybe don't go looking for trouble in the meantime."
"Hey, trouble kinda came to us," Max chuckled morbidly as she waved the mage off. "Thanks again! We'll definitely stop by if we change our minds!"
Once Rio was well out of ear shot, Max whipped around and marched over to William, a prominent scowl on her face. "Alright, what the hell was that about?! We had the chance to find out where Lydia's being held and get her back without a hitch and you just let it walk away?! You honestly think I'm more qualified to fight for her than a mage?!"

"Whoa, easy, let's not break the guy with the glasses, we tend to not be the most beefy guys around." As Max began to march on him, Will found himself backing away, looking for something to climb on should it come to that. "L-Listen! We think we have at least an inkling as to what happened, and I dunno, hey Ryan you got any leads? I heard a name in that trunk, maybe that's a clue? Look!"
"Will, you're scaring me. This is almost completely out of character for you." Percy began to walk behind Max, muttering an "excuse me" as he passed her by. "You seriously need to lie down and get that fever of your's looked at again."
"I've had to deal with hostage situations before," Will said. "In my experience, most hostage-takers don't like to actually hurt their captive. Call it Lima syndrome, or pragmatism, or whatever. So, we're gonna do some more digging around to see if we can't confirm it. We're gonna see if we can't lie low for a few hours and see if that helps us think a bit more."
This guy, thinking? Well, it was nice knowing whoever you're so concerned about.
"Shut up, Imago."

Ryan looked at Will and shook his head. "I'll go and check out the car." He told Will. He was clearly equally displeased with the decision to dismiss Rio. "Good luck, Will." He stated, knowing that Will was about to be grilled, and he wasn't comfortable covering up Will's shoddy lies anymore. There were unfortunately, limits to how far he'd be able to go. Ryan turned around and lightly jogged back in the direction of the wreck of the car. Well. By lightly jogged, Ryan was actually doing what would be a sprint by normal human standards, allowing him to reach the vehicle in a fairly short period of time. Ryan walked around the vehicle, taking pictures with his eye, recording any information he could. License plate? Check. Make of vehicle? Check. Hmm.... what was inside?
Ryan tried to open the door and investigate the vehicle's interior, opening glove compartments, checking under seats... anything he could think of to try and find anything he could follow.
