Full Name: Imago
Nicknames: N/A
Apparent Age: 16 (due to host body)
Actual Age: ~14,000
Height: 168 cm/~5’6’’ (Body. Life height unknown)
Weight: 50 kg/~110 pounds (Body. Life weight unknown)
Gender: Male
Race: Demon (Ira class). Now fully controlling an ambiguously human vessel.
Alliance: Malebolge and the Inferno
Home: Inferno (former)
Franchise: Starless Skies (Nemesis)
Physical Description
Imago, now in full control of Percy’s body, looks mostly identical to the human; skinny, on the shorter side, pointed ears, and messy brown hair with two long strands up top. His right eye has turned red with a slit pupil, and on his cheeks, he has two red markings. He wears a damaged version of Percy’s old outfit; a long red coat with a hood and the right sleeve torn off, exaggerated orange lapels, a v-neck, faded orange shirt; faded blue gloves, purple gauntlets, off-white pants with purple straps on the knees and ankles, a dark grey segmented overskirt, and a purple belt with a bronze buckle. His left eye is missing, covered by his hair; in the empty socket rests a red, glowing, ethereal orb.
Weapons and Accessories
Imago has access to limited shapeshifting powers, and can, with some strain and focus, summon a pair of jagged, semi-solid wings, black sans for some stars and galaxies. He can also summon the weapon he used in his old body- a pitch-black, obsidian-tipped whip.
Abilities/Powers
Imago has increased strength and durability, an increased healing factor, the ability to summon his old whip, and some shapeshifting powers. He also has access to both shadow and non-elemental magic.
Some of Imago’s old demonic powers are resurfacing, such as the ability to travel through shadows as a shadow himself, night vision, and the ability to tear souls out of dying and recently-deceased bodies.
As a side effect of using Percy’s body, Imago may sometimes transform fully into a Protostar Beast. Mercifully, Imago will fully keep his mind when these transformations occur.
Weaknesses
Imago is using Percy’s body, and is thus is vulnerable to anti-angel, anti-demon, AND anti-human weaponry and magic, although in the case of the former two, not to the extent of a full one. As his shapeshifting shifts material from one part to another, the donor region is vulnerable for the extent of the transformation.
Imago’s own anger can cloud his judgement, and his vanity and pride are his own worst enemies.
Skills
Imago is cunning and sly in a fight, believing that any “fair rights” are pointless. While he is fully capable of fighting fair, he much prefers not to, this aspect even leaking into Percy’s own fighting style. Aside from fighting, he can read the daemon script, in addition to several old Earth languages fluently.
Personality
Imago projects an image of strength and pride, and comes off as arrogant to those who speak with him. He has a sharp tongue and a great disdain for those he absolutely loathes, but he is also an honest individual that cannot tell a lie. However, those who incur Imago’s wrath often have abruptly shortened lifespans. When particularly enraged, Imago cannot be reasoned with, and will devote all of his energy into ending the perpetrator. That being said, he won’t hesitate to tell you if you’ve impressed him, and can be contemplative and even wise.
History
Imago was the oldest of three surviving siblings in a brood, and hatched several thousand years before the Undoing. He often acted as a second father to his siblings, Hercules and Phausis, and encouraged them to become soldiers like him. He became a member of an elite fighting squad, the Malebranche, acting as their thirteenth member. When the Undoing broke out, Imago went out to fight for his king, but the family was split.
The youngest brother, Phausis, would side with the angels, which lead to a falling-out between Imago and Phausis. After the war, before the demons were to be sealed away, Imago got into a physical fight with Phausis, leaving his youngest brother with a nasty wound… Before following the new queen, Malebolge, and his remaining brother into what became known as the Inferno. Over the millennia, Imago whipped the army back into shape even as his brother retired from the job, although they remained close. One day, Malebolge instructed him to exit through the gap, and to find a way to enter the blood-bonded family…
Arriving in Purgatorio, the post-Undoing Earth, Imago was able to befriend a woman named Susan, and her boyfriend and later husband, Alfred. He served as Alfred’s best man at the wedding, and was considered his brother. Eventually, Susan was to bare a child… The next on the blood-bonded family Malebolge had told him to infiltrate…
However, Susan was to die in childbirth while Alfred was out, leaving Imago to watch the infant, Percy. Alfred would later perish in a mysterious accident, and when something invaded the family’s house, Imago fought off the attackers, but was badly wounded and near death. He realized then, a way to infiltrate the line…
Mort Isaac, an old friend of Alfred, showed up at the destroyed house, and found the infant with the markings and pointed ears. Imago had chosen to sacrifice his physical form and bonded with Percy at the soul, giving the child the red marking.
Imago tried to stay quiet throughout this, but quietly used his lingering powers to keep Percy alive. Eventually, Percy became aware of Imago’s existence, to the boy’s displeasure. Several times, on more dangerous missions, Imago was forced to take control of Percy.
In the present, Percy and several others were called to Mort’s office, and told to jump into a portal. Feeling that this related to his mission from Malebolge, Imago is prepared to control Percy if needed…
When the forces of Paradiso invaded the island, Imago took control of Percy’s body to give them advice after their first fight. Afterwards, he let Tri in on his plans, swearing secrecy on Tri’s own plans.
When Percy reverted for a second time and ran away, he wound up in a dead version of the island, where he was attacked, losing his soul to an invisible monster. With the landlord gone, Imago assumed direct control. All according to plan.
Other
Doesn’t have his real body. May possibly be looking for a way to fix that.
Spell list: Moonrise, Lunar Chant, Unlucky Melody, Hades's Gift, Corrupting Burst, Shadow Mania, Demonic Wrath, Shot in the Dark, Great Burst, Bind, Bishop, Song of Sorrow, See Soul.
