Full Name: Hayato
Nickname(s): N/A
Age: 15
Height: Short
Weight: Light
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alliance: Good
Home: Wind Tribe Territory, Hoshido
Franchise: Fire Emblem (Fates)
Physical Description
Hayato is… in a word, short. He shows his age at a glance. He has light brown hair, grey eyes, and wears a light outfit fitting a Diviner, a shoulder-less blue top with brass bracelets around his wrists, a headband, ceremonial black pants, and sandals.
Weapons and Accessories
Upon arrival to the island, Hayato has two weapons with him; a Horse Spirit scroll, which boosts his Skill, Speed, Defense, and Resistance by 3 each while equipped, but is somewhat weak in damage and otherwise unremarkable; and a Sheep Spirit scroll, which only boosts his Defense and Resistance by 1 while equipped, but can be used to heal his wounds.
He also, shortly after arriving, found a Beaststone, which can be used by a Kitsune or Wolfskin to transform and boosts their combat capabilities.
Abilities/Powers
Hayato has a great aptitude for magic, especially magic involving communal with spirits. He has several combat skills, though only one of them could really be considered a ‘power’. Future Sight, a skill that Diviners like him can learn, gives him a chance to get greater insight from a battle he starts, at Lck%, he can get double the experience from a battle that he starts and finishes by felling his enemy.
Weaknesses
Hayato cannot take physical hits very well. He also has quite a few insecurities and fears that could be taken advantage of, such as a fear of the dark and the supernatural. These can render his mind unstable and cripple his ability to focus enough to cast spells.
Skills
Hayato’s other combat skills manifest in a few different ways.
His Personal Skill, Pride, boosts his capability when he’s fighting someone more experienced than he is; when battling someone whose level is higher than his, he gets +4 to the damage he deals.
Magic +2 is very straightforward. Through use of divination techniques, Hayato boosts his magical capability.
Finally, though he doesn’t remember learning it, he knows Seal Resistance, which allows him to weaken an opponent’s magical resistance by 6 following a battle. His spells can crack an opponent’s resistance, making them more vulnerable.
He is a decent cook, though his Simple style is something that has more appeal to children than anything else.
Personality
Hayato is the kind of person who has a lot to prove. He hates being seen as a child, and has a great fear of inadequacy, both as a person and as a Diviner. He tends to act in a way that seems stiff and formal, owing to his desire to live up to the title of the most powerful Diviner in the Wind Tribe, and he tends to look down on childish things. As such, he considers the sweet tooth that he has to be disgraceful.
He does, however, have a vast curiosity of the world around him, and learning new things is a source of great excitement for him. As such, he welcomes challenges and is a hard worker.
History
Hayato was born into the Wind Tribe, though his parents passed away shortly after. Due to his friendship with Hayato’s parents, the Wind Chief, Fuga, took him in and raised him as his own.
Hayato had a relatively uneventful childhood, though his magical potential meant that he was constantly studying the Diviner’s arts. Eventually, however, a small force from Hoshido came through the Wind Tribe’s territory, and upon clearing Fuga’s challenge, Fuga insisted that Corrin take Hayato with him, so he could have his ability tempered by real-world experience.
When he was convinced that Hayato wasn’t an ordinary child, Corrin took him into his force, and Hayato took part in the battles leading to Castle Krakenburg, helping put an end to the conflict between the countries.
Running concurrently to the above...
When Nohr’s invasion force went through the Wind Tribe territory, Hayato was among the group battling to test Corrinne’s force’s worth. Hayato was defeated by the manakete, but he and the others survived the battle. Hayato remained in the Wind Tribe’s lands following the end of the conflict, and lived a relatively happy life afterward, due to Nohr’s invasion doing very little to his people’s lands.
However…
...Very little changed for Hayato in the other timelines. He fought alongside Corrin when Hoshido brought their force against Nohr, and against Corrinne when her forces invaded, though he did not personally meet with the other twin in either case.
Finally…
When the twins went through the Wind Tribe’s lands, Hayato was among those who battled their force for Fuga’s challenge. Upon seeing the sincerity of their words, Fuga was going to offer his support, though Hayato volunteered himself to aid them. As such, he traveled with the two through the lands, eventually diving into the Bottomless Canyon, and into a new world beyond...
