"... Okay, it's getting colder." Corrinne shivered, wrapping her tattered cape around her bare legs. Armour wasn't much of an insulator. "Or is it just me?"
"No, it's not just you." Even if Kaze was feeling cold, he didn't show it. He stood at the front of the group, staring at the door, marked with a 41. "Keep your guard up. I can't hear anything behind this door."
"I'm worried about our staff situation." Felicia shot a concerned look at the Mend staff she carried. "If these break, we'll be stuck with the long-range staffs. And you know those don't heal nearly as much..."
"Duly noted." Corrinne sighed, placing a palm on the door. "Is everyone ready? Might as well get this over with..."

"...41, huh? 50 seems like a nice even number..." Corrin exhaled softly, before readying Yato. "Let's just hope that that's as far as this goes."
"Seems as though things are being changed up somewhat," Jakob said, grasping his dagger. "Look. Sky Knights."
"Cavaliers, too." Azura frowned as she looked over the room. "Some have swords, some have lances. Be careful."
"Let's go!" Nodding to Corrinne, Corrin stepped up to the nearest Cavalier with a sword, striking it with a swing from his blade. Jakob's follow-up attack felled the rider.

"Silas! Ready?" With a nod, Corrinne jumped onto the back of Silas's horse. When the Paladin got close to another Cavalier, Corrinne jumped off, and narrowly avoiding the ceiling, whipped open her Disrobing Gale, knocking a Sky Knight into Kaze's range...
Rather than respond with his usual shuriken, the ninja pulled out the sword he had taken from the last floors. It felt light in his hands, and blocked the naginata coming at him without the usual difficulty of swords. With a grunt, Kaze broke past it, slicing through the spectral rider. These don't seem to take the usual weapon matchups into consideration, he noted.
"50 does sound good..." Felicia commented, keeping her eye on a Cavalier with a lance. "But I have this nagging feeling at the back of my head."

"Let's go!" Silas continued his charge as Corrinne jumped off, impaling a sword-wielding Cavalier with his lance. "All right; not bad."
Jakob flung his Barb Shuriken at the Cavalier that Felicia was watching, nodding at Kaze. ""It's a very uniquely built weapon. I'm glad we have something like it, though. It's another answer for lance-wielders."
Corrin had sheathed Yato and was using his Dual Katana to fight another Sky Knight. ""At least we don't need to worry about the cold while fighting, right?"
Their opponents were starting to get stronger, though. He certainly wasn't having as easy a time as he would have before.

"Ah, let's hurry! Jakob, Azura! Let's get down to the next floor!" Corrinne blasted a Sky Knight out of her way with her Disrobing Gale, motioning for the butler and songstress to follow her. Once they were on the other side, the manakete nodded to Corrin. "It'll be faster if we start on the next floor!" And then they were gone.
"I believe they have the right idea." Kaze waited for Felicia to toss a Flame Shuriken, slicing the offending Cavalier down. "We can't waste time. For all we know..." The ninja cut himself off at that thought.
"Let's, uh, try to stay optimistic! Right? Ah, Lord Corrin, look out!" Felicia tossed a second shuriken at the final enemy in the room, a Sky Knight.

Floor 42 had gone by without much issue; as suspected, they were facing mixed groups of enemies by this point. Corrin lead the way into Floor 43...
[Pit of 100 Trials: Floor 43]
"Well, that wasn't so... bad.." As he saw the nearest enemy, his eyes widened. "Good lord!"
A Fighter was brandishing a truly ridiculous-looking axe in his direction. Gripped by a handle seemingly built into the weapon, the axe was very large; Corrin had never seen one that size. Drawing Yato, the manakete was extremely wary of the imposing weapon.
".......Well then." Azura could only raise an eyebrow at the sight. "It seems that they're going all-out on the unusual weapons this time around..."

Behind the Fighter with the truly oversized axe (probably compensating for something) was a Spear Fighter, seemingly not wielding a weapon. A second glance, however, revealed an absurdly undersized lance. "Look at this. That's not a weapon, that's a toy." Sighing, she drew her Yato, evading the Fighter...
KCH!!
"Not a joke! Not a joke!"
As the Imposing Axe was brought down, Kaze drew the Brave Sword, intercepting. While it did block lances better than normal blades, it wasn't as good at handling axes, he noted. He let the axe blade go, dodging the return strike.
"Hang on, Jakob... Do you sense a staff in here?" Felicia tossed a Flame Shuriken at the Fighter, looking out for the source...

"I do. I think I see it, too." Jakob nodded, before shouting, pointing outward. "Lord Corrin! Shrine Maiden on your ten!"
"I see 'em!" Grasping his Dragonstone, Corrin transformed, charging past the Spear Fighter and slamming his tail down on the Maiden. As the Vallite dissipated into water, the staff they were holding went flying, and Corrin caught it as he transformed back. "...What kind of staff is this?"
[Obtained a Glass Staff!]
Silas evaded an attack from the Fighter with relative ease... he figured it was because the small size made it hard to actually land hits. "Dunno, but- rrgh!" He thrust his lance forward, felling the Spear Fighter... and the tiny weapon dropped to the ground. "Seriously? Regardless, it's a staff. We can probably use it."
[Obtained a Miniature Lance!]
With a nod, Corrin hurried back, raising the staff up towards his twin. "Here, let's give it a try..."

Shaking her head, Corrinne put away Yato, whipping out the Disrobing Gale. She blasted away the Fighter, slamming it into the wall, the absurdly oversized axe remaining. "... Seriously? I'm not taking that."
"Seems to be a rather potent staff," Felicia noted, before something in the dark caught her attention, tossing a shuriken as Kaze moved to attack up-close...

A Ninja was revealed as the two struck, what looked like a candelabrum went flying from the Vallite's hands, clattering to the ground, the candles still somehow burning despite that.
[Obtained a Votive Candle!]
Jakob was about to say something when he was interrupted by Azura's voice. The Songstress sounded unusually frustrated.
"This is... growing... tiresome!" She had been attacked by a Mercenary wielding what looked like a sword with a snake wrapped around it, and the two were dueling without either side making much headway, as their weapons were healing their wounds.
"Allow me to assist!" Jakob turned, throwing his Barb Shuriken; as the Mercenary staggered, Azura plunged her lance into the Vallite's chest, brushing some hair from her face with a huff as the sword clattered to the ground.
"...Thank you. What an unusual sword..."

"Hmm, have I seen this before?" Felicia picked up the candle, only to be startled by a burst of flames. Acting on impulse, she tossed the candle in the direction of the flames.
A Dark Mage was struck, and Corrinne followed up Felicia's impromptu strike with a blast from her Disrobing Gale. A tome fell to the ground. The manakete looked down. "... It's not worth it. That tome doesn't have a ton of magic left in it. That being said..."
Corrinne fired the last two charges of the Dying Blaze down the stairs, briefly seeing their contents...

"Guess this'll help with our staff issue, at least a little," Corrin said, turning and looking down the stairs. As Corrinne's spell illuminated the room below, the manakete frowned. "Dual weapons. Guess I shouldn't be surprised. Everyone, form up. We're getting through this!"
"Right behind you, milord." Jakob prepared his shuriken, eyes steely as the group went down to the next room.

Silas nodded to Kaze, before moving into Guard Stance with the Master Ninja. "I've got your back, Kaze. That special sword of yours should be pretty helpful here."

Seeing the weapons, Corrinne put away her tome, taking out her dragonstone. "I'm not sure if these are normal Fighters and the like. Look at them- that's a Berserker's stance." Indeed, the axe-user in question was holding himself more closely to the class in question. "Corrin, we'll go in with Kaze. Best to be neutral to everything." Beat. "... The floor's solid in here, right?"
Kaze nodded at Silas in thanks, before scanning the floor. "... No. It seems solid in here." He drew the Brave Sword, waiting for the Fighter to attack him. "Mind yourselves."
Felicia kept to the back, holding the Votive Candle. She paused for a moment, before applying the Flame Shuriken to the candelabra. Around the maid came a circle of light. "In case the torch starts to run out, we've got this."

Corrin nodded as he shifted forms, staying near the front of the group. Lashing out his tail, he staggered one of the Fighters, glancing around the room. "You're right. It's odd... but it makes sense that they're getting stronger as we get further down. It's probably only going to get more difficult from here."
Azura stayed behind the frontline, though close enough that she could still passively heal their wounds. "Then it's even more important that we be cautious. I can help keep you all healthy, at the least.
Their enemies were definitely getting stronger, she thought. The axe strike that followed Corrin's attack had staggered the manakete more than she had initially expected.

"Hey! Nobody beats on Corrin except me!"
When the fighter struck Corrin, Corrinne jumped into action, jumping as high as the ceiling would allow her to, slamming down onto the offending axe-fighter with her heavy body, killing it at once. Felica winced slightly at the display; don't get on her bad side.
With Silas covering him, Kaze swung the Brave Sword, clashing against a Dual Katana, wielded by a Samurai that held itself like a Swordmaster. "These are not normal enemies... Look. Look around. Felicia, if you would?"
Nodding, the maid held up the lit candle, shedding light throughout the room. An Archer with a Sniper's stance, aiming a Dual Yumi. A Knight that held itself like a General, Dual Naginata at the ready. A shabbily-dressed Outlaw with a Dual Shuriken...
