"Mmph..."
Inside, Evan found an impeccably tidy room. Everything had been reorganized, put away, and thoroughly cleaned, leaving not one remnant of his days spent sick. The curtains were pulled shut. The right bedside lamp was on. The sheets had been put back on the bed, and Swift was curled up peacefully atop said bed.
Her ear twitched and her eyes cracked open when she heard the door. It took a moment of squinting for her eyes to adjust to the overhead lights, but once they had, Swift quickly craned her neck to look up and smile at Evan despite her apparent drowsiness. "Hey."

"Oh! Hey..." Evan was taken aback slightly, hunching up with embarrassment and awkwardly staring down at Swift. It didn't really occur to him that she might be in there. Why it didn't occur to him, he couldn't say. This was her room too, after all. "I-I'm sorry. Did I wake you?"

"Hah... Yeah, but it's okay..." Swift murmured, sitting up, stretching, and pausing to let out a big yawn. "I was trying to stay awake best I could. I wanted to talk to ya."

"Um... Okay?"
This didn't bode well. Part of him knew that he was being overly self-conscious, but nonetheless, Evan remained silently wary of whatever awkward wrench was still wedged between him and Swift.
He fully stepped into the bedroom, closed the door behind him, and switched the light back off, leaving the bedside lamp as the sole source of soft light. He then slowly meandered over to his side of the bed, standing a good two or three feet away, hands in his pockets, eyes looking everywhere except directly at Swift. "What did you... wanna... talk about?"

Swift couldn't help but smirk at her boyfriend's reluctance. Sure, she couldn't act like she didn't understand why he was keeping his distance, but his dorky awkwardness was as cute as ever. She'd gotten over herself well enough by then. Now was the time to assure Evan that things hadn't changed as much as he thought. "Well, first question: Are you gonna sit down or what?"

"..........................."
Evan's wide eyes met Swift's, clearly surprised by her insistence. After every encounter they'd had following his spontaneous bulk change, he had honestly expected to continue the wait for his eventual restoration in privacy. He hadn't anticipated an outright invitation into Swift's personal space. Her willingness to get that close to him was one thing, but considering the fact that she was lying on the bed, something else started to occur to him.
"Were you... planning on sleeping in here tonight?"

"Of course! Why not?" Swift happily answered, smiling up at Evan. "I'm tired, sore, and quite frankly sick of the pullout. I figured I'd need an actual decent night's sleep in my own bed, and now that you're not potentially contagious anymore, there's nothing stopping me from sharing a room with you, right?"

Evan didn't really have an answer for that. All he could think to do was stare incredulously at Swift and mentally question her eagerness. Eventually he managed to convey his bafflement by raising an eyebrow, spreading his arms out and gesturing towards himself in a silent cry of "UH, HELLO?"

"Evan." Swift fully sat up, leaning an arm against her knee and once again shooting him a coy smirk. "Stop worrying about me, okay? For one, there is more than enough room for both of us on this queen-size bed. You're not gonna get in my way. Second, you really need to stop kicking yourself about your appearance. It's not your fault you're like this. Let's be real here, it's basically mine. I'm the one who brought that stupid potion to you."

"Swift..." Staring deep into her warm gaze, cutting her off before she could get to her next point, Evan's tone came across as a blend of continued reluctance, genuine appreciation, guilt-ridden anxiety, and heart-wrenching pity.
"Don't... Don't say that. This isn't your fault either." Add to it a slight sense of relief that he was finally expressing his thoughts to her cohesively. "I mean, you brought me the cure to the worst disease I've ever had in my life. I just happened to make a wrong choice when it came to picking my poison. Given the circumstances, I don't blame you for being hasty. And Rainflower..." Cue the eye roll. "...is Rainflower. Is it really surprising that they have a potion that could mess me up this badly?"

"Not particularly," Swift agreed with a shrug. They'd both been subjected to worse thanks to Rainflower, after all. "I'm willing to chalk us both up as victims of circumstance, if only because I'm too tired to beat myself up about it anymore. And because I know you well enough to know that you're not trying to guilt me with all this self-pity. More importantly, though... I don't CARE. I've barely gotten any actual quality time with you in days. I wanna make up for that lost time. Cheer ya up in some way. It doesn't matter to me that you're not exactly yourself right now. If I wasn't put off when you had a cold or were half spider, what makes you think I'm gonna be put off now?"
She then plopped down on her back again, closed her eyes and folded her arms behind her head. "So stop being so self-conscious, get comfy, and let me enjoy your company, dang it."

"Uh..." Evan warily looked down at himself. Sure, he was well and truly used to Swift's bluntness by that point, and he certainly didn't want to place any undeserved blame on her, intentionally or otherwise, but he was still hesitant to subject her to such close proximity with the overgrown mass that was his body. Regardless, he knew too well that she wasn't going to leave him alone on this, let alone leave the bedroom, so if she wanted it that badly, then he really had no choice but to concede.
Besides, he didn't want to sleep on the pullout either...
"Okay... just... gimme a minute... Don't look..."
With Swift's eyes firmly shut, Evan took the opportunity to hastily and inelegantly remove his jeans; he really wished he had some more comfortable legwear to slip into for the night, but at least he wasn't completely exposed either. He sat down on the bed, pulling the covers up until he was thoroughly covered from the waist down. Then, once he was as relaxed as he figured he was going to get, he let out a deep sigh and slumped back against the bedframe. "Okay, I'm good."

"Good." Swift promptly opened her eyes again, clicked off the light, rolled onto her side, and smiled up at Evan, visibly exhausted but completely at ease. No one could knock it. She did look genuinely happy to see him. "So how are ya?"

To that, Evan blew his cheeks out, shrugged, then plopped his arms down at his sides. "I dunno. Anxious? Awkward? Uncomfortable? Straining to stay positive despite my condition? Lamenting the disappearance of my toes?"

"Oh, stop it," Swift teased, casually punching Evan's arm. "You are adorable, and don't let anyone or anything tell you otherwise."
She took a moment to crawl under the covers, speaking in a semi-joking tone, "I understand why you're so sore, but sulking about it isn't gonna improve the situation. Here I am, trying to cheer you up and inject some normality into this whole scenario, and you keep shooting me down. That hurts, Evan."
