Double D flinched at the new opponent, but prepared himself nonetheless. He stood beside Felix, ready to launch anything on his command... if he needed to.

"But...!" Slightly hurt, Double D slowly withdrew. He had imagined this scenario so many times, fighting at his beloved's side, but once again, that was too idealistic.

"Geez..." Eddy groaned alongside Trevor.
Even when cast aside, Double D refused to feel helpless. That weakness would only fuel Lucifer's power.
So in the sidelines, he prayed and prayed and prayed for Felix's victory. If at all his strength was drawn from love and hope, Eddward hoped to add all of his to it.

(I have an idea... Before the true final portion of the fight, Edd should get hit and it should be an injury that makes it likely he'll die.)

(I dunno, I had a plot bunny running through my head about him getting injured like that and becoming the first human to become an angel... but I guess that'd be pushing it.

Lucifer immediately reached down to crush Felix. The angel darted away. Like a fly, he seemed to speed around the battlefield. He did not just stay in one place for any second; he was all over the place, moving with swift, rapid motions so as to avoid any hope of an attack. "You'll never touch me at this rate," Felix told the flailing Lucifer as he then began to slice with each movement, causing injury to the devil. "I will not be beat!" More slices. "I am sworn to defeat you!" More slices. "The light will never fade!"
"SHUT UP!" Lucifer roared, then looked at Double D. His monstrous face twisted into a major smile. "IF I CANNOT HIT YOU, I WILL STRIKE YOUR HEART!"
"WHAT?!" Felix understood the meaning and immediately tried to move to save Edd as Lucifer swiped his hand across to strike Double D physically.
