"UNFH!!" Double D halfway collapsed from the blow, coughing heavily. "F...fair enough... ungh..." He staggered a few times, but managed to haul himself back on his feet, clutching his stomach.
"Geez... that's gonna bruise later," Eddy commented.
(btw, do you want this plot to happen before or after the whole plot in the park right now? Either way would work; Double D will have the ability to hide his wings, after all. Once that thread's done, I'll post his revamp of character.
For now, though, it's your call.)

Waclay continued to wander through the maze. He then came to what he thought was the end when he bumped into the barrier placed by Yang before.
"What the?!" Waclay pushed against the barrier, trying to break out but failed.
"Grrrrrr! If-a that moron thinks he's beaten me, he's-a wrong!"
Waclay runs back through the maze, thinking he made a wrong turn. He eventually takes a different path but slams into the barrier again when he made his way to what he thought was the exit.
"OWW! What in the- what's with-a this dump?!"
Frustrated, Waclay begins running aimlessly through the maze, always crashing into the barrier on each run. Finally he gets worn out after a half hour of searching.
"Dang, now-a I have to use-a the bathroom... Hope-a there's one-a here somewhere."
As Waclay searches for the nearest restroom, he enters a random room that sported a symbol commonly seen on public restrooms. Unfortunately, he failed to notice the 'out of order' signon the door. MAinly because it had fallen on the floor.
Waclay closes the dor behind him and turns when he sees he wasn't in a bathroom. True, there was supposed to be a public restroom here, but it was no longer there. Instead Waclay saw open air as he turned, and saw a bird fly past him.
On instinct, Waclay looks down, seeing he was several stories up in the air!
"OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Waclay tries to reach for the door but proceeds to fall at least half a mile, along with his stolen treasure to the ground below, screaming the whole way.
CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waclay lands face first on the ground, leaving an impression in the hard rock in the shape of his full sillouette, complete with his facial features. Getting up, Waclay groaned in pain as he shook the stars out of his vision.
"Not how I-a planned to escape, but when life gives ya lemons-a, make lemonade!" Waclay grabs the gold goblet and quickly flees.

Waclay's exit was not noticed by the people inside the temple.
[Let's make it before the thread where Double D becomes an angel. You see, Roland is in that thread, and Double D is about to help take a grievance load off of the Nu-mou's shoulder. XD You'll see here.]
Marco also winced at the blow. "YEEOWWTCH! THAT had to hurt kupo..." Thinks a minute, "I don't even think taking a head on collision with a dragons diamond hard skull could hurt THAT much."
Wally looked at Marco confused. "You fought a dragon, Marco-mate?"
Marco held up an index finger. "Well I didn't on my own, I had help from my friends in Clan Highwind." He held up his hand to sign, "There were eight of us in that clan kupo, and the journeys we went on together ranged from wacky to just plain hair-raising. We've been to all kinds of places; volcanoes, grasslands, mountains, snowy plains, ocean-side areas, you name it, we've been there."
Wally's eyes went starry. "Wow!!! THAT IS SO COOL MATE!! Does that make you like a professional adventurer?!"
Marco thought about this, "Well... I don't know about professional, kupo, but... Yeah, I guess you could say I am." Wally grinned like a mad-man at this.
Double D didn't know why, but the name Clan Highwind got to his mind and stuck. He had time to, since Otto was allowing him to catch his breath and footing.
After a mere moment, Otto grinned. "Back to this then." With a burst of speed, he jumped up high in the air. "SHADOW ARROW!!!!" With that, dark arrows shot out of Otto's palm like rapid fire machine gun shots. Double D whipped up a barrier over himself and quickly got out of the way.
Otto landed with the agility of a cat, and chased Double D down. "Don't think I'm through yet, Eddward!" He launched a powerful punch, which Double D almost barely blocked in time with a barrier around his arm.

"NYGH!" Double D's feet skidded across the floor from the blow, leaving decent marks in the stonework. "Neither am I!!" Still sailing back from the momentum of the last attack, Double D pushed himself off the ground, hurdling towards the wall. Before he hit it, however, he placed a half a force field against the wall, making it more flexible. Swinging up and planting his feet on the orb, he pushed off, bouncing away from the wall with the same speed as he was approaching it. With a tremendous amount of momentum, he threw another Sheild Fist Otto's way.

Otto saw the attack coming to him quickly...
In a moment of pure surprise, that made people question whether or not Otto was human or not...
His hands suddenly changed shape, the shadows morphing and changing their shape.
Changing from his regular human hands, Otto pulled back his right fist. "Well then..." At that word, his hands became powerful looking pale black hands with jet black claws replacing his finger nails. "Let's see who has the stronger will then."
He pulled back his fist, roaring a battle cry, and threw out a powerful punch, his claws safely retracted into his hand, which collided with Double D's Shield fist...
Well only one word could describe what happened next...
'Boom'
The sheer force of the two attacks proved to be greater then anything the group had seen previously. Double D's attack with the help of all that momentum was truely something great, but the fact that Otto matched it with a spinning Haymaker almost made it seem impossible for the force that followed the two's attack.
A shockwave boomed out of the connection point, more then surprising everyone there, as they held onto whatever they could find that was solidly connected to the ground. In fact, the island almost seemed to rumble at the blow.

Meanwhile three floors up, Yang felt the force of the blow. "What the?"
He had been trailing Waclay's scent, and was aggravated that he didn't seem to get any closer the more he followed it.
But that force was enough for him to stop long enough to notice something out the window. Outside, Waclay was making a break for across the bridge, the rumbling momentarily making him stop to keep his balance so as not to fall off the island into the void.

Otto grunted as he and Double D held pose for a moment more...
Finally the two fell flat on their butts, panting like there was no tomorrow. Otto grinned at Double D, a new respect forming for the boy.
"You're more (Pant) powerful then (pant) I credited you for..."

"WAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHH!!!" Ed, Eddy, and Courage barely held on to one of the pillars, blown away by the sheer force of the blow.
When things died down, everyone shared a sigh of relief. Double D panted heavily, wiping his brow.
"I have... huff... my friends... pant... to thank for that," he replied, swallowing and catching his breath. "Whew... you're impressive too... I was expecting that. I haven't a good spar like that in a while."

Otto grinned, looking rather pleased with himself. "Glad to hear that from somebody..."
Slowly, he picked himself off the floor. "Listen... The way I see it... You and I are completely and utterly even." A smirk found it's way on his features. "In THIS stage anyways..."
That caused a look of confusion to be made all over the temple.
"Oh... Crud..." Wally looked rather nervous at that. "Don't tell me he's actually going to..?!"
"Here's a fact Double D." Otto smirked as he held up a fist. "My power is great right now, but I'm afraid you've still yet to see what happens..."
A silence formed...
"When I TRUELY get serious."
[This is the battles last round, so look forward to it! Don't worry, Otto isn't going to transform into a huge beast, but his abilities are only going to get tougher.]

"What!? He's not DONE yet!?!" Eddy exclaimed incredulously. "You gotta be kidding me!! They nearby blew up the whole freaking temple!!"
Double D had to admit, he was slightly intimidated, still sweating from the hard workout. But he couldn't give in now. That would be betraying everyone's trust as a jewel bearer.
"...fine, then," he replied breathlessly, falling back into a battle stance. "Does this mean you're not holding back any longer?"

Waclay was laughing with an intensity that one would think he was totally insane as he admired the golden goblet he aquired.
"You-a know," He said to no one in particular, "These-a designs show-a religious importance-a! Maybe, could this-a be the legendary Holy Grail?! Mama-Mia, it has-a to be! The crucifix and the guy in long-a hair nailed to it is an obvious-a clue! This thing has-a to be far-a more valuable than I initially thought-a! Wario and Waluigi are-a gonna go completely crazy when I show 'em this-a!!!"
As Waclay ran to his boat, he had no clue he was being followed.

Waclay instantly felt like his skull cracked under the intense pressure of the hit, before hitting the ground with a sliding crash.
Yang stood behind where Waclay was when he fell, now safely holding the goblet up to his eye level to examine it. "Stupid sneak theif..."
[Don't worry, Waclay's alright, it's just he's gonna have quite the concussion once this whole thing is over.]

Otto held up his hands. "Now, here's the lesson in Dark Bending 1-0-1."
Suddenly, a slight rumbling was heard and felt as something inside the castle moved. "Did you know the more Shadows I absorb, the stronger I become?" Suddenly, more shadows and darkness burst out of the open doors of the sanctuary, and over to Otto. He welcomed them in, "Due to the shadows I have three forms for battle. The first form is my normal form; formidible, but not really a threat to a great deal of warriors." More shadows entered his eyes, causing power to spike up around him like electricity. "My second form is much stronger then my first, and makes some changes in my appearance." He holds up his claws for emphasis. "Wally was so kind as to dub this form, 'Demon Slayer'."
Wally shrugged at the looks that were thrown at him. "What? I'm a fan of picture novels, or, oh what you call them, Graphic novels?"
Marco looked confused at that. "Graphic Novels, kupo?"
"Now here's another factor..."
Even more shadows entered into him, and if any of the group could sense power levels, they'd feel this boy's dark energy rising to almost unbelievable levels. "Me and Wally's powers are similar; I can absorb darkness and shadow, whilst Wally absorbs photons and electricity." He looks up to Double D, "There's a catch however."
This warranted strange looks.
"We can only absorb so much energy; if we go beyond our limits, holding all that energy becomes painful... Almost unbearable." He concentrated more and even more shadows flew in. "However, I have learned... To Bypass my limits. I have new limits, but when I learned to get used to bypassing the previous one's, I became even stronger then ever." The shadows entered into his eyes. "Thus leading to the creation of my third, final, and most powerful form..."
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Their was a shockwave as Otto was suddenly surrounded by darkness, a smoke-screen covering his form...
He stepped out...
Revealing his new form. His claws and other points of overall appearance remained unchanged, the only thing that changed was the fact that he now had a dark jet-black scaled tail, short but strong hanging from his backside, and one could see a visible dark black aura hovering around him.
"A form my hated brother called... the 'Zin-Berserk Oversoul'."

"Holy...!!" Eddy gaped as Ed struggled to keep a screaming and flailing Courage in his arms.
Double D gulped visibly, though did his best to stand his ground. The very darkness in the room seemed to disturb him. Why for, he didn't know; as far as he knew, he had no definite ties to the affinity of light to speak of.
(little foreshadowing of the "Angel of Light" bit ^^)

Otto leaned forward in a battle stance as well. "Are you ready Double D?" He pumped his two fists against each other. "You'll be in for one heck of a fight. Are you up for it?"
[Don't start the fight yet, I've got a small surprise in mind after Double D responds.]

Otto nodded with a smile...
"Wally!"
Wally jumped to his feet. "Yeah mate?"
Otto merely motioned to the others. "Go ahead."
The others watched in confusion, as Wally ran up to the others, reaching into his pocket. "Hey there Ed-Mate." Ed looked to him, as Wally pulled out the Nest Jewel shard... And handed it to him. "Trade you for Courage?"
[The battle comes in the next post! And along with that, an explanation to this sudden action.

"Oh.... okay!" Ed grinned, happily trading and oogling the Nest jewel while Courage settled comfortably in Wally's arms, sighing in relief. It was hard to hold his breath; Ed was a sweet guy, but he didn't have the sweetest body odor.
Some relief came to Double D at this gesture; at last, the jewel was in the hands of someone he deeply trusted. Not to say he didn't trust this pair, but the last time he gave a little rope to a stranger ended in yet another assassination attempt. One couldn't be too careful these days.
"Alright. When you're ready."
