Badness set his laser to 'CRUEL AND UNUSUAL' and fired it at Lloyd. The laser wouldn't kill him; just turn his life into a swirling vortex of agony.

"You don't want him to make his life agony" said Black Mage, routing one of the meteors to strike Lloyds skull and make him die of blunt trauma.

Lloyd saw the meteor.
"Double Dammit," he said.
The meteor hit him and he fell to the ground, blooding dripping out of his skull.
