Chibiusa opened her mouth to comment on the "boy genius" comment, but stopped herself. Every genius she had ever met was insane or shy about their abilities, so it didn't bode well for this... but it was no reason to be rude.
"I'm Tsukino Usagi," she said, seeing no reason to use the shortened version if her mother's past self wasn't in the area, "I'm just a schoolgirl."
It was quite the lie coming from the crowned princess and heir to the galactic kingdom, but she had told it so many times it didn't come across as one. She ducked as a Fuzzy flew over her head. It was an advantage being Dexter's height.
"But I still think we should get out of here."
At least the Fuzzies ddn't seem malicious. It didn't even occur to her that an American might think her first name was Tsukino with the way she had introduced herself.
(OOC: Dexter would probably know the "Rabbit of the Moon" spoken translation of her name, being as smart as he is. Might even know her name means "Moon Field Rabbit" when written out in kanji)

"Right, then, Usagi," Dexter proved her wrong, recognizing the name pattern, but much more interested in the phenomenon around them as he brought out a notepad. "If you wouldn't mind, I'll just be taking a few notes to review when I return to my laboratory." He eyed the Fuzzies curiously. "I wonder... could they have been the cause of the dizzy spells we experienced...?"

Well, he's got guts. I'll give him that much. I just hope he isn't the type of guy who thinks keeping a monster alive to study is a good idea...
"I got dizzy after one smacked into my face, if that's any help." said Chibiusa.
She crouched down in as lady-like a way was possible. The height difference meant it was more likely she would be the one tagged.
"How old are you? I mean, if you don't mind me asking. I'm ni..er, twelve," Chibiusa stumbled over her age. She had gotten used to using her real age recently, but she thought saying nine-hundred-four might raise more than a few questions.
(OOC: I'm gonna continue calling her Chibiusa in my descriptions just to keep her seperate from her mother. XD)

(Note: I'm kind of using his Fusion Fall version. XD But don't worry, he's still short, just in a more proportionate fashion.)
"Slightly older than you, then," he answered offhandedly, paying her less attention now that he was in scientist mode. Against her hopes, he then took out a container, moving underneath a hovering Fuzzy and letting it float gently into the jar before sealing shut. "In that case, it'll be best to analyze this in my lab to discover how they stun their enemies in such a fashion."

No, you're not. I hate having to lie like this...
"Oh, wow. I would have guessed younger," Chibiusa ducked again, "Mind if I tag along? I need to figure out where I am and this doesn't seem like the most populated area."
Please don't be upset I underguessed your age... I know what that's like in ways you wouldn't believe... thought Chibiusa.
She also decided that it was more important than usual to keep certain facts about herself under wraps. A 904 year twelve year old that could magically transform into a celestial soldier might be a little too interesting for the boy.
(OOC: Oh, okay. Sorry then. But as long as he's still shorter it stands. And Chibiusa's height is WITHOUT the odango, so she's quite a bit taller. XD)

(Yup. Makes sense to me XD)
"In due time," Dexter replied, clicking a button on his explorer helmet. His glasses flashed briefly, like that of a camera, and he took various shots of the enviornment around them.

Chibiusa wished Helios were there. Or her guardian soldiers. Or Diana... Heck, she had never been above wanting her mother, so she wished for her parents too. She felt stranded like this. She had no idea where to go and the only one near seemed to have a few issues with obsession.
She didn't want to be rude, but she didn't want to stay here, "I'm gonna head out of the bushes then. Its getting crowded here."
It wasn't a lie. The Fuzzies did seem to be "congregating" for some reason.

"Hmm... I believe you're right," Dexter noted, his camera glasses flickering off and returning to their normal, blueish tint. "If you are interested in studying these Fuzzies, you are welcome to join me. If not, then I can at the very least lead you back into the mainland."

Chibiusa turned when Dexter spoke up and saw him walking towards her, "I leave the studying to Mercury and Saturn."
Chibiusa paused. There were going to be too many questions if she didn't say something, "Ah... Mercury's a world famous doctor who's an old friend of my mom and Saturn's a good friend of mine who enjoys science. Works a lot with genes. But I'll go with you to the... ferry? If this is an island I assume there's a ferry to the mainland."

"...I see." Figuring out that this was a being from a dimension different from his (like mostly everyone he had met so far on this island was), Dexter decided not to question further.
At her assumption, however, he flashed her a smirk.
"That is where you are mistaken again," he replied, hitting a button on the strap of his back pack. Turbo thrusters popped out of the pack behind him. "In case you haven't guessed, this world floats in the gap between dimensions, hovering above an endless void. And so, we will have to fly back to the mainland."

Why can't I transform in front of him... I think using my energy as a soldier would be safer...
Chibiusa's face flushed, "D-does that mean you have to carry me?"

"In a way, yes, but I can understand that could be a little uncomfortable." With that, he opened a small compartment on his belt and pulled out a looped strip of thin, glossy material. "If you could simply slide into my anti-gravity belt, you'll stay afloat beside me as I propel us into the air."

"Wait, what?" Her face got redder.
Chibiusa had to have heard him wrong. But she could have sworn he said "Slide INTO my gravity belt".
Please tell me he didn't just make a pass at me...
If Chibiusa got any redder, she'd make tomato's jealous.

Dexter, being the oblivious boy genius that he is, grew puzzled at her sudden consternation. With no other concern in his mind rather than her safety, he wasn't quite sure what he had said that made her look so embarressed. Girls. One thing he had yet to fully understand despite countless observational studies.
Sighing, he adjusted the anti-gravity belt, pulling the clip out further, so it wasn't hip-at-hip with his own belt. He then held it out to her, growing perturbed. He had research to do! "Please just put the dang thing on."

It was Chibiusa's turn to be embarassed. Not wanting to say anything for fear of shoving her foot further in her mouth, she took the string and looped it around her waist, clipping it on.
"Ah, sorry..." she didn't feel like explaining her stupidity, "We can go."
She just hoped she wouldn't regret saying that.
