Handing her the belt and waiting for her to slip it on, Dexter hit a few more switches, and his jetpack began to rumble to life. "Right, then. Whenever you're ready."

Does never count...
Chibiusa gripped tightly onto the belt. It wasn't that she didn't trust Dexter... she just didn't trust the contraption. Anti-gravity? It really was no worse than the teleporters the sol system castles possessed, but she trusted her senior Sailor Soldiers more than the carrot-topped kid, "Let's go."
She didn't think her smile was all that convincing.

Dexter sensed her hesitation. "Don't worry, I went through extensive tests to get the belt working. Left quite a bit of bruising on my part, it did."
With her completely hooked up, his pack's thrusters pushed up on steam power, and the two were lifted about a foot off the ground. The girl hovered right next to him, comfortably so; the belt wasn't pulling her up, just keeping her in place. It felt like she was floating, but not in the upsy-daisy fashion, as if she was in outer space. More like she was sitting on invisible cotton.
Dexter hoped she'd be relieved, at the very least, if not impressed. He was very proud of his work.

Chibiusa was actually very impressed, "Wow! It took centuries for technology like this to develop in my world!"
In her awe, she had quite obviously let it slip that her world was quite different that Dexter's. At least it didn't reveal her real age. In fact, it possibly gave the illusion she was into technology and had studied her world's own. What she had said had been true, it had taken half her life for Mercury to get the teleporters to work right in her world. And anti-gravity technology certainly wasn't portable. Its main usage was for space flight and visits to other planets and star systems.
She was gawking at the rope, her eyes practically sparkling with how impressed she was. And Venus thought it was a good idea to make fun of geeks...

Dexter was pleased by her reaction. "Science is a very powerful thing, is it not?" His pack thrusted forward, and they broke out of the trees and sailed over the jungles of Fuzzy Isles. "It will not take us long to reach the main island."

"I'm not generally into it, myself. Although people sure do seem to take it for granted," Chibiusa said.
She was actually aiming that at herself. When she had visited the 20th century, it had been appalling how underdeveloped the world was. They hadn't even known about life outside of the planet! It hadn't helped the grief she was already feeling for her mother.
Grades were also something Chibiusa had to work her butt off for. She had a feeling Dexter was probably home schooled.
(OOC: You can move us to the new location if you like. It would be nice if I didn't have to move the thread for once. Just link to the new one. X3)
