Watching Pentral go, Burnin' Leo turned to Makoto before motioning to follow him. "Well... How about we go and get a hotel room Makoto? It'll give us a place to stay when night falls." He thought a moment, "I think I saw a hotel that way. Let's go check in early before all of the rooms are taken."
He shrugged at Makoto's look. "Common sense, you know." He started walking before he turned to Makoto. "Shall we?"

Makoto looked away, trying to figure out how to disagree with Leo without upsetting him. They couldn't leave, Pentral couldn't find him if he did that! He was thinking that even with the communicator on his ear. He looked at his feet. He couldn't say anything.
He gently shook his head. It was hard to see and he immediately regretted doing it. So now he stood there looking extremely awkward.

Burnin' Leo had caught the slightest hint that he had shook his head. "What? Are you afraid Pentral won't find us if we DO wander off?"

Makoto winced a bit as he looked up. It was evident he was weighing his options. Finally he nodded his head. Still no words.
(OOC: Dark you Makoto! Forcing me into short posts with you non-verbalness. >_>)

Burnin' Leo thought about this for a moment, before seeing the communicator Makoto held. "You know..." He walked up to the young man, pointing to the communicator. "That communicator is not limited to a certain place. Pentral seems to have confidence that it could work no matter how far away he is... Who's to say it can't work the other way around?"
It made sense, Burnin' Leo thought. "Sides, if we get to a nearby hotel or something, you can relax on a bed whilst we wait for him to come back. And when he does come back and can't find us, he can always reach us on that device. I believe that's how it works."
He shrugged a little. "Look you can trust me on this. No bad guy is going to hurt you so long as I'm around. You can count on me."

Makoto nodded, feeling it would be better to go along than start any kind of argument. Arguments tended to end up in him being in pain. He took a step forward, but seemed unwilling to go until Leo advanced forward again.
Had the creature said bed? Relax and bed? In the same thoughtframe? Makoto wasn't sure what to make of that. The only beds he could come up with were in cells. And cells were not a place to relax. They were a place to pass out until the scientists that ran the holding areas for the living batteries decided it was time to wake up.
However, it made little difference to Makoto's expression. Seeing as how his eyes seemed to always carry some mix of fear and resignation, no difference was discernable. When Leo promised to protect him, perhaps a little worry appeared. It was illegal to protect the psychoslave batteries....

Burnin' Leo ignored the unsure look on Makoto's face putting it off as 'the usual', even if he didn't know what the usual was with this kid. "Don't worry." An invisible reassuring smile came to his face, "It'll be all right."
And with that, Burnin' Leo lead the boy away, making sure to go slow enough, that Makoto could keep up.

Keeping up was not a problem for the physically young adult/mentally early teened boy. Perhaps the opposite, if he hung any closer to the Dreamland denizen, he probably would have literally been walking on him.
He was obviously quite jumpy, jerking his head at every little noise. Thing was, he wasn't used to being out in the open. And when it started raining, his already off the charts nervous and frightened behavior began getting worse with each passing second. To those who had never been to his home dimension, it would be impossible to know why... but it was as if the thought of a little bit of rain scared the kid to death...

Burnin' Leo seemed not to notice Makoto's continued discomfort, after all, he really didn't know what was wrong with traveling through a crowded place like this.
Moving on though...
After a bit of a walk, the two came across a modest looking hotel among the shops and such of the Void City Plaza. It looked like a nice enough place, kinda cheap maybe, but still nice. "Okay, looks like a good enough place to crash for a bit." He motioned to the young man behind him. "Come on, Makoto. Let's check this place out."

Makoto seemed out of character in his rush to get into the hotel. It was rickity, but... better than being caught in a storm. The fact the storm was taking so long to settle in was worrisome...
"Hurry!" he shouted, gesturing towards Leo. He still wasn't sure what to make of the fire haired creature... but anyone that stayed out in a beginning storm was obviously not with the Global Alliance.
And yes. He shouted. And seemed rather frantic as he gestured for the smaller being to get into the building. He looked nervously at the sky and nearly hit the ceiling as thunder rolled by...

Okay... Now he was REALLY confused.
The Dreamland Citizen was very confused as to why Makoto was acting like this. He may have been a nervous wreck before, but now he was just showing tried and true fear...
But... why?
'Plop'!
Leo looked up into the sky to see rainclouds forming overhead, having felt that first drop plop on his head. He looked in confusion; was Makoto afraid of the storm? It'd probably make sense if he had a fear of lightning (Bonkers had revealed he had such a fear during his journey with Kirby and the others), but a fear of rain? He shrugged, 'well, no sense to stay out in the rain and catch a cold'. He calmly walked inside and took a look around. The lobby itself was fixed up somewhat, not exactly nice, but it wasn't exactly run-down either. It would do what with the storm setting in.
He walked up to the front desk before pulling up a chair, and jumping on top of it, it would help him to see over it slightly. With a small jump, his head poked over the desk as he ringed the bell.
"Yes? Who's there?"
An old man with an impressive amount of wrinkles appeared behind the desk, wearing a monocle. He looked around a moment. "Down here." The man looked down to see Burnin' Leo standing on the chair. "We'd like a room please?" He jumped up and his hands caught the edge of the desk, he pulled himself up slightly, before pulling out his gold sack once more. "Whatever your price is, I'll match it with ease."

Makoto had found a table. To hide under. Yes, a table to hide under. Poor Leo had no understanding of the storms that ravaged Enid, the world Makoto had come from. Small rain was merely a precursor to tornadoes and the type of disasters that made the Katrinas of our Earth look like a run through the sprinkler.
He had gotten slightly less fearful. It being replaced by confusion. Why was no one else reacting? It was a storm. Why weren't they looking for cover? Fleeing to the basements for the less than 1% chance of protection? Unless... were they...?
And now the teen seemed even more scared. To the point that if anyone tried to come near him they'd be blasted backwards by a significant amount of psychic force. Would it be safer in the storm? Staying here would guarantee...
He looked like a trapped animal. The type that would bite your arm off from being cornered.
(OOC: I swear there is a reason for his seemingly psychotic behavior. It comes down to if the storm isnt' dangerous he feel she must be in a Global Alliance protected compound. Which means Leo must work for the GA. Which means he now doesn't trust him.
The kid is rather psychologically damaged. >__>)

"Umm... ... ... Is that kid okay?"
Leo turned away from the old man, and looked to Makoto hiding under the table, looking more and more scared as the seconds rolled by. Lifting an eyebrow curiously, he let go of the table, dropping down onto the chair before, hopping on the floor.
In another world, some would probably deem his move INSANE, but he approached Makoto, noticing a slight jolt in movement with each step the Dreamlandian took. "Hey... Makoto..?" He tilted his head in confusion as he closed the distance. Knowing Makoto well at this point, he did so slowly for his sake. "Are you okay?"

"I don't wanna go back!" he shouted.
Leo's slow advancing probably helped, but a burst of psychic energy escaped and flew straight towards Leo. If Leo had a strong mind, he could block it. And unfortunately for Makoto... that would mean he got backlash. Without Leo knowing that, however...
If it hit Leo would feel roughly like he'd just been hammered by Hammer Kirby, except it would be more of a generic all over pain than a single concentrated spot. And it would be all in his head...

"!!!!!!! GKT!!!!"
WHAAAAAAM!!!!!!!!!!
The hotel owner's lamp vibrated around threatening to fall over, the hotel owner himself was startled out of his mind...
And Leo himself was at the foot of the desk, having lightly cracked it upon impact. 'Okay... THAT hurt...' The poor creature slowly got to his feet, feeling like he had just been zapped by Kracko's thunder bolts all over again. All of his movements were sore, and all around hurt...
But it didn't matter.
"Go back..."
Leo's voice carried over the room, as he looked at Makoto with the most sincere look he could give. "To what... Makoto?"
