Mixed among all the fear was perhaps the faintest traces of... anger? Maybe, it was hard to tell if the teen was even capable of the emotion. But it was a different... "feel" than usual. As if the air had gotten heavier or something. Those with psychic powers could feel he was indeed angry, but it was an anger born of fear. Self preservation as opposed to true anger.
"Y-y-you know... You're w-w-with them. Only," he swallowed hard, "Only reason you're n-not scared of the s-s-storm. Why!? You could just trap me like you always do! Why torture me like this!!"
His shouts were actually just above normal speaking volume. More like a raised voice than true shouts. The psychic energy in the area was all but literally crackling, and things that didn't appear to have any reason to were falling off shelves. What wasn't evident, at least to those without psychic powers, was that Makoto was weakening. He was using too much energy and was probably going to pass out soon. But he wouldn't show it... he couldn't show it. Showing weakness... no...

"Torture you?"
The poor pained creature didn't understand as he wobbled to his feet. No legs or not though, he almost lost balance and had to put his hand on the side of the desk to steady himself. "Why would I want to do that?" He raised his head to look at Makoto, sadness becoming apparent. "What kind of monsters would want to do that to you?"
Suddenly, his thoughts raced back to what he had learned at the restaurant...
"You think I'm with this Global Alliance... Don't you?" It seemed close to the truth, he thought. "Makoto... Look at me... Do I look like someone who would torture innocent people for no reason at all?"

"I d-don't..." he looked away, trying to get the tears to stop, "I d-don't know... anymore..."
He would have never thought this... but the terrible world he had left at least had been one he knew. He knew that everyone was dangerous, that he just had to sit down, shut up, and follow orders. But now... it was so confusing...
"I don't know...."
The tension in the air seemed to drop as Makoto buried his head in his knees. If Leo was with the Global Alliance, if he just let them take him... he could at least pass out... if not... who knew?

At first all was dark, Makoto not wanting to see what happened next...
......................
......................
......................
......................
He suddenly felt a hand gently take his.
If he looked up Makoto would've seen that Burnin' Leo had limped over to where he hid, and, with a gentle move, took his hand into his. "Well. I'm not."
He smiled comfortingly as he patted the top of the boys hand; he was positioned in front of him, so he couldn't reach his back. "I'm not going to hurt you. I never thought about it one bit. That's my word, and my promise."
He winced when Makoto did lift his head up. "All I ask is that you DON'T hit me with that whatever you just did again. I'm sorry to be blunt, but the last time I got hit like that, it was when I was struck by lightning by a lightning monster."

Makoto's eyes had turned red again as he looked up, but he wasn't able to hear all of Leo's conversation before completely passing out. His breathing was as regular as could be expected from someone in his physical condition. Basically, he had just fallen asleep from exhaustion.
He had passed out wanting to believe Leo... but if he could find it within himself to actually do so, it would have to wait until he woke up to be seen.

"Ma... Makoto?"
It took Burnin' Leo a second to realize the kid had passed out, but when he did, he knew instantly what had to be done. "Hey!" He turned to the old hotel owner. "Can you give me a hand and help me get this guy up to our room please?"
Of course, the old man was hesitant to do as such. That young man nearly vaporized this room with those psychic abilities of his; he knew what psychic abilities were due to some past experience... Still... what could he do? Leo had already rented out a room... "O-okay..."
Leo patted Makoto on the head, before a bellhop or two appeared and picked the boy up; Leo would've done it, but given his small size, the only one who would really have a chance at lifting Makoto was either Bonkers, Golem, or GIM. He would need help. "Remember, nice and easy."
[Makoto'll wake up in a comfy bed if you want to skip ahead a bit.]

Actually, for Makoto the sleep was blissfully empty. No nightmares just nothingness. However, as he slowly came to he felt extremely uncomfortable. Not really enough in the way of energy to thrash, but he looked down at the bed with a look of confusion.
He had never slept in a normal bed. EVER. Even before getting captured by the Global Alliance, he was lucky to get more than a few pieces of cardboard. So this was odd. And squishy. He wasn't sure if moving was a good idea, so he kind of just... lay there.
It gave time for thoughts to occur to him... he had... no, not quite. But if he wasn't here...? He lifted his arms and was pleasantly surprised that they came up. They weren't strapped down. He tried to push himself up but failed pretty badly as he hadn't expected the give of the mattress.
By now he was making a fair amount of noise as he flailed. He wasn't thrashing, just trying to figure out how balance was supposed to work on this strange surface he was now on...

"Ah! You're awake!"
He was instantly treated to hearing Leo's voice somewhere, obviously in the same room as him. "I trust you had a good rest?"
If Makoto took the time to look, he'd see Burnin' Leo sitting on the bed adjacent to his, reading a novel of some kind. He thought it looked pretty interesting.

Makoto immediately looked ashamed, "S-sorry..."
He didn't really know what to say. He was still trying to figure out if what he was laying in was really swallowing him. He finally managed to get ahold of the table next to the bed and push himself up. He patted himself down and had the orange Pentral had given him. It was a little warm, but it wasn't bad or anything. He tried to get the peel off with his fingernails, but it wasn't going well.
Actually, it also showed his hands were more than a little filthy. The teen obviously needed a bath. His hair looked like it may have the potential of being pretty good looking despite looking like someone cut it with a hacksaw. It was actually indigo, but the dirt in it made it look a rather awful color as it were. And the orange peel wasn't cooperating. He looked at it with a dejected look. Pentral had said he needed to remove the peel, right?

"Need any help?"
Leo was walking along the floor now looking up at Makoto on his bed. If he received a curious look he waved it off. "I'm a chef, it's my job to prepare food. So if you need help with anything food related I'm the guy to call."
Was it on purpose that he ignored the apology? In Leo's mind, it made sense; Makoto was just scared, confused. There was really nothing to blame him for.

Makoto thought about it. He wasn't really sure how the small figure would manage where he couldn't, but he nodded and held out the orange.
Being the chef he was, Leo may very well have been having internal twitching over how dirty Makoto was. His clothes were clean, sure, but as mentioned before he looked like he hadn't seen a bath in a year. At the least.

Thankfully however, Leo was very laid back for a chef.
"Hey Makoto?" He obviously had the boys attention. "Why don't you go to the bathroom over there and take a bath?" He worked at the orange peelings a second. "You could obviously use it, given how tense you are. It might calm you down a little bit." He patted the boy on the back, "You go do that okay? I'll have your orange ready when you get out."

Makoto had to work at it, but he got enough courage to shake his head, "Don't like... water..." he said.
No reason given as to why, though... but if Leo thought about it for a moment, exposing the kid to varying temperatures might not be the greatest idea...
(OOC: Makoto doesn't like large amounts of liquid for a very good reason. Has to do with his backstory. >_>)

The creature looked at him curiously. "What for?" He thought a moment. "Has this got something to do with your fear of storms, or something? You didn't seem too keen on staying out in the rain."

Makoto's eyes widened and he jumped up, looking out the window. And then looked completely dumbfounded.
"It's... still here?" He looked to Leo, "But... the storm...?"
Aside from the whole flabberghasted situation, Makoto was actually talking more in this space of five minutes than he was known for talking in a month. That, if nothing else, was something.
"It's not the rain... itse," he coughed,"itself..." His voice had cracked. He really wasn't used to talking this much. But he was also very confused as to the whole situation. For all the knowledge of this being a different world he may have had... it was clear he really didn't understand.
