A church-- it was fitting, in a way.
For the Wizard's plan, it had to happen here. Things were finally going to come to fruition. If he were to maximize his psychic abilities and bring peace to these tortured worlds...
Not time to think about it. Shapeless and Shifter had accompanied the Wizard to this Ground Zero. They were his guards, assistants and, if nesecary, his sacrificial lambs. If his plan didn't go accordingly, then he would simply have to begin his Xanatos Gambit.
The signal had been sent. Everything would begin soon.

"Trevor... take Perceval home... something's going on and it's time to put an end to it."
"Don't do anything foolish, Felix."
"I know... but I won't let Edward go alone... If anything should happen to us..."
"Damnit, don't say anything like that, you bloody git!"
"If anything should happen to us...take care of Marion... would you?"
"I..."
Felix sighed. At least Trevor had been honest, he thought.
"You know me, Felix... So instead, you make a promise. Promise me that, no matter what, you'll make sure you, Edward, or preferably both of you come back alive."

Eddward had a terrible feeling in his gut as him and Felix entered the old church, the source of the signal. Easily knowing who had sent it, he had every right to be wary. Whatever the Wizard was planning... well, god only knows WHAT he was planning, but his intuition was telling him it wasn't anything good. Or, at least, something that could be percieved as good as theory, but not so much when executed.
It was a tired old game, but he had to take part in it if he wanted to ensure the safety of this world.

"It seems our esteemed guests have arrived." The Wizard said calmly, giving the signal for Shapeless to move into the rotting building. Without a word, Shapeless' clothes fell to the ground in a messy pile as the invisible force followed his instructions.
"Shifter, I want you to prepare the gun. It should be in Shapeless' back coat pocket." As the shape-shifter swiftly took to his job, the Wizard looked up at the sun in the sky.
Mid-day. 2-ish? A stark contrast to the dark and stormy nights some of his colleagues on the island would choose for their plans.

Otto never ONCE liked psychics; they could see the future among other more powerful and damaging abilities. His oppinion had been, however, corrected when he met Raz. He seemed like a good kid, despite some oddities. But still, that didn't help his general dislike for Psychics that were like... Well... Like Specter or the Wizard.
Needless to say, his marching steps were like those of walking to deathrow.
That was why he disliked powermad Psychics.
Because he knew how much more powerful they were compared to him. He could fire energy beams, become stronger, faster, and mightier with every shadow he absorbed. But it mattered little, if the attacks could even connect, or if you could even LAUNCH the attack to begin with.
With that in mind, it seemed to make sense to charge up early. With his steps continuing, shadows from near everywhere clammored up to Otto and entered his form, before his hands transformed into his powerful jetblack demon like claws. That would do for now.
He sighed a little. "This should be an interesting experience..."

Double D was naturally unnerved by the shadows, but it was more or less a physical reaction. Light was meant to deflect dark, no sense in avoiding that. But he had seen Otto's abilities firsthand, and he trusted the Darkbender deeply, so he let it go quickly.
"That's an understatement," he replied to Otto, shutting his eyes and feeling around as they strolled through the catherdral. "...he's close by. I can't tell where, but... I'm not sure if he's alone or not. There's a... a distrotion of aura, I think."

"YOU RANG?!"
With a crash, rubble from the ceiling above fell down towards the Wizard's enemies. Shapeless had entered and, ego-maniac that he was, couldn't resist showing off. Dusted pews, untouched for decades, were launched into the air and went flying at Otto.

"SHADOW BULLET!!!!"
ZAAAP-ZAAAP-ZAAAP-ZAAAP!!!
Otto wasted no time at the greeting, firing shadowy energy out of his index finger at a rapid pace, blasting the dusty pews to rubble, before they got too close. "Heh. So this is what the great Wizard is reduced to; sending some overinflated gas-bag down here to greet us?"
With that said, he reeled back his arm and, with a baseball pitch like throw, sent another black energy ball in Shapeless' general direction. The attack, due to Shapeless being nothing more then a formless blob of gas however, only phased harmlessly through the being though, and exploded against the ceiling just above Shapeless. "... ... Crap..." His eye twitched a little at this.
Just great... Something ELSE he couldn't defeat by the usual means.

"GAH!" Caught off guard, Double D barely sidestepped most of the rubble, blocking the rest with a well-placed force-field. He should've expected the theatrics.

"You shouldn't be shooting guns in a church; didn't your folks raise you better?" Shapeless mocked, swirling around unseen. "By the way, Sock-Head, I hear you're an angel, now. What, is that like AIDS? Did you catch it from having teh butsecks?"

Double D turned to Shapeless with a mixture of surprise and mortification on his face. He didn't know what to try and grasp first, how he knew, why that was important, and what the HELL was up with that last comment. "I BEG your pardon!?!"
(...that's getting back at me for what I told you, wasn't it? XDDD)

(OOC: Nah. Shapeless was just being an asshole.)
"Ah, same old Double D!" Shapeless laughed as the dust swirled in the air; slowly, like a tumbleweed. "Just because you're not using big words or freaking out over every little thing doesn't mean you're not the same guy!"
With the velocity of a bullet, a tiny ball of dust (compacted tight into a shape like a football) whizze just past Edd's ear, piercing the wooden planks on the floor.
"Missed. Bummer."

"Just for that, I'll be the one to kill you!" Felix yelled, creating two swords of pure fire before charging at Shapeless. He was giving his energy on this one, using his wind powers to make himself a blur so that he could try to attack Shapeless as many times as possible before he could get away or before the angel ran out of energy.

"GAH!" Double D nearly fell over at the shot, rubbing his ear uneasily at the close call. When Felix rushed forward to attack, he was too shaken to know for certain whether to stop him or not.
Most importantly, where was the Wizard? Why were they greeted by this brute?

"GAH! I thought you people were supposed to be gentle!" Shifter exclaimed as the flurry of blades chipped away at his spectral being. If he could bleed it would be pouring out by the bucketloads. As things stood, they only had his screams of horror to estimate his level of pain by.
Then, as if such an incredible ammount of screaming had ripped the universe asunder, a portal opened. It was bright red and crackled with a foreign energy that burned the eyes. Out from this rift stepped none other than the man himself: the Wizard.
"Eddward and company. A pleasure, as always."
