Midori gulped. "G-Good idea... Keiichi-kun! Please..." Whatever thought she had been trying to start was brought to an abrupt end as Midori stepped back with Kaini. This could go very badly... no need to make things worse.
K1 sighed. Well, this had been a fun day. He turned to Naoya. "You never told me I had a brother," he said.
Souji, on the other hand, was rather surprised by the events that had just happened. From what he could piece together, Keiichi and Kaini were two twins who were seperated at birth, and were raised seperately. Keiichi had gotten caught in the lockdown, Kaini had not. Keiichi had chosen to defy the Judeo-Christian God because of events in the Lockdown, while Kaini had been chosen by that same God because of Keiichi's choices. And Naoya... Naoya was an odd piece. Where did he fit into all of this? Kaini had suggested that Naoya was the reason that Keiichi had chosen the path that he had, but Keiichi had denied that.

Naoya glanced at Souji. Well, he had to show he was human from time to time, "I didn't know."
Yeah, Naoya had just admitted to not knowing something. Fact was, it had thrown him for more than a loop than he was probably capable of showing, let alone willing. He was trying to figure out how that pieced into his first life. He'd wandered off from a mix of guilt and anger over Abel's death. His parents had all but disowned him, completely ignorant that they had been part of the problem. Some legends said Eve had given birth to other children, and it was plausible what with how humanity was now.
But did that have any connection to Kaini? What he didn't bring up was the evidence he'd seen that Keiichi's mother, his aunt, wasn't related by blood. He hadn't been sure, and had easily pushed it aside in his mind what with trying to get Keiichi to trust him and maintaining that trust. And the fact that he had gotten emotionally attached to the teenager over that time as well...

K1 looked down. "Oh," he said. Now would be a good time to change the topic. He looked back up. "Oh. I completely forgot about Yuugi and Atem! We should go check on them!"
Souji noticed the fairly transparent attempt to change the topic, but decided to play along for now. "On that note... Can we go drop Minato-kun off in his room? He's practically asleep on his feet here."
"He looks unconcious to me," K1 said.

A blind man would have caught that Souji was merely "playing" along, but Naoya chose to let it rest. He looked down at Minato, "I can take him. Atem likes me about as much as you do," he looked up at Souji, "So it is probably best if I don't bother them."
Was Naoya being polite? No, he was just trying to avoid putting his brother through more chaos than the day had obviously been for him. He made no attempts to hide he'd been watching the conversation de-escalate for a while. The fact that he didn't trip over Yuugi AND Atem was evidence enough of that. He knew it would be idiotic to try and convince Souji otherwise. -----
As for Yuugi and Atem, they were both back in their apartment. Atem hadn't even made it to the bedroom, although he had tried to convince Yuugi he would be fine on the couch. Yuugi was still awake, but after feeling extremely embarassed at the thought of watching Atem sleep he had wandered into his room. K1 had been understandably shocked, and Yuugi had managed to avoid seeing the scaryface mode of the teen. He lay back in his bed, falling asleep in seconds. At least it was light, he'd be aware if someone knocked on the door.

Souji turned to Naoya. "Speaking of which, can I borrow you for something?" As it was, he wanted to check on Adachi. And considering the man's mindset and abilities, it would be best to bring Naoya along with him. "K1, you can go on ahead and check on Yuugi and Atem."
"Okay," K1 said, and walked into the building, heading up to the third floor and Yuugi's room.

Naoya glanced at Keiichi, allowing his cousin to answer first. When the teen seemed to have no objection to the plan, he finally nodded, "If it's in the buildilng, we should drop Minato off first."
It seemed Souji had more on his mind than just trying to figure the situation involving his cousin and him out...

Souji nodded. "Let's go then." He started walking toward the stairway up to Minato's floor.
----------------
K1 made it up to Yuugi's door, and lightly knocked on the door. Hopefully Yuugi could hear him.

Actually, Yuugi slept right through it. It was Atem that abruptly came out of his sleep, feeling his head spin as he jerked into a sitting position. He held his head for a moment, feeling something like a migraine as he turned towards the door. He wasn't one to pass it off and pushed himself up. He glanced towards the door-less bedroom. Yuugi was sleeping rather hard. He walked over to the door and opened it.
"K1?"
He probably should have known that the teen would be checking on them. However, something seemed on K1's mind. Something more than usual. Atem was too tired to really put much of it together, but it seemed something had shifted as a result of the encounter with Kaini. -----
Naoya wasn't surprised at the lack of help Souji was giving him with Minato. At least the teen was doing something similar to sleepwalking. He didn't have to support him as much. He grabbed the handle to the door when they got there and jerked it. He frowned and let Minato drop to the floor, "Wake up, your door is locked." he stated.

K1 smiled. "Just making sure you guys made it up here okay. Are you feeling alright?" He knew that Atem needed rest, but his concern for him overrided that small fact. And besides, at least he could talk normally to Atem. No Kaini around.
-------------------
Minato groaned. "...no need to yell," he mumbled, and yawned. Naoya hadn't been yelling, which meant that the statement was probably more than a bit odd on Minato's part. In any case, he pulled his keys out, and unlocked his door. He didn't seem to be bothered by the fact that Naoya had walked him up to his room, thought that was probably because he was half asleep as it was.
Souji was waiting down the hall in front of his own apartment.

"We're both fine. Yuugi is passed out on his bed. What happened out there?"
Yuugi had often been accused of liking puzzles a little too much. Atem actually had a similar problem, and despite looking like he was about to fall down wanted to know what had happened out there. He might not have seen K1's darker expression, but something seemed off. ----
Naoya didn't even acknowledge he'd heard the teen. He was probably lucky the man stayed around long enough to see him open the door. He turned around and headed over to where Souji stood with a rather serious expression on his face.
"What did you want?"

K1's smile faded away. "Ah... that Kaini kid... apparently he's my long lost twin. It's kind of stupid to say out loud, but yeah... Anyways, apparently the angels back in the lockdown sent him after me when I came here. I think he's their backup Messiah." K1 said. It was still rather obvious he wasn't saying the whole truth.
------------
Souji motioned to Adachi's door. "We're going to check on Adachi. I promised him if he pulled this again he was dead meat. And I don't go back on promises."
He pulled out his sword. "I want you to come as backup. Adachi's insane, but he's strong. If he tries to fight, I want someone with me."

Naoya nodded. He thought Souji was getting in over his head here, but he didn't argue. It was now painfully clear why he'd wanted him instead of his cousin. If someone needed to be killed, Keiichi wasn't the right person to bring along. Somehow he had the feeling the situation would only de-escalate into that if Souji acted the idiot. Which didn't seem out of the question.
He inputted a few commands into his COMP. The demons that appeared behind him were Ameterasu and Nyarlathotep. He took a few steps backwards, seeming to remove himself from the direct situation. Actually, he was taking advantage of Nyarlathotep's Chaos Wave. If Souji wanted to pull the reckless card, he would let him. He was going to be smarter about things.
He gave another nod to indicate to Souji he could go whenever he wanted. He gave a few hand gestures towards the much darker demon to his back right, and it took a far more aggressive stance. Souji wasn't the only one that could play the intimdating card, after all. Ameterasu seemed to get into a defensive one.

Souji stepped forward, and politely knocked on Adachi's door a couple times. A couple minutes passed. There was the distinct sound of a record player from inside the apartment, which was odd. Who even had those anymore? He knocked even louder. Another couple minutes passed. Finally, Souji started banging on the door.
"Adachi! We know you're in there!" Souji yelled. "Open this door!"
Another few minutes passed. The record player began to skip. Finally, Souji took a deep breath, and kicked the door open.
"Adachi! Where the hell are you!?" Souji yelled. The apartment seemed to be very empty.

Atem nodded and spoke in as serious as voice as his current level of exhaustion allowed, "Do you have to kill him?"
He hoped the answer was no. The comparison to Cain and Abel that the thoughtframe brought up as disturbing. It would be a full corruption of K1, however. He hoped even Naoya wouldn't go that far. ----- Naoya glanced down at the door. Well, that had been unnecessary. They could have just removed the handle or something. Although the condition of the door was rather impressive. He looked towards Ameterasu, "Any signs of life?"
The goddess closed her eyes for a moment. Being orientated around healing and one of the more gentle demons one could contract, she could sense life forces. She turned towards Naoya, "None, master."
Naoya calmly walked over to the record player and lifted up the needle. He turned towards Souji, "You busted down a perfectly good door for no reason."

K1 looked down. "Don't know."
---------------
Souji groaned. "Shut. Up." He walked around the apartment, searching for anything that could have indicated where Adachi had gone. There was a rope made with bedsheets hanging from the balcony, and a note on Adachi's bedside.
Souji crushed the note in his hand. So that was how Adachi was going to play. He turned to Naoya. "You can go now. That was all."
