Yuugi heard the footsteps coming towards him. Thanks to K1's shout, he knew who it was. He broke into a run forward, keeping his hand out to avoid faceplanting against a wall. He stopped when he heard K1's steps stop. He must not have been trying to grab him. Of course, now he had no clue where Souji was. The little bit of glow his card was putting off seemed swallowed by the darkness, almost as if it had a mind of its own. He used his hand to keep his general direction straight and turned towards K1.
"I can't just abandon him! What if he dies? What if he dies because of me!? We can't count on avoiding shadows! Not if this world is influenced by Atem! He wanted to Mind Crush Adachi-san! Do you know what that means? It means that his shadow won't hesitate to attack us! I-I-I k-know I'm weak!" Yuugi's voice began to shake a bit, "I can't fight very well. Atem's strong, but you know what my running would do? It would make me weaker! I can't abandon him! I-I..." Yuugi trailed off. In this darkness... he was grateful that K1 couldn't see him. Because the heat on his cheeks wasn't just from his tears. What the hell was that thought that had just flicked across his mind?
He quickly turned around, almost as if he thought K1 could see him, "I can't risk it..." It hadn't seemed possible, but his voice was shaking even worse. He'd also gotten a lot quieter, and it was possible K1 hadn't heard his last comment.

K1 hadn't moved any further. "For the the love of god, Yuugi, think about what you're doing for a second! You're running through a dark tomb with no idea where you're going! You're going to get yourself killed this way! What good will it do if you and Atem both die?!" K1 yelled. "I know you have to save him! We all do! But getting yourself killed isn't going to help anything!"
Souji didn't comment.

Yuugi stopped at that comment. K1 was right. He didn't want to admit it, but the other teen was right. Yuugi looked into the blackness ahead of him. Atem was strong, he'd be okay. Right? He looked in the direction of his feet and rubbed his arm. It wasn't fair to think that Atem couldn't handle himself, after all. He wiped tears away and turned fully around.
"You're right... I'm sorry..."
To be exact, Yuugi said "sumimasen". It was the type of apology one gave when they were greatly at fault or had performed a major social faux pas. He began to walk towards where he heard K1's voice, and the footsteps echoed in the creepy way this World seemed to allow. K1 was right... Yuugi didn't want to admit that, but he really had no choice. Besides, even if he wasn't killed, he could get lost. It was a very bitter feeling that crept into his heart from knowing which of the two of them K1 and Souji would likely try to save.

K1 sighed. "It's fine. Forget it. Alright, now we just need to--" He turned to face where Souji had been, and saw nothing. "...Please don't tell me this means what I think it means." They had lost the one person who knew how to navigate this world. That was just amazing. The only thing that could make this better would be more traps.
Which were sure to be coming up ahead.

Yuugi looked up as K1 cut himself off. He knew the teen was still there by the sound of his foot hitting the ground. It was unclear if the teen knew he had done it, but he had taken an unconscious step backwards. All sorts of thoughts ran through his head as the other teen said "don't tell me".
Yuugi ran forward, somehow managing to merely bump K1 on the way past. Once he was past the teen he carefully took steps forward. What K1 had said... Souji could have fallen into a trap or something, "Seta-kun?" he nervously asked as he continued carefully stepping forward. He didn't want to accidentally step into a pit.

There was no response.
"N-No way..." K1 said. He pulled out his COMP. At least he could see by the light of the COMP, somewhat. He looked at his demon list before smacking his forehead. "How could I have forgotten?! Brigid!" He pressed a button, and a demon taking the form of a beautiful helmeted woman carrying an urn filled with fire appeared. The area around K1 filled with light.
"Crap, if only I'd remembered you earlier, Brigid, we could have avoided a lot of this..." K1 said. Now they were in a huge mess.

Yuugi felt flooded with anger as he turned around and saw the constant light, although it seemed more to be of desperation. The way flashlights can make a person look stereotypically creepy? Not helping the look on Yuugi's face appear any friendlier, "You had a demon that could have worked all this time!?"
Anger faded to grief. It meant that if Souji were hurt, it was the fault of the group. However, he could see better and saw nothing that indicated any kind of secret passage or trap door. Had Souji really just vanished. Yuugi looked down, trying to hide the few tears that had shown up again. His eyes burned from all the crying.
"We should go ahead. Maybe there's something further along that can help us," Yuugi forced himself to sound calm, but it was clear he was rather angry and just as much if not more so depressed. He could see K1 clearly enough to get past him, thankfully he and Brigid were positioned in such a way that gave him a clear path. He didn't stop walking after he was past however, seemingly expecting K1 to follow.
The new light would allow K1 to see how white Yuugi's the knuckles of the hand Yuugi had around the sword were. He had a deathgrip on the weapon.

A deathgrip on the weapon. That never boded well. K1 glanced to the side. This was about the point when things went wrong before. He'd make a stupid mistake, and things would start going horribly wrong.
--------------------
Up in the entrance room of Yuugi's reality, Kikuri-Hime was waiting for the rest of the group to return. Instead, there was only Souji.
"Where's Master K1 and his short friend?" Kikuri-Hime asked.
"I need to get back out. I'll be back in a bit," Souji said. Kikuri-Hime assumed the worst.
"You didn't answer my question!" Kikuri-Hime was audibly freaking out.
"This won't take more than five minutes. Just teleport me out, Kikuri-Hime," Souji said.

Yuugi had managed to walk out of the reach of the light granted by the flame. He turned around and took a few steps forward so he could clearly see K1, assuming it would mean K1 could clearly see him, "I kind of need the light..." he muttered, his voice dropping more near the end when he got a clear look at K1's face.
He looked down at his feet again. He was batting a thousand here. He was concerned about Atem to the point that he was hurting his other friends. He didn't really know how to try and alleviate the situation without lying. As it was, it seemed he was back to awkard silence mode with K1.

K1 looked back up at Yuugi. "Sorry. Brigid, you follow Yuugi. I'll just follow behind," K1 ordered.
It was definitely back to awkward silence mode. What was this, the third time that week?
-----------------
"Kikuri-Hime-san, please, just take me back up to the surface," Souji said. Kikuri-Hime sighed, and Souji glowed with a white light before teleporting out of the TV World.
"They better be still alive, human..." Kikuri-Hime mumbled.

Yuugi waited until Brigid got a bit closer before advancing. He was trying to keep his eyes on the hieroglyphics. Places like this seemed to be filled with riddles, and that was one of the few things he excelled at. Riddles and puzzles. He couldn't guarantee he could read the glyphs right, but it was all they had to work with. At least he wasn't stumbling around in the dark now.
He glanced back at K1 for a moment before pulling out Nefertum's card. He wanted to be able to summon his Persona at a moment's notice. The going was fairly slow, he was taking each step as if he expected the ground to give way. After a while, they came upon a dead end. Yuugi paused and looked back. They'd taken a few turns and had to turn around several times, but he was fairly positive they'd covered all the ground.
"Did we miss a path?" he asked K1. He seemed to be a little calmer, and his grip on the blade had lightened. It almost seemed like actually staring the search had helped relax him.
(OOC: The answer is no. I haz a plan.)

K1 turned around. "I don't think we passed anything..." Well, that didn't bode well. A dead end, and Souji wasn't here, so he couldn't give his advice on what to do.
He once again kicked himself inwardly for being so stupid.
----------------------
Far down at the entrance, the door opened up again, and Souji limped back inside. There was the second wave of exaustion. That would be why he said twice in one day is a bad idea. He had to fight through it, though. Get the flashlights down to K1 and Yuugi.

Yuugi frowned and turned back towards the wall. There were some glyphs there. He'd often thought about studying hieroglyhpics more back home. But between the tournaments, school, and the trip to Egypt, there hadn't really been time. He could see fairly clearly, so that wasn't the issue. He turned back to K1 after a few moments. His eyes widened and he looked down at Nefertum's tarot card.
He crushed the card in his hand and the object shattered as Nefertum rose up. Yuugi pointed to the wall, "I know this sounds nuts, but use Garu on it."
Nefertum gave no indication if he thought it "nuts" or not, but fact was he didn't. Yuugi seemed to not quite grasp that his Persona's thoughts matched his own. The Persona held out its staff and the green mist of Garu swirled around it before shooting into the wall. A flash of energy (not light) was the reaction before the wall vanished. Nefertum returned to card form, and a set of large stone stairs were revealed.
"I knew it!" Yuugi sounded almost happy as he turned back towards K1. He quickly frowned, "I hope Seta-kun's okay..."

"Yeah..." K1 mumbled. He was still feeling rather guilty over this whole thing.
"Maybe we should go look for him again, just in case," he said. He turned to face the dark hallway, when he noticed a light coming down the hallway. "...Is that a flashlight?" K1 asked, as the owner of the flashlight rounded the corner. Souji waved weakly. In one hand was a Radio Shack bag filled with flashlights and batteries. He looked like he was going to collapse on his feet.
"W-Wait, you went back outside?! But you said--"
"Yeah... it would make me more exausted than I already am," Souji said. "Looks like I didn't need to after all."

Yuugi turned towards where K1 had indicated. If it was a flashlight, it seemed only half as effective as it should have been. This world really seemed to try its hardest to swallow sources of light. It didn't appear to be effecting Brigid's fire, so it was possible it effected light not based in magic, only.
Yuugi looked extremely guilty and ran over to Souji. This was his fault. He tried to help support the taller teen, "You really didn't have to! I-I mean..."
Yeah, he did. Yuugi realized this. The way he was acting had probably made Souji feel like his hand was forced. He looked away, meaning he had to look down if he didn't want to catch the expressions of the group. He really was acting like a jerk. Souji had implied he thought Atem was bad earlier... but he hadn't. Souji was stressed, and Yuugi realized it was almost as much as he was. He just went quiet and stoic when he was stressed. Why hadn't he seen that before?
He opened his mouth to suggest they go back for the day, but shifted his thoughts before the sound came out. If Souji had gone this far, he didn't want the teen to feel like his efforts had been wasted, "Thanks for everything. I have an idea how this world works, I can take the lead if its easier..."
