Yuugi's love for puzzles tripped over the name Alucard and what he was thinking came out before he thought it might hurt anyone's feelings, "That's kinda cool, Alucard's name spells Dracula backwards."
Yuugi had no idea the irony behind that observation.

"That is true, considering that in folklore, Alucard is the son of Dracula... but he's denied it. He's kinda creepy, but his motives are good," Minato said.

"I have to admit, I haven't had much luck with creepy people. Pegasus, Yami Bakura, Yami Marik and even Marik before he came to his senses... Although Marik's motives really were understandable." Yuugi was counting encounters off on his fingers. There were several others he hadn't mentioned, but he was worried he'd overwhelm Minato.
Atem frowned. Marik's father hadn't handled things well, but that didn't make using his Millenium Item to possess Jounouchi and nearly get Yuugi killed "understandable". If Marik had gotten away with not fulfilling his duty, it was likely he would have never regained his memory. Yuugi sensed this.
"Although the other me and I have different opinions on Marik... How far is the hotel, by the way?"

"Not too far," Minato replied, "accidentally" tripping Michael again before he could respond.
Just wait until you're in a dress, you little asshole, Michael thought as he hit the ground again.

Yuugi turned around to make sure Michael was okay. It was like the guy was running around with untied shoes.
"Are you sure you don't want me to help you up?" he asked.
Atem was getting annoyed with Minato's actions and wished Yuugi would catch onto them.

"I'm fine," Michael said. "We play this game a lot, Minato and I... In fact, all of my 'puppets' have an animosity towards me... Not that I can blame them, though. I manipulate every action they make, every word they say... it's only natural they pull a fast one on me when they can."

"Huh?" said Yuugi. Michael's comment about puppets had thrown him. Even Atem was intrigued.
(OOC: Lame short, I know. XD)

"Let's just say everyone in this world has a puppetmaster... even those of us called the puppetmasters," Michael said.

"Oh, you mean like fate?" asked Yuugi as he glanced at Minato, "But doesn't that mean you write Minato's fate? That doesn't make sense..."
Yuugi had stopped walking by this point. Atem was a little annoyed at the situation. Michael was implying he was a god, which he most certainly wasn't.
(OOC: I get what you're doing with the whole "players" and "characters", but I have to keep my "puppets" in character too. XD)

"Well I write a sort of fate, yes, but there are certain rules at play to make sure I'm not a godlike being, the reason that Minato is able to actually attack me. Though I can manipulate certain situations, there are things I cannot manipulate. For starters, I cannot manipulate another master's creations. I couldn't control you, Yuugi, because it would go against the other master's wills, and thus that would be cheating the rules. I also can't manipulate the wills of my creations, merely the situations they are in." Michael sighed. "It's complex to explain, but easier to do, let's just say that."
"Or we could tell them the truth and say you're a deranged, neurotic psychopath and leave quickly," Tomoya said with a bored look on his face.

Atem scowled, and the annoyance he felt made Yuugi decide it was probably a good time to change subjects.
"Ah... so, what are your friends like? I can tell you about mine too, although you seem to know anything I could tell you. How about you Tomoya, you interested?"

"My friends... They're all really nice people, even though they have different ways of showing it," Minato said.
"Yeah... mine are pretty much the same," Tomoya said.

"My closest friends are Honda Hiroto, Jounouchi Katsuya, and Mazaki Anzu. They're kind of the same way. Jounouchi tries to put up a front of being tough but he's really nice. Honda's kind of the same way, although he's a bit goofier than Jounouchi. Anzu was one of the first people that stood up for me. I really got razzed about being protected by a girl," Yuugi was smiling. Even with his friends not there it helped to talk about them.
Yuugi left out the point that Jounouchi used to harass him. It didn't even occur to him, he had never really been bothered by it anyhow. People bothered by teasing didn't stand up for them they way he had. Yuugi smiled. That's when he had solved the Millenium Puzzle, although he hadn't really known about Atem for some time, just the blacking out. He was absolutely convinced the puzzle was responsible for him making such good friends.

"There's nothing wrong with being protected by a girl. Mikuru and Yukari were always able to help me during our mission in Tartarus and Fuuka was a great support as well, even though she was never in the front lines fighting," Minato said. "Your friend Jounouchi sounds an awful lot like my friend Junpei. He was pretty much the same way. He always tried to seem like the tough guy, but in the end, he was a great guy."
"Reminds me of Sunohara... though he was kind of an idiot," Tomoya replied. "At least Tomoyo fixed his sexism though. Managed to kick his head into the right place, I suppose."

Yuugi smiled, "Oh, I can't believe I forgot Atem! He's probably my closest friend. It's why I got so nervous when you mentioned..." Yuugi trailed off. He didn't want to think about it.
Atem couldn't help but smile. He considered Yuugi's friends his friends as well, but none of them came close to Mahad, Maya, Shadi, and the rest. Shadi was a ghost that had interfered with him for the right reasons as well as saved the day a few times. But really, they were all dead. Yuugi was the only one in the modern world he could compare to the friends of his past. It was a comforting feeling, in a way.
