(Soon after Fallen Hopes, Lovers' Quarrel)
A few days passed, days wrapped in a still quietness of the anxiety felt by all. And Marion had grown more upset by the hour, the longer she was seperated with her mother figure.
With this in mind, Double D slipped out in the middle of the night and took Trevor's advice.
The park was especially chilly that night. Double D pulled tigher at his jacket, readjusting the bundle of blankets in his other arm. When it stirred and whimpered softly, he gently shushed his child within.
"Hush, Marion...don't you worry... you'll see Mommy very soon."
Approaching the main fountain, the angel looked around carefully. As expected, at this time of night, he didn't feel a single soul close by.
All except one...
Carefully, as if Marion was made of glass, Double D set her gently on a nearby park bench, glancing around one last time before stepping away. He took refuge in a nearby tree, concealing himself within the foilage and watching his child carefully. He wanted to make sure Felix found her... yet was not willing to directly face him. Not yet.

As expected, Felix was wandering about when he felt the presence of two individuals, their auras familiar. Double D and Marion. He immediately made towards them, but only found Marion on the bench. He did not see Double D and, by this point, the angel had let his aura go. "... ... ..." He looked at Marion and smiled. I get it... Marion must've missed me. He walked over and picked the child up, smiling softly. "Hello sweetheart," he said softly, holding her close. "I'm sorry to have been gone so long."

Double D smiled softly above them as Marion cooed, snuggling close to Felix and crying out happily to her mother.
"Mommy...Mommy...Mommy...!"

"Yeah," Felix said as he held Marion close, smiling softly, eyes closed as he let himself bask in the moment. "Mommy's here, Marion."

Double D could only watch the scene with a warm heart, tears coming to his eyes. Oh, how badly he wanted to swoop down and join his loving family, assure them that everything was going to be alright, rain forgiving kisses on Felix's face....
...but no. It was too soon. The cut on his face was still healing over; he left it to natural healing, keeping the scar as a reminder to his cause...
And so, personal duty kept him up in the tree, though it ached at his heart so.

"Mommy... why aren't you with Daddy anymore?" Marion asked.
Felix sighed. "Well..." He didn't want to answer this, but the truth would be better. "Mommy and Daddy... need some time apart... It's not going to be forever, but... we've reached a big disagreement and... well we need this time to sort things out until we can get back together again."

Though heavy-hearted, Double D nodded to himself in agreement. He was glad Felix understood as well as he did...
He heard all the comments toward Felix, how others said he came off as cold, blunt, and stubborn as a mule... but looking over him, watching his tenderness with their daughter... if only the others could see the gentle angel Double D saw.

He didn't care what the others thought of him. He was doing this for all their sakes; if they didn't understand that, then it was their mistake. But Marion... Marion still loved him, still wanted that affection a parent had for its child from him... That was all that mattered.

Eventually, Double D shook himself, realizing that his duty was down and it was time to return back to his charges at home. He trusted Felix more than anyone with their daughter, so he decided it was only fair to let Felix have his time with her.
Almost forgeting about his power of invisibility, he triggered it on, vanishing. He then slowly, without a sound, slid out of the tree, casting one more glance at his lover. He blew a soft kiss in their direction, then hurried off for home.

"What should we do... So late at night, what can we do?" Felix wondered aloud, wanting to give Marion a fun night since it would probably be one of few nights she could visit Felix considering the tension that would be going on between him and Double D.

There was a soft grumble from Marion, and she frowned up at Felix.
"...food," she said simply.

"Hmmmm, where can we get food at this late hour?" Felix asked. "I guess I could always make some, but where could we find a table."

Surprisingly, Marion considered this, then smiled up at her mother, grasping the edge of her blanket. "Picnic!"

"You have your father's intellect," Felix said with a smile as he placed her down and laid the blanket out for them to sit on. "Now... what kinds of foods should I create?" Cakes are a must, of course.

Marion sat on the blanket, giggling as she rolled around on the soft fabric. She stopped on her back, looking up at Felix upside-down, and beamed, her arms flaring dramatically. "Potatoes!"
