Marion hummed in content. She reached out a hand towards the cakes, and one lifted into the air and floated into her hand. She munched on it happily.

Felix grinned and also got himself a cake before also chewing into it. The stars were shining brightly and he smiled softly. Of course, like everything else, not even a get together with Marion would be left in peace. Luckily for the girl, violence would not come, but Felix did have to look up as the white-haired man glared at them, Felix mostly. "Excuse me Marion dear," he said, putting Marion down for the moment.

"Hmm?" Marion looked up at Felix puzzledly. "...where are you going, Mommy?"

Felix didn't leave her sight, but he did end up in front of God. "So why are you here?" he asked.
"What a defiant tone," the man said. "Praise the stars... good of the island... you seem to be rebelling against me. To what end do I owe this sudden change of heart?"
"It's simple... Your orders led to this chaos. Thanks to you, I can't be with Double D anymore... maybe even never again. Do you think I'll ever be able to look you in the eye anymore and see my dear, beloved king? No... to me, you're now a tyrant."
"Such brutal honesty... just like Lucifer, who questioned my will to give humans their freedom. Would you defy me the same way he did?"
"I would not go against you... but no longer do I wish to serve you. I've spilled enough blood in your name."

Marion gazed up at the robed man in awe, wondering why they seemed so mad at each other.
Left alone on the blanket, she felt scared, whimpering slightly.

"You make me sound like an evil deity."
"Right now... you've made yourself look the part. Deceitful, cunning... cowardly..."
"Enough!" God looked pissed beyond reasoning. "So you seek to forsake me? Fine. The gates of Heaven will not be open to you... nor any of your friends or family."
"LEAVE THEM OUT OF THIS!" Felix was now the one to look pissed. "Your beef is with me, not with them! Touch them and I swear..."
"It is done... I hope your friends enjoy Hell," the man said before dissapearing.
"... ... ... Hehehehehe... Took all of this to reveal your true nature, didn't it?" Felix asked as his wings began to fade into black. Then he turned and looked at Marion, smiling softly, hoping she didn't hear them. "Sorry it took so long; that man and I had to talk."

(...okay, I'm imagining this God ain't the same as the one we're used to XD Seems kinda too egotiscal for Him to do. And how could he forsake Double D, he's the freaking Angel of Light! XD
...I sense quite an argument between the two of them...or at least an appeal from Double D. I don't wanna make him too angry, that'll go against his nature, not to mention purpose.)
"...Mommy...?" Marion looked terrified, shrinking a little. It almost seemed that she knew what they were discussing. "...what... happened...?"

(I have a plot twist for later to reveal that, but for now, let's just assume that that is God and he's become the bad guy.)
Felix shook his head. "Nothing baby... nothing at all... He's just cranky, that's all. He doesn't agree with something I did... just like Daddy and I didn't agree."

Marion was still a little scared, but accepted Felix's soft words of comfort all the same.
Halfway home, he knew something was wrong. He felt an anger spike, one that was gargantuan. Fearing for his family's lives, Double D had hurried back... and heard the entire argument.
"No...!" he felt himself breathe as Felix's wings turned dark. Why? How could He...how could He have been offset so much, just by an simple insubordination? Felix did what he was told, had already proven his loyalty by defeating his own lover, what ELSE did he have to do??
Still invisible, Eddward slumped against the back of a tree when he realized something. This... this is all my fault. He could've just accepted it, instead of let his morals overrule him. He had been obsessed with keeping Percy and Masahiro safe... and didn't even realize what that entitled him to do. If he had stuck with his pristine morals and told the truth, he would've horribly blundered in his very task of Guarding them. At least Felix did his God-given task without bringing any harm to Masahiro; why didn't he see that before?
Awash with guilt, Double D buried his face in his propped-up knees. All of this... everything... is my fault...!

(If you think about it, and if you've read the Bible, the Christian God is an egotistical jackass anyway =p However, the one the angels follow in my interpretation, so he's not overly perfect because even he has a weakness. Let's just say that, though no one else is any the wiser, God is being impersonated because his weakness is being exploited.)
Felix picked Marion up and held her softly. "Don't you worry about a thing Marion. Everything will be alright, so you don't have to be upset over it." What a lie. Parents had to lie to protect their children after all. In truth, he didn't know if everything would be alright or not.

(ahaa)
Marion hummed rather softly, beginning to fall asleep.
Trying to remain quiet and unseen, Double D once again got up and slipped away, distancing himself from them, as painful as it was. When he got a good distance away, he faltered, looking up at the sky, searching for something he couldn't find. Hesitantly, he lowered himself down to his knees, brought his hands together, and humbly bowed his head.
"Your... erm, Lordship...?" he ventured, not used to such contact. "I... I want to... apologize," he softly began, tears returning to his eyes. "All of what's happened is my undoing... I misinterpreted the Guarding responsibilities you've given me...I forced Felix into combat, blinded my own foolishness...I've caused this all this sorrow..." His lip quivered. "...I-I've made a terrible mistake...I-I'm so sorry..." A pause. "...as one you've granted wings to, I... I ask for your forgiveness...please..."

... ... ... Double D... Can you hear me? It might've shocked him to hear the voice instead of seeing him. Beware... the impersonator... he has my powers... he's sealed me away... Beware him, Double D... Find the key within the Angel Spring. Only you... can... save... His voicce faded.

Instantly, Double D's eyes shot open. "Wh-what??" He looked up, finding no one nearby. "Was that...?"
The Angel of Light hesitated for only a moment more. Then he truly did take off into the night, quickly taking wing and flying east. An uneasy feeling brewed in his chest.
My God... what's happening??

As Double D flew away, Felix noticed Marion falling asleep and held her close so the cold wouldn't touch her.
