Though it pained him to hear such guilt-filled words, Double D tightly nodded. He slowly pulled away, leaning in to place a chaste kiss on Felix's lips.
"I'll be waiting for you, Lillx," he whispered.

"I'll miss you... Ddwen," Felix whispered back.
"Hehehe... soul names," the rogue angel smirked. "Even God has a soulname, didn't you know? That's his weakness, the weakness Lucifer never found."
"Be silent, infidel," Felix said to the angel, turning to face him.
"Go Felix," God said. "Embrace Double D, be with him until he has to go home. I will judge the traitor."
"... Yes, Father," Felix said.
"HOW DOES IT FEEL TO LOSE YOUR PERFECTION LILLX!" the angel roared. Both Felix and God felt a sudden stigma of mental pain. The Angel of Light was second to none, but the Twilight Angel had powers blessed straight from God. So intertwined were they that they even shared the same name. God was unaffected by Double D's usage of the name; it was pure, innocent, and loving to Felix. But this angel intended to bring God down. It was also how he controlled Felix greatly, though Felix did not know this at the time he was being mind controlled. Nevertheless, both their souls felt assaulted and God immediately retaliated by blasting the angel with such power that he could not help but scream in the utmost pain.
"Be gone wretch... many a sin can be forgiven, but yours can never be wiped away," God said to the angel. "Hell will not await you... only oblivion." With that, the angel's body and soul broke apart as if they were glass, the pained scream echoing from the remains.

Double D turned away, hiding his face in Felix's shirt. He would not deny that the angel deserved such destruction for his sin, but he still did not want to watch...not with the memory of Shinichi's own destruction still in his mind.
Still, he held Felix closer, afraid to let go, trembling. "Lillx...Lillx...!"

The mental assault on Felix was healed in a soothing manner by Edward's callings of his name and he held the boy close. "It's ok," he said. "It's ok."

"Is it...is it over...?" Feebily, Double D peeked his face out over his shoulder, like a frightened child. He made eye contact with God, shrinking back slightly. "Are...you alright, my Lordship...?"

"I'll survive," God said, rubbing his head. "I was caught off guard when he first used it, to the point where he managed to seal me away. This time I knew what to expect."

Slowly, Double D nodded his head, completely understanding. "...it's a pain unlike any other other... it cuts into you deeper than any blade could..." He shivered at the memory. "I'm...so sorry..."

"Sorry of what?" God asked, eyes narrowing. "What you do not know, you cannot prevent. What you cannot see, you cannot stop. You did what you had to and you did it greatly. Are you sorry that your battle against this angel and your defeating him exceeded my expectations? To be honest, I knew you would defeat him, but I couldn't forsee how you would defeat him. To be able to call forth such great strength from others... you've really tapped into your abilities, Edward."

Double D blushed at the praise, turning away and giggling bashfully. "Oh my... th-thank you, my Lord...I...I try my best to earn these wings you so graciously gave me."

"Yes... continue to do so." God then sighed. "Another thing... beware the enemies of the Wizard."
"Hmmm?" Felix looked up at this.
"When I say the enemies, I do not mean your friends. There are others out there the Wizard has wronged who know about who he is... who you are. They will hunt you down, Edward... and they will tear out your heart."
"Urk! Can't we ever have some peace?!" Felix said.
"No, Felix... So long as mankind exists, peace is but a temporary state. You know as well as I do that on the human world, men will find reasons, simple and stupid or more complex, to start wars so that they can have the liberty and freedom of taking the lives of other men."

Double D nodded solumnly. "I'm well aware. You told me yourself that the traitorous angel wanted to destroy me. Was he one of the enemies you speak of?"

"Your power is already greater than that of any of the other angels here. The only one that somewhat equals you is Felix himself, whose power comes from me," God said.

"I...suppose you're right. "Double D paused, then laughed. "What am I saying, you're ALWAYS right."
Slowly, he got back on his feet, his hands still holding on to Felix's. "...I'd better return home, make sure the others are well. I'll come back for you after the miscarriage. We'll tell everyone you realized the error of your ways, and no one will be the wiser..." A difficult pause, his gaze dropped down. "This Guardian routine is tougher than I thought it would be...I used to blindly think that all lies were hurtful, but...I now understand that I have to live with it in order to protect my charge. Some lies... are meant to protect others."
