Reluctantly, he turned away, beginning his march towards the entrance back to the ground world. Here came to an end another great struggle, him, the glorious Angel of Light, the victor, carrier of great spiritual energy, warrior for all. He had just defeated their greatest foe and rescued their Lord and Savior. He was a hero, greater than ever before in his life.
Yet... the victory didn't seem whole. Not when he couldn't bring his love home with him.
Wait...just wait... he told himself, trying to find comfort in the faces of the grateful souls he passed by. No matter how much it aches...just endure the wait.
