Clyde gladly took Shantae's hand, lettingher lead him through town. "Okay! This town looks so neat!"

Shantae looked around as Clyde did, taking in her surroundings. The town did look like the kind of village she would’ve found in Sequin Land in a few ways. For one it seemed relatively old fashioned, with that slightly modern feel to it, maybe an Arabian theme here and there, and, like Scuttle Town and the other towns of Sequin Land the buildings appeared to be made of a type of stone brick (Though the Zombie Caravan was a general exception to this since it was easier to move around Sequin in wooden carts). “This really is an interesting town, I have to say.” As they walked around town, Shantae continued to keep a close eye all around for some place to stop and rest, in case she was going to be here a while.
After a bit, her eyes soon caught on to what appeared to be a building with the word ‘Dance Parlor’ inscribed on the sign. “Oh cool! A Dance Parlor. Didn’t think they had any outside of Sequin Land.” Looking down to the Shy-Guy, she smiled. “You see Clyde. I’m a really good dancer. Sometimes back in Scuttle Town, I danced at the local dance parlor to earn some money. Maybe it works the same way here.”

"Ooooh!" Clyde brightened up quickly. "I've never seen a human dance before! I mean, the Groove Guys dance a lot, but their dances are real silly..." he giggled. "Can I...watch you dance, Shantae?"

A small smile was the response to this request. "Well... I certainly don't see why not." Looking at the dance parlor's front door, she saw a sign on the door that said 'Come in, we're open'. "Looks like their open too. Okay, let's go check it out."
Walking inside the parlor, the two were immediately taken up by the sound of music. Looking to the front, the two saw what appeared to be a young couple dancing to a party tune, as the audience applauded the performance, some dancing along. Looking to the dance floor, Shantae let out a broad grin. "This really brings back memories. I'm really starting to miss Scuttle Town now..." Though her grin wavered she looked to Clyde, smiling a little wider. "Oh well, at least here I'll never be bored."
Looking to the guy sitting at the front desk, she signed her name on the piece of paper, that the dancers normally signed. "I'd like to dance myself." She looked to the man running the desk. "Hey by the way, do you pay the people that sign up to dance?"
The man was still looking at Shantae with a wide-eyed expression, possible he was a bit surprised to see a girl dressed in Arabian harem wear standing before him, but he recovered after a second. "Uh, of course. We get plenty of customers here, and the entry fee is more then enough to cover the cost." Shantae put down a few pieces of gold when she heard this. "Hope you enjoy yourself miss." That was when he noticed Clyde. "Oh. Friend of yours?"

"Eeep!" Clyde straightened up. "Y-yeah! I-I'm not here to dance! Just to watch her!"

Shantae nodded at the Shy-guys words. “Yeah, he’s with me. I even covered his entry fee.”
The man looked at the gold pieces a moment, before nodding, making the connection himself. “Ah so you did.” After a moment, he nodded and motioned to the mass of tables and chairs in front of the stage. “Well, go on and grab a chair then.” Shantae nodded before showing Clyde to a table almost right in front of the stage.
Once the boy had his chair, Shantae nodded. “Okay, now you just wait here okay? I’m going to go pick a song to dance too, okay?” With that being said, she walked out of sight, appearing to disappear backstage.

"O-okay!" Clyde nodded vigorously, climbing up onto the chair with some difficulty. He swung his feet and twidled his thumbs in anticipation of what was to come.

After a moment, Clyde’s patience was finally rewarded, as the current dancers left the stage, and a man that was obviously the MC of the parlor walked up onto the stage. “Ah, weren’t those two just peaches everybody? Come on give em a big round of applause, for coming up on stage eh?” Everyone present did just that, some whistling all the while. Obviously, the show they had put on was an enjoyable one. “Anyways everybody, I’d like you to put your hands together for our next act. She’s a beautiful little number that has only just recently arrived here in Lofty Ridge and Dimensional Island as a whole. So let’s be kind and give her our undivided attention. Give it up for miss-” He took a moment to look at the name. “Oh! Miss Shantae!”
After a moment, what appeared to be a kind of techno sounding Japanese beat started playing in the background by a stereo system. At first it started slow, but as it did Shantae made her way on stage, head lowered… Slowly her foot tapped in rhythm to the song…
Ay, iyaiyai Ay, iyaiyai A-a-a iyaiyai
Where’s my Samurai?
At that line Shantae lifted her head, with a grin and began dancing along with the song that followed, using belly dancer like movements, along with some more modern dance-steps. As the song went on, Shantae really began to get into it, showing her superb dance steps one after another with the greatest of ease, and the greatest of efficiency. Many people cheered, many people wolf-whistled, many stared on in envy (Though most of the last one pertained to some females, as they caught their dates staring with slack jawed awe).
[The song in question is called ‘Butterfly’ and it’s written by Smile.DK. Here’s a Youtube video I had pulled up when I accidentally came across this song.]

Underneath his Keaton mask, Clyde was beaming ear to ear. He began to laugh in glee at Shantae's performance, clapping his hands in tune withthe music. "Yaaaaaay! Go Shantae, go!!"

Shantae was only encouraged to dance even more as the song entered the first stanza. The techno beat mixed with the Japanese undertones, Shantae had to admit, she had thought she wouldn’t be able to get into this song at all… Boy was she wrong!
‘I’ve been searching for a man, All across Japan, Just to find, To find my samurai!’
A good amount of the male audience was wolf-whistling at this point, loving every moment of the show. Some of the males that were already with a lady love were rewarded with slaps to the face, some with getting their toes stomped. It would’ve been a pretty comedic show if it was on stage.
‘Someone who is strong but still a little shy, Yes I need, I need my samurai!’
As the song accelerated into the chorus, Shantae followed suite with quick dance steps and body movements, easily keeping up with the change. From where he watched, the guy manning the front desk had to admit; he was impressed. The girl definitely had spirit, and she wasn’t a half bad dancer either. And it was obvious that the audience more then agreed.
Chorus
‘Ay, ay, ay, I’m your little butterfly! Green, Black, and Blue, Make the colors in the sky! Ay, Ay, Ay I’m your little butterfly! Green, Black, and Blue Make the colors in the sky!
--------------------------------------
After the song, Shantae bowed to the audience, whom were going positively nuts at this point. “Wow! Well didn’t that just beat all everybody?!” The MC appeared at that, motioning to Shantae, as she continued to bow. “For her debut night, I’d more then say she’s really blown the roof off this place! Come on, another hand for Miss Shantae!!” The audience wasted no time to grant this request.
With that done, Shantae walked off stage and joined Clyde at the table she had left him at. She appeared a little winded, but otherwise okay, grinning slightly.
“Well? What’d you think?”

Shantae grinned a little at the praise, “Thanks Clyde. That sounds like quite the compliment.” With that made clear, she sat herself down. “Glad you enjoyed yourself here, cause I know I did.”

"I did! I really, really did!" Due to his small size, it was easy for him to hop onto the table and flop into Shantae's lap, hugging her tightly around the waist.
"...I enjoy being with you a lot too."

Shantae wasn't sure what to make of that movement for a moment, but after a bit, she put it off, and patted the little guy on the head. "Awww, thanks Clyde, that's so sweet of you."
She smiled a little; anyone looking would've likely thought that Shantae was something of a motherly figure towards Clyde, and the girl herself knew that as well, naievety aside.

For a while, Clyde didn't want to let go. This was just... so perfect! No feelings hurt, no scary characters... all was right in the world. He could've stayed like this forever!
But still... he couldn't stay in Shantae's lap forever; she had to get up at some point! They had to return to the Mask shoppe, get his old mask back, and... and...
...home was calling too. Someone had to be worried about him... right?
He shook the uneasy thoughts away, Shantae's face cheering up his gloom quickly. "Do you think the Mask guy is done yet?"
