The doctor nodded as the decision was made and lead Luka to Gakupo's room. It wasn't more than a few steps, anyways. She gestured for her to go inside, "We're keeping an eye on him from another room. Take your time," she smiled before walking off.
Gakupo seemed almost peaceful as he lay there. His hair had been covered with blankets, and his katana was laying to the side of the room. The remains of his shirt they had been forced to tear to get under was sticking out of a trashcan. His breathing was regular, which was good, but his face was slightly flushed. A few bags of ice had been placed around him, and it seemed to be helping to regulate his temperature.

Zero had kept track of the Vocaloids through a different method than usual. The manager's phone system was linked into the communication network of the island. It was seperate from Mandark's surveilance systems, making it easier to keep a lock on the group from there. He had shifted back to the surveilance for a visual display when the blip stopped moving and had seen the exchange between Kaito and the other Vocaloids. It was a rather useful development.
Kaito hadn't taken his answer well back at the mall, but it was obvious the young man was having some emotional turmoil. Zero didn't have to read the conflicting data in the Vocaloid's system to see that. His expression told it clearly enough. However, Bonsai Village didn't have much in the way of obvious computers aside from the hospital, so he had to observe for a while before using one of Mandark's concealed cameras to surface. As it was, the timing was perfect as Kaito ran past the space between buildings just as he solidified his human form. The Vocaloid seemed to be running blindly.
Well aware that Ren might be following him from how nosy the younger looking Vocaloid had been, he chose to leave the area from the other side. As it was, it allowed him to step right in front of Kaito. If the Vocaloid wasn't careful, he'd smack right into Zero. At least Zero had enough awareness of the situation to seal off his viral abilities. Now that he knew how sensitive the Vocaloids were, he could prevent a touch from causing any problems.
(OOC: Aka Kaito won't get hurt in any fashion beyond the impact. Zero's purposely preventing the virus from spreading to him if he touches.)

Luka walked into Gakupo's room and sat down in a chair someone had set up next to the Vocaloid. Most likely left there by the last inhabitant of this room. Other than Gakupo's breathing and the sound of a heart monitor, it was silent. Smiling, Luka bent over and brushed a stray hair that had been uncovered out of Gakupo's face.
After that, she stopped smiling.
"Gakupo, I know you probably can't hear me right now," Luka said. "But this is as good a time as any. I know I've put you through a lot of crap over the past year. And the reasons I've done it's pretty stupid. I didn't want to believe that you were doing all of this for me. Learning english, the eggplants, all of that. So, to hide my own feelings, I've been putting you through a lot of crap."
She sighed. "But I can't keep lying to myself. I love you, Gakupo. And I know you love me back."

At the time, Kaito couldn't think of anything but to get as far away from the others as he could. He was sick of it. He was tired of being run over by road rollers for kicks, forced to be Miku's slave, and then when he finally showed his true self, almost getting Gakupo killed. He was sick of it. So he ran.
Kaito ended up running smack dab into Zero, and fell over on his buttocks due to it. He looked up at the virus, and his face went as white as Zero's clothes.
"H-How did you... but you were... that's impossible!" Kaito said.

Rin waited with Miku and looked outside, Len was gone as well as Kaito. "Miku, do you know where Len and Kaito went?" Rin asked with a slight worry in her tone.

Len continued to run, he couldn't find Kaito at all. He just kept running still unable to find Kaito.

Gakupo shifted right before Luka finished quite possibly one of the cutest speeches ever, but she missed it. However, after saying she loved him his eyes had opened. He looked over at her slowly, quickly realizing where he was at. He blinked a few times.
"Did you say something?"
Yes, Gakupo spoke. It was pretty harsh sounding, worse than what would be sung by him by someone completely useless with computer programs. It made it hard to understand, what with the heavy mechanical twist to it, but it was sound.

Zero was actually knocked to the side as well, but he used the side of a building to catch himself. He brushed a stray hair out of his face as he looked down at Kaito, offering his hand.
"I have ways to get around. You alright?" the Vocaloid was flustered, that had to be why he hadn't asked about Gakupo. The violet haired Vocaloid had seemed near death when Zero had stopped focusing on that part of the group. He kept his eye on Kaito's, trying to discern any emotion from the blue haired young man.
(OOC: You know what pale faces can lead to if the author is so inclined? Obvious blushes! XDD You know, if you want. Of course, it also allows obvious flushes if Kaito decides to rage...)

Luka's eyes got all watery, she fell out of her chair, bent down next to Gakupo, and gave him the biggest hug she could. It was probably a good minute before she let go of the Vocaloid, tears streaming down her face as she did it.
Once she did let go, she blushed, and then smacked Gakupo across the face.
"Don't ever make me worry like that again, you jerk!" Luka scolded.

Miku shook her head. "I'm worried... let's go."

Reluctantly, Kaito took Zero's hand, giving a slight blush as he did so. That blush turned straight to anger right afterwards, though, as Kaito reached into his jacket.
Only to remember the knife wasn't there anymore. Luka had it.
"What the hell did you do to Gakupo-san?!" Kaito yelled.

Len continued to run, he still couldn't find Kaito anywhere. He was a little worried that Zero found Kaito, since he already saw Zero was able to escape through computers he assumed he could also exit doing so as well. "Kaito! Where are you!?" Len yelled out as he ran looking though all the alleyways he passed.

Gakupo blushed a bit as she embraced him, although it was hard to tell with the way his face was flushed from the fever. The time she kept a hold of him allowed him to relax, and he smiled, looking at her eyes as she blushed. Only to lead into being smacked in the face.
He winced more than was usual, but tried to force a smile. He opened his mouth but only some garbled noise came out. He frowned, realizing his voice wasn't just poor. It was still weak and didn't seem capable of saying much. He gave one of his silly grins to Luka, with as much of a shrug as he could manage in the bed.

Zero raised an eyebrow at Kaito's blush, but it quickly turned to a scowl as Kaito got on the defensive. He jumped back as Kaito reached into his coat, but paused when the hand came out empty. He glared at Kaito.
"I made my get away, he was in the way. The way you worded that, you mean to tell me he's still alive?" He smirked and continued before Kaito could respond. There was more than one way to cause someone's mind to snap, "I tried to kill him. No different than what you were doing earlier."
He made sure to emphasize that last part. About Kaito threatening to take Gakupo's life. Kaito had shown a rather weak point, and Zero was now driving a figurative dagger into it and twisting for all it was worth.

Luka gave a small smile. "You should stay in here and rest up. I'll be back later." With that, she got up and turned to leave. Just before walking out the door, she turned back to face Gakupo. "And if you tell anyone what I said to you, I will force you to take a bath in miso soup. With extra leek. And there won't be an eggplant in sight."

Somehow or another, Miku ended up running into Len. "Len! Where's Kaito-san?"

Kaito froze, and then ran up to punch Zero in the face. "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Damn you!"

"I don't know, I... got into a argument with him. And he ran off, I'm worried if that guy from before found him. Knowing that the person can escape using computers, we have to find Kaito or he might end up like Gakupo." Len said worriedly. Rin listened and was worried that Zero found him as well.

Gakupo paled a bit and nodded, "T$&*(," he coughed, and frowned. With the way his voice was, he couldn't give the response he wanted. He saw Luka was still staring and smiled with a wave, hoping she'd leave.

Zero didn't even looked like he was trying as he shifted his head to the side. Kaito's fist contacted with air, and Zero sidestepped, "I'm just stating facts. You think your friends will take you back after you tried to kill them?"
Dagger number two was just inserted, although this was more of a seed. If Zero could get Kaito to doubt his friends enough, he might lose his ability to trust. He waited to see the Vocaloid's reaction before continuing. He saw several possible outcomes, and had a plan for each one. Truth was, he was enjoying the hell out of himself. The Vocaloid was teetering on the ledge of sanity, if he could just get the wind to blow in the right direction, he could knock him off... And if things worked right, he could guide the snapped young man in his descent.

Luka closed the door behind her, and walked out into the hallway, only to find Miku and Rin were gone. After checking outside, she didn't find them nearby the van either. Kaito and Len were missing too.
This did not bode well.

Kaito's face paled again, as he remembered what Miku had said to him earlier. And how no one had talked to him during the ride up there. After all, it had been his fault about what happened Gakupo. He'd been the one that had tried to kill Gakupo. Because he tried to kill Gakupo, Gakupo had ended up getting that virus.
Could he live with that guilt.
"You're a bastard..." Kaito said in a low voice.

Miku heard what sounded like Kaito coming from a nearby alley. "I think I hear him... this way!"

"I never denied it," Zero said as he walked foward, keeping focus on preventing virus transfer from touch as he harshly grabbed Kaito's chin, "But you have to ask yourself. Would you rather pretend to be someone else with those who claim to be your friends, or would you rather be true to yourself and what you want?"
The author is well aware its a good thing Midori is not here at the moment. Because the way Zero was holding Kaito's chin and the proximity between their two faces made it seem a little more like a yaoi scene was about to occur than was healthy. Especially considering the way Zero's harsh gaze was locked with Kaito's slightly frightened one.
(OOC: I hope you don't mind me taking a touch of control over Kaito to make this epic scene of ZOMG work. XD
Gakupo is in the hospital, pretty removed from action.)

Kaito flinched when Zero pulled his face close, and beads of sweat hung from his face. Most of all, he was feeling genuinely afraid. But... he had to admit Zero had a point. Ever since he met the other vocaloids, all he'd been doing was putting on a mask. Lying to them.
"...I guess... I'd rather be my true self. This whole time I've been wearing a mask... just putting on an act for my friends..." Kaito said. But before he could pull himself away from Zero, Miku had walked into the scene.
She had just seen everything.
She screamed, and backed up.
"Kaito, you..." She seemed unable to form coherant words at the moment.
"Miku! This isn't what it looks like!" Kaito said, but Miku seemed inconsoleable.
"You've been lying to us this whole time!" Miku said. The tears streamed out of her face for what had to be the third time that day. "So that's why you tried to kill Gakupo! You're friends with this... this monster!"
