Gin blinked as Kisa asked if he was human. He gave a small smile and tried to laugh. "No, I'm a satori. But Enjin... he was human," Gin explained. He was thinking about what Kisa said, though. An odd space of time where people turned into coffins? And it seemed to be really dangerous too, from what this girl was saying.
He suddenly got a horrid sense of foreboding, and wheeled around, looking toward a strange tower in the distance. The thing... seemed to be made of clocks. It looked like an MC Escher painting come to life. And something about it scared Gin. He wasn't sure what, but it did.
"What is that place?" Gin asked without realizing it.
----------------
Abel wheeled around as he heard a familiar voice. A voice he had only heard once before... when he'd nearly gotten his ass kicked by a certain demon lord. Abel's eyes widened as his vision confirmed what he'd thought. Standing just a few stairs down was Lucifer, or at least, his human form. Abel's heartbeat accelerated, and he nearly tripped up the stairs.
"L-Lucifer," Abel breathed. He was trying to will his heartbeat down, but unlike Seth, Abel had no practice in such things. He'd never had to worry about giving off the kind of fear that would attract demons before encountering Lucifer.
"You!"
Abel turned as he heard another familiar voice. Standing at the top of the stairs was Adachi, who looked simultaneously freaked out, pissed, and depressed. Abel looked toward Lucius, and then took a step to the side.
"Why don't I let you two go talk things out?" Abel said, managing to keep his voice steady as he did so.

Kisa nodded with full understanding. Gin was... she thought for a moment, and her mind clicked. A specific type of demon. It was a bit unsettling, but he didn't seem bad. Almost like a puppy, and for a moment she almost giggled due to his wolf-like ears. She managed to get it under control as Gin suddenly turned around. She looked towards the tower as he spoke and averted her gaze. She stepped up beside him.
"I don't know, and I don't think I want to... it feels like... like Death," she held her hand to her chest as if it hurt and shook her head, "And that danger I talked about, its concentrated there. I can feel it from here. For a few months its been there, and I just wish it would go away," And then she paused, looking at Gin. A horrible idea crossed her mind, ".....You... need this time to surface, don't you? Hiizumi-san mentioned making someone's spirit leave their body when he indicated that scar. I think... I think he may have meant you..."
----------
Nyarlathotep noticed with great amusement Abel's reaction. Some King of Demons, showing fear to the person before them. The 'teenager' was masking his energy to some degree, but he wasn't doing it completely. When Abel had noticed him, it had even flared a bit. Past aquaintances? When Abel stumbled up the stairs, Nyarlathotep flew to the side to prevent getting run into. Lucius raised his eyebrow at Abel's reaction, and had taken three lightning fast steps to close the distance when he stopped at Adachi's shout. Lucius paused and looked towards Adachi. Well, that was why he was here... that maelstrom of negative emotions had all but called him, after all.
"Of course. I still don't approve of eavesdroppers, mind you. Go away," he lifted a hand and made a motion as if he were shooing away a fly. Without waiting to see if Abel had intentions of complying, he looked at Nyarlathotep. If Abel was in the right position, he'd see Lucius' eyes slit and a demonic grin from on his face.
"And I'd like to talk to you later. Providing your 'king' has no objections," Lucius turned to Abel with that same face and continued speaking as if he were talking to Nyarlathotep with the first sentence, "Although he seems unwilling to maintain that position any longer. Its a pity that his world's demon realm is ruled by such a spineless coward, really..."

Gin sighed as Kisa voiced an idea that had occurred to him as she spoke. This was his first time being awake during this time that he could remember. But the facts that he was aware of was that the Hiizumi he'd been sent to find had attacked him, he was now waking up in a strange place, during a strange hour that only occurred at a certain time of the day, for the first time in what seemed to have been a long while. The scar wasn't a new one, that much was easy to see.
"I think I might... I don't remember anything before now other than when Hiizumi attacked me," Gin said. "He must have used his tuning abilities to suppress me for so long... And normal humans can't be awake during this time. So that's probably why I'm awake now."
He gave a pained smile at that. How much longer did he have until this time ended and Hiizumi took over his body again?
------------------------
Abel ground his teeth at Lucius' statements. He was provoking him, and dammit, it was working. Abel was still scared out of his mind, there was no denying that. But that little show of weakness had caused Lucius to start walking all over him. He looked even more panicked and angry (mostly angry) as Lucius not so subtly asked Nyarlathotep to at least consider working for him. That had to be why Lucius wanted Nyarlathotep to come talk to him.
Finally, Abel turned around and started walking down the stairs. This wasn't the place to fight. "Nyarlathotep, don't even think about it," Abel snarled as he continued walking.
Once Abel and his companion were gone, Adachi turned toward Lucius. He looked just as angry as Abel had when he left.
"What the hell did you do?!" Adachi yelled. "I wanted you to get the Ring but... not like this! You beat Anpu into a bloody pulp! You gave me that ring knowing Ryou was in it, didn't you?!"
Oh yeah. He was definitely mad.

Kisa looked away and hung her head. So this kind person was trapped thanks to that awful one? Was he that Enjin's av... no, he'd said Enjin was human. A.. human had forced a demon out? She realized she was staring at Gin and blinked and turned away suddenly. She sighed, knowing she'd pretty much broadcast things. After a few seconds of tense silence she looked back towards him.
"What's... tuning? Is there any way to counteract it?"
----------
Nyarlathotep was amused at Abel's reactions. He was like a dog here. He couldn't claim to know what previous encounter the two had gone through, but the demon knew for a fact Abel had shown ground there. And he'd shown ground here again. If the teenager before them was Lucifer, and there was no reason to believe otherwise, then Abel really had fucked up. How very human of him. How very undemon, more precisely. And with the way his power was suppressed lately...
Nyarlathotep looked over towards Adachi for a moment as Abel pretty much stomped down the stairs. Lucius was "kind" enough to deign to let Abel past. He looked up back towards Nyarlathotep. There as an essence to that demon he somewhat recognized from the world he was most strongly attached to. It was merely a piece of a larger whole, and weaker as a result, but... he smirked a bit at the demon and gave a shrug. Nyarlathotep paused for a moment before flying after Abel. If he wanted him to not think about it, then he needed to start acting like the demon king he was. If he'd only embrace his powers...
Lucius turned to Adachi as he began screaming at the top of his lungs. Normally, it would be enough that everyone on his floor would be completely aware of him. However, the sound wouldn't transfer to any apartment. Lucius cracked the knuckles of his left hand. He needed Adachi alive and well if he was to be of use. And he had promised to protect the man from Izanagi, so there was always that. Even with the power he was expressing, none of it would reach Izanagi. He'd lived quite long enough to have full mastery of his powers, after all.
The demon in human form gave a knowing smirk. His eyes remained slitted. For about sixty seconds he said nothing. He just listened to the man's raised heartbeat, felt the emotions radiating off him. The main one was pissed, but there was regret there too. One of his other toys had tried to warn Adachi. That one had made the smart choice to abandon his warnings. After letting Adachi stew for that time of silence, he spoke. His canines looked almost like fangs, an illusion he was giving purely for effect.
"I did nothing but what you asked, Adachi Tohru. You told me you wanted the Ring, I made sure you received the Ring. Anpu's condition is a fair bit regrettable, but he was not inclined to hand it over to me willingly. I'll have to say he and his companion put up quite a fight for how much power I had to lend my servant when he retrieved it," The smirk widened, "Of course I knew the one inside was the teenager named Bakura Ryou. But Tohru, you never specified whom you wanted within. I make it a point to not assume. I fulfilled, and am fulfilling, my end as you requested it."
"If you wish to file a complaint, I would be happy to teach you the rights a chained dog possesses," Lucius now carried a psychotic glee in his eyes, and he looked downright vampiric, "Remember, Tohru... your road to hell was paved with good intentions."
(OOC: Lucius has got his powers completely blocked from Izanagi and anyone similar. So if you intend on having Souji/Izanagi come out, you'll need a really good reason. XD)

Gin gave a pained smile as Kisa looked away. This kind girl seemed rather concerned for him, but there really was nothing she could do.
"Tuning is... well, you know when you tune a radio, you adjust it to a certain frequency, right?" Gin explained. "In my world, there's two dimensions, the world where humans live, and the Afterworld, where demons are supposed to live. What tuning does is it adjusts a demon's frequency to the Afterworld from the world of the humans. However, I think that Hiizumi must have found some other use for it... It's the only way to explain what's going on here."
He shook his head. "I really don't understand what's going on either, but as far as I know... it can't be counteracted unless you somehow force Hiizumi out."
---------------
Adachi began looking more regretful than angry as Lucius spoke, but the anger was still there. The worst part for Adachi was that just about everything Lucius was saying Adachi already had known. Lucius had known that Bakura was the one inside the Ring, and it was only because he hadn't specified who he wanted in it that things had ended up the way they were.
Once again, he felt his eyes get drawn to those horridly slitted demon's eyes. There was no way anyone would mistake Lucius for a human at this point. Those eyes, and those fangs... They certainly looked like fangs to Adachi at least. He managed to pull away from their tug just as Lucius informed him that he'd gotten here through good intentions, good intentions that were now going to get at least one person that Adachi cared about killed.
"Shut up!" Adachi yelled as he pulled out his gun and pointed it right at Lucius. His hands were shaking. He wasn't quite sure why. His heart was beating a bit too fast for comfort, too...

Kisa tried to look like she understood what Gin was saying as he spoke, but had a feeling she wasn't doing very well. She somewhat understood the idea of life force frequencies, but she still felt very confused. And she was more concerned with the fact that Gin didn't think anything could be done about Hiizumi's position of the boy. She looked towards the tower again and looked pained. That thing had to go. It would consume them all if it didn't go, somehow she sensed that. But if the air was an indication, without that tower this time wouldn't exist. If this time didn't exist, Hiizumi couldn't be suppressed.
"I'm trying to understand this, my apologies if I'm not getting things right. You are saying that Hiizumi-san is able to cause this... tuning, right? Are there others that can do it? Wouldn't it just be possible to..." she put her hands together in front of her and pulled them apart, "Unsynchronize you and Hiizumi-san?"
----------
Lucius straigthened up and smiled. He looked at the gun as if he was bored and the smirk widened. His mouth was finally closed, but the expression was terrifying. He took a single step towards Adachi and gestured towards the gun.
"Shoot me," he commanded.
Commanded. He wasn't forcing Adachi by any means. With the conversation at hand, he trusted Adachi would remember their little deal. He would make a request, Adachi would follow. He looked up from the gun and stared straight into Adachi's eyes, expectedly waiting for the attack. Adachi would have no way of sensing the spell Lucius cast around himself, let alone the specific way he guided it.

Gin scratched the back of his head at that. "...Maybe. But as far as I know, only Hiizumis can tune people... Maybe if Akina-kun was here, we could do something. But I don't know if he is or not... And I don't know if he'd be awake during this odd time."
It was a dilemma, and one Gin knew they'd have to solve soon. How much time had passed? Thirty minutes? Forty five? He didn't even know how long it lasted, but it couldn't be long. He just felt more helpless than he ever had in his life.
------------------
Adachi's hand's continued to shake, and he gulped. Their previous conversations were beginning to come back to him. If Lucius gave a request, he'd follow. And Lucius wanted him to shoot.
Slowly, his finger closed on the trigger.

Kisa hadn't been keeping track of time either. Even for how long this time had been going, her memories of it were always fuzzy. She always lost track of time, and after a few nights she had begun to just hide in her room and wait for it to end. She always left when she felt the dangerous presences nearing by, but she never went far. For a moment she worried she'd forget Gin, and then for a moment felt it was better, but both thoughts would push aside. No, something this important she wouldn't forget... and she shouldn't. Something had to be done, and if she remembered she could try to figure out what.
"I can look for him," Kisa suggested, "I've lived in this world all my life. If you think he can help, I can look for him. Please let me, tell me what you know about him."
----------
Lucius smiled as Adachi's finger pulled down. He didn't transmit the thought, but his mind was thinking one thing. 'Good boy, Tohru'. He held up his left hand as soon as he saw the finger closing, the palm parallel to where he guessed the general trajectory to end. He'd seen enough guns fired that he could read the weapons well. It wasn't the only thing he did. He let part of the cloak he had surrounded Adachi and himself with drop at the instant of the shot, meaning the entire apartment complex would hear the gun fire.
Izanagi and his avatar would be more than aware of the noise, although his demonic presence remained sealed. Lucius had said he would protect Adachi from him, but once more Adachi's lack of specificity would come back to haunt him. Protect could be as simple as not letting the god and his avatar kill him, it guaranteed nothing in the way of preventing attacks.
In any case, the bullet fired and in a second at most reached a space less than a centimeter in front of Lucius' hand. In almost slow motion enough energy dispersed to release a crackling sound that quickly segwayed to the sound of breaking glass as Lucius jerked his hand to the side and up. The bullet bounced off a flash of light that shimmered around Lucius and returned back to Adachi. The man was only human, the odds of it not hitting him in his right shoulder were pretty much impossible. At best, it would pass clean through and do minimal damage. At worst, Adachi would badly need a doctor.
----------
Atem had looked back towards the television after five minutes. It was off, and he had heard no display. One theory confirmed. He let out a tired sigh and walked over to a folding chair near the door. He had sat down in it and fallen quickly asleep. Not much later, however, the sound of a bullet firing had been heard throughout the entire complex.
Atem was on his feet in seconds and jerking his head towards the door. Anzu had let out a shout and jumped to her feet, stumbling and having to catch herself on the couch. Yuugi had jerked awake and was looking around panicking, quickly realizing everyone around him was awake. Jounouchi had jerked up in bed, but seeing as how he was alone in the room he lay back down. He was about ready to pass it off as a dream when he heard Yuugi shout from outside the room.
"Was that a gunshot!?"
----------
Teddie, who as on the same floor as the shot, pretty much flew off the couch. He fell down and hit his bottom hard on the floor, but he ignored the sudden pain and scrambled to his feet. That had been an extremely loud noise and was disturbingly like when Naoto used her weapon. A gunshot, that had been a gunshot. He whirled on one foot towards where he'd seen Souji out of the corner of his eye. His face was plastered with worried panic.
----------
If Adachi wasn't too busy being in shock, he'd realize Lucius had dropped his demonic look and now looked human. He gave a suspiciously amused glance towards Souji's apartment door. He spoke one sentence.
"Protection is an open ended word, Tohru."
And then he vanished in a burst of flame, leaving the injured Adachi to deal with the coming confronatations.

Gin looked positively elated as Kisa offered to help look for Akina. Not just because Akina could help him, but because Akina was his friend. A friend he hadn't seen in a very long time.
"Akina is..." Gin rubbed his head. His thoughts weren't very clear. "Akina is.... augh..." He could feel himself slipping. Something was wrong.
------------
Adachi's eyes widened as the bullet hit Lucius's hand. Except it didn't. He knew this was going to happen the moment Lucius commanded him to shoot. The bullet bounced off of a shimmering shield and flew back at Adachi with blinding speed, catching him in the shoulder. He screamed and fell back. The bullet had lodged in his shoulder, and he was bleeding fairly badly. And the pain... he'd had gunshot wounds before at the hands of that Naoto kid, but the adrenaline then had overridden the pain. But right now, he was feeling every bit of pain he should be with that kind of wound.
His eyes widened as Lucius spoke and looked toward Souji's door. "No... you said you'd protect me!" Too late. The fallen angel was gone, and Adachi was lying there with a bleeding shoulder. He'd dropped the gun when he'd been hit, too, and with that kind of wound, he wouldn't be using this arm any time soon.
-------------
Souji had heard the gunshot all too clearly. Right now, he looked just as panicked as Teddie did. That had been a gunshot. Island or not, that was not good. Without another word, he ran out into the hallway.
-------------
Minato had been waiting for the Hour to end after the end of Bakura's Midnight Channel program. He sure as hell hadn't expected to hear a gunshot from just down the hallway. After an indecisive moment, he ran outside as well.
-----------
Naoto and Kanji had both been... asleep. Not like anyone had actually bothered to inform them about the situation with Bakura. The fact that they heard a gunshot from upstairs had been enough to wake the two of them up.
"What the hell was that?!" Kanji yelled.
"I don't know. But we better investigate," Naoto said, and jumped out of bed.
-------------
When Souji, Teddie and Minato made it to Adachi, they found him grasping his shoulder in pain, with it bleeding out pretty much everywhere. He looked like he was in shock, really.
"What the hell happened?!" Minato asked. Adachi shook his head.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," he breathed.
"...Is this about what happened on the Midnight Channel?" Souji asked. Adachi didn't answer.

"Nanami-san? Nanami-san, are you alright!?" Kisa ran up to Gin and grabbed him by the shoulders. She looked up at the sky. How much time. How much time!? She shook her head and looked up towards Gin's eyes, "Nanami-san, come to 324 Gold Road tomorrow night during this time! I'll help you then! Do you understand!? "
She'd realized that the time was probably exactly what was wrong. This odd time was fading, Enjin was about to wake up. Kaiba was about to be in danger again, Gin was about to be suppressed again. If it was as close as she thought, there was a chance the world would shift back to normal as she was speaking. That's why she'd forced her address out before anything else. There was a chance the world would return to normal as the last parts were coming out and Enjin would surface with her on her shoulders and no idea something had happened aside from her suddenly being right next to him and grasping his shoulders with a look of extreme concern on her face...
----------
"Anzu, get Jounouchi-kun!"
Atem gave his shout before yanking the door open and running out of the Apartment. Yuugi had gotten to his feet by this point. He looked at Anzu and muttered a quick apology before running after Atem, headed through the empty door. Anzu had no idea what was going on, but Atem only sounded that urgent when he was dead serious. She ran towards the bedroom just as Jounouchi was opening it. She spoke right over his asking what happened.
"Yuugi heard a gunshot and went to look into it with Atem-kun! We have to go!"
----------
Teddie, human form, had barrelled out of the apartment after Souji. He had gone bug-eyed as he saw Adachi. The man's shoulder was bleeding. He looked at Souji. He hated the man, but still... he'd been shot. He glanced at the gun on the ground, his observation skills not good enough to realize it was Adachi's.
"Sensei, I think whoever did it dropped the gun!"
"What the hell happened!?"
Atem had skidded to a stop as soon as he reached the second floor landing and saw the display. Yuugi had almost run into him, only managing to avoid it by throwing his weight to the side and landing on the floor. His eyes widened as he saw the gun, his trail of vision quickly going upwards. All ideas of animosity were lost as he saw Adachi's condition.
"Adachi-san are you okay!?"

Gin's eyes had gone unfocused as Kisa grabbed his shoulders. It was clear he wasn't quite hearing her. He heard the address, and that was just about all he heard before he slipped out of awareness again. The sky had turned from the harsh green it became during the Dark Hour moments ago, and now a very confused Enjin had come back into awareness. He blinked at the girl grasping his shoulders and yelling something about how she'd help him. Hadn't she been over there a few minutes ago.
Without a word, he activated Satellite again. Flashes of a conversation that had never happened flashed across his mind. A very confused "Enjin" waking up during a strange time with coffins and blood. And this girl asking about... Akina.
"324 Gold Road, hm? I'll have to remember that," Enjin taunted. "I would love if you could find Akina for me. He shouldn't be hard to miss. He's always surrounded by women and has an odd sense of justice."
And with that, he turned around and placed his glasses back on his face before simply disappearing. He would reappear on top of a building behind Kisa.
"And remember, if you hurt me, you're hurting that poor, kind satori too," Enjin taunted. He then disappeared from that rooftop as well, leaving only Kisa, Kaiba, and two venomous demon snakes.
----------------
Adachi was not happy about this situation. It looked like all of Seta's friends were coming his way, and right now he was in too much pain to do anything about them. And just to make things better, the Tatsumi kid and the Shirogane kid were coming up the stairs. Kanji's eyes widened as he saw Adachi's condition.
"Holy shit," Kanji breathed. The man had been shot. Naoto was already assessing the situation. The angle of the fallen gun, where Adachi had been shot, how the blood had splattered where the bullet went in, the type of gun... She approached the gun and bent down to examine it further. The gun was a standard issued pistol used by police departments... and Adachi was in the police.
"Adachi-san, tell us what happened," Naoto ordered.
"...It was..." Adachi bit his lip. If he told these kids, he'd get in even more trouble than he already was. "...Like hell I should tell you brats," he growled under his breath.
Souji glared at Adachi as he said that. "Tell us what happened, Adachi!" Adachi glared back up at Souji.
"He said he'd protect me... from you," Adachi snarled. He was still grasping his shoulder in pain. It was bleeding pretty badly.
"I'll call an ambulance," Minato said, and ran back to his apartment. Souji continued to glare at Adachi.
"Who told you that?" Naoto asked. Adachi didn't answer her.

Kisa was pale. She always had been. She burned, but never tanned even as an after result. She would have been pale for a Caucasian, let alone for her Japanese lineage. So when it is said she paled as Enjin repeated the address back to her, one has to realize just how white she turned. The color of ivory or the very definition of blanche. Her body had locked up and her fingers had stiffened when the light had changed. She barely even heard Enjin inform her to find Akina, and no resistance was given to the man as he pulled back, turned around, and put his glasses on.
Kaiba's brain had gone for a jolly trip as well. As soon as the Hour had ended, he had surfaced with no idea an hour had been lost. Normal reaction. What he did notice was that the girl was grasping onto Enjin's shoulders. He heard the few words passed by the man and saw Kisa's reaction. It all read she hadn't been grasping his shoulders on purpose, or she'd thought he was someone else. While that wasn't out of the question if you walked the route of split personalities, what was was the fact that she'd just appeared there and even Enjin's pose had been slightly off.
With a hiss from both snakes, Kaiba jerked his head to the side. Whatever had happened there, he had to deal with this now. However, he was having trouble focusing for how much danger the idiotic white haired girl had put herself in. The few seconds of focus on the snakes had gone away when Enjin teleported away and informed Kisa that she'd be hurting that "poor, kind satori too". Now demons were being referenced? He felt the movement of wind and his eyes widened, barely managing to avoid it as one of the snakes shot its head forward. In fact, he didn't quite, and some of the venom was now eating through his left armlet. It was his hiss that alerted Kisa back to the situation at hand. She whirled around and her eyes widened.
"Seto-sama!"
It was to Kaiba's benefit he had been called that many times in his life by his various guardians as he grew up, and a handful of his employees. Otherwise his mind might have completely tripped. He was struggling with the clasps on his armlet, hissing as his fingers brushed against the venom and burned, but not enough to cause more than a wipe on his jacket and more struggling. The other snake then flew at him, and Kaiba had the sense to throw up his already damaged armlet to block the attack. The fangs went in just a bit, enough to basically insert the venom into the armlet. It was now eating itself from the inside out, and Kaiba could feel the burn beginning on his arm, which meant it had begun to eat through the long sleeve of his shirt. All this had taken maybe five seconds.
"SETO-SAMA!!"
And at this point Kisa's mind had shut down and her spirit had hit auto-pilot mode. Her eyes lost focus and her aura pretty much exploded. Kaiba's eyes jerked up and widened as he felt a warm spot in his right jacket pocket, the place he had tucked the three Blue Eyes, White Dragons earlier. Even he could feel something immense coming off of Kisa. A few arcs of blue lightning flashed about twenty feet above Kisa in a manner that resembled an overly flashy short circuit and Kaiba heard a roar he'd heard many times before. After all, he'd given special care to the programming of certain monsters, and Blue Eyes was one of them. The man all but broke as above Kisa nothing less than that specific dragon appeared above her.
For all his skepticism, Kaiba wasn't stupid. As he saw Blue Eyes pull back his head, he had the sense to drop to the ground. The venom had eaten through his left armlet enough by this point that the impact of hitting knocked the thing clear off, and it skittered on the ground into one of the snakes. The force had even gotten the bit of venom that had gotten on his sleeve rubbed on the ground, preventing more than the bit of burn he'd already gotten.
The Blue Eyes the girl had seemed to summon opened its mouth and a beam of bright white light shot from it. The Destruction Burst Stream was wide enough to easily hit both snakes, and carried enough force to pretty much disintegrate the suckers from the mid point up. Beyond the snakes, a huge chunk of ground flew into the air from the impact, and as the last of the attack faded one could clearly see a divet crater in the asphalt of the street a good five feet deep.
Kisa's legs buckled and she passed out even before the attack had quite fully faded. The White Dragon had vanished in a flash of light at that same instance, and the heat from the pocket of Kaiba's jacket was gone as well. After a few moments Kaiba lifted his head and his eyes widened as he saw the two remaining halves of the giant snakes limp around him. The attack had apparently been hot enough to instantly cauterize, not a drop of blood had fallen. Kaiba Seto was actually rather pale as he forced his head to turn to where Kisa's body lay.
If he'd had much in the way of breath, he might have drawn in a sharp breath. He couldn't get his body to move for a solid ten seconds, but after that he forced himself to his feet, ignoring the minor burns on his left arm. He gave a disgusted look at the snake bodies before climbing over the top of them and running over to the girl. After his hands hovered over her in a moment of hesitation, he lifted her up into a position resembling sitting. A moment of spiked panic of fear that she was dead passed, and he felt her neck with his right hand. A pulse, thank god.
All of this was probably more than a bit interesting if Enjin had chosen to continue observing...
----------
"Yuugi, is everything okay!?"
Jounouchi's shout came from further up the stairs. That area of the stairs was pretty crowded by this point. Yuugi realized what Jounouchi being there would mean, and he was suddenly spinning around and holding out his arms. Anzu gave him a confused look and slowed down to a stop. Jounouchi didn't seem pleased with Yuugi's decision, but came to a stop as well.
"Yuugi, didn't you say you heard a gunshot?" Anzu asked.
Yuugi hesitated for a moment, but nodded, "Don't worry, Minato-kun is calling an ambulence! Someone... well... Adachi-san was shot and..."
"Wait, Adachi!? The son of a bitch that acted like he was your friend!?" Jounouchi shouted.
"Jounouchi, shut up!" Atem ordered with a glare. Jounouchi's eyes widened at the sudden command, and Yuugi gave a faint nervous laugh. The former Pharaoh walked into the hall and kneeled down in front of Adachi after giving Naoto and the gun a glance, "I don't know what happened, Adachi, but I have a feeling Naoto will have no problem telling the police about the details of this. You can't lie forever."
"Adachi-baby's being an idiot again," growled Teddie.

Enjin gave a wide grin as the situation unfolded. So that was the power that lurked in Kisa. The girl's stalker (for that was what he was at the end of the day, even with Kisa's obvious feelings for him) had been in danger, and she reacted accordingly by summoning a dragon from her soul. It was really a shame that she'd killed those snakes, though. But they could be replaced. It wasn't like Enjin had gone into this expecting them to survive after all.
It was only after Kaiba ran to check that Kisa was still breathing that Enjin finally left. Well, wasn't that curious. What was even more curious was that conversation with Gin he'd managed to pick up on from her thoughts, but the thing with the dragon was just the icing on the cake.
He stopped once he was a fair distance from the scene and pulled back his coat's collar, exposing the large scar on his chest once more.
"...So, it seems you're not as suppressed as I thought you were, hm?" Enjin taunted. "I wonder if you can even hear me now... Or how much control you have."
He pulled out the box cutter and pointed it right at the scar. "It would be easier to just nip things in the bud, and make sure this doesn't happen again, wouldn't it?" He gave a larger smirk as he placed the box cutter back in his pocket. Like it or not, he had to keep Nanami's spirit around because of how his satori powers were linked to it. He wouldn't be able to use them without Nanami.

Adachi continued to stay quiet until Atem spoke, and even then it took him a few moments to respond. But he didn't need Shirogane running off and telling the cops about this. He was in enough trouble as it was. It was a good thing they thought Takahashi was insane was all he could say...
"It was Lucifer... you guys all know him as Lucius Starr... I tried to shoot him," Adachi said. "But he had some weird spell up, and my bullet reflected back. And hit me here." He lifted his hand up, revealing the wound on his shoulder again.
"Why did you try to shoot him?" Souji asked.
"Because... he was the one who attacked Anpu to get the Ring back. I... wanted him to get me the Ring, so I could get rid of it for good. I made a deal with him to get it," Adachi said wearily.
"You... you made a deal with the devil?!" Souji asked. His tone changed to that of an angry one. "What the hell made you think that was a good idea?!"
"Sempai, calm down," Naoto ordered. "So you got the Ring, and threw it into the other side, not knowing that Bakura-san was inside."
Adachi sounded pained as he responded. "I just wanted to help him... the only way I could. But all I did was made him even more sad. And dammit... now he's going to... This is all my fault!"
Souji stared down at Adachi. It was all that man's fault. But the one thing he couldn't believe was that Adachi had, from the sound of things, sold his soul for Bakura.

Kaiba carefully stood to his feet, supporting most of Kisa's weight on his right arm. His lower left arm still hurt from the acidic burns. He made sure to carefully support her with his good arm before digging into his pocket (unknown to many, the outfit was riddled with them) and pulling out a cellphone. It wasn't as good as the ones he had back in his home world, but he had to make do without an entire corporation to back him. When the first three numbers failed, he frowned and tried 911. This time it connected. The stupid Island apparently used America's emergency system rather than Japan's.
----------
Atem's eyes widened. He knew of Lucifer rather well. After all, he had been a figure in the legends of the Hebrew slaves when he was Pharaoh. And Atem wasn't slow. While he wasn't regarded as much in Japan, he picked up a lot. The concept of selling one's soul was a universal one worldwide, as well. Yuugi had given a blank stare as Adachi spoke, and his first action had been to look towards Atem. He saw that Atem wasn't doubting Adachi's words, and it made him very nervous.
"Wha-what..." Anzu whispered. It wasn't loud enough for most of the group to hear, and the few that did ignored it.
Jounouchi gave a low whistle as Adachi revealed exactly what had happened. So the guy was fucked, then? He looked towards Atem who seemed to be thinking about somethign rather intently. The Egyptian teenager stood up and looked at Souji.
"Let him be. He's suffering more for his actions than we could ever hope to make him ourselves. Minato is calling an ambulence, that's all that matters."
Atem turned and slipped past Jounouchi and Anzu, heading up the stairs. Yuugi walked forward and pulled his vest off. He wasn't wearing his school uniform, but he did have a cloth jacket. Without allowing others time to object, he bunched the fabric up and held it up against Adachi's waist. He looked towards the man.
"You did that for Bakura-kun...?"
"Yuugi, maybe you sho-"
"Jounouchi, shh."
Jounouchi had begun to object as soon as Yuugi pulled the jacket off. Anzu cut him off. She didn't know the full situation, but what she had seen of Adachi wasn't bad. He'd royally screwed himself over just to save Bakura? No one willing to do that could be all bad. Teddie was glaring at Adachi as the conversation happened, and then suddenly something seemed to click.
"Sensei! Lucifer, is he connected to a bunch of things like stars and gold and blood and stuff!?"
Teddie knew of a Persona by that name. Lucifer. And wasn't it of the Star Arcana? And it was one of the most powerful Persona? Souji had used it once, and it was one of the most powerful he'd ever used. During the time he'd spent on this side, he'd picked up things. The connection of pentagrams and such... Teddie had just hit realization straight on the head. After all, Lucius had been on the other side then...
----------
"Another accident!?" One could almost hear the operator on the other side of the line shaking their head, "Nevermind. We've got lots of vehicles. We'll get someone there right away! Thank you for the call!"

Minato sighed and put the phone back down on the receiver. Two accidents in one night? Something must have been going down in town, or something. Without another word, he ran out the door and back into the hallway.
--------------------------
Souji looked toward Atem as he spoke. After a moment, he nodded. He didn't object as Yuugi pulled off his jacket and pressed it against Adachi's wound. Adachi looked up at Yuugi as he asked his question, and nodded.
"Why else would I do it? Not like I've got anything else I'd sell my soul for," Adachi said. He gave another wince at the pain. "I've done a lot of stuff for that kid... I even stole that poison from the station so that bastard Anpu wouldn't hurt him further."
Souji narrowed his gaze. The poison Anpu poisoned me with, he thought to himself. He turned as Teddie asked if Lucifer had anything to do with blood and stars and things like that.
"...Yeah, he is," Souji said. "He's the Christian Devil, so it would make sense that he's connected to things like that, right?"
Minato made it down to the others at that moment. "They're sending an ambulance," he said. He looked down at Adachi, who was still bleeding fairly badly.
