Gantz grinned at the result of his little experiment... At least until he noticed Kyle wince at his healing. 'Curious...' Maybe the blood pact Oni made with Kyle made him somewhat vulnerable to the healing spells as he was. Sounded plausible... But was it to a degree where if he used too powerful of a healing spell it would end up hurting Kyle too?
With these thoughts in mind, the boy decided to stick with Cura spells, thinking a Curaga spell would be saved until it was ABSOLUTELY necessary. "Gotcha Double D!" He turned to the others, grinning. "Come on guys! Let's go kick some demon butt!!"
Tarosuke grinned at the comment, sounded all, well and good to him. "LETS!!!" He immediately rushed forward, energy flaring up in his index finger. He quickly jumped out of the way of a claw swipe and tried to aim a rei-gun at Oni; however, the demon must've known better then to let a Spirit Detective, demon though said Spirit Detective may be, catch him off guard. Quickly Kyle was placed between Tarosuke and the shadow demon. "GOD DAMMIT!!!!!"
"YIN HEAL!!!!!"
Wally seemed to be taking Gantz's example and was firing out his variation of Cura spells at a frantic pace. "Hey mate! You look like you could use a little sunlight!! YIN HEAL!!!!" After throwing out that piece of humor, he fired out another heal spell.
With Yin, she appeared to figure out what strategy she should go for as well. So why wasn't she attacking?
To be blunt, she was gathering energy. "Maybe I can end this once I gather the needed power to do it." Just like Yin; having learned battle tactics from her brother she was being smart about this encounter.

De'Marcus and Waddle Dee were putting up a fight of their own. With Kyle trapped inside Double D's forcefield, they could finally get into the fray and fight like they needed to. Waddle Dee was slashing at Oni the best he could with his parasol, while De'Marcus was kicking Mr. Orange at Oni with probably the most powerful soccer kicks on Earth?. Seriously, the Orange was on fire they were so strong.
Oni was looking like he was about to fade away... but at the same time, Kyle was still looking like he was about to pass out. Oni was having to drain what energy he could to stay in a solid form.
Kyle looked up at Double D, and then looked at the forcefield, and then his eyes widened.
"No! He can get in here!" Kyle yelled. Oni turned around, and licked his lips before starting to fall back into Kyle's shadow. If no one hit him now, he'd get into the force field Double D had set up... and then it would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Double D blinked as Kyle began to panic. "H-huh?"
He quickly looked back, immediately understanding as the shadow sunk in closer and closer...!
"GAH!" Double D got to his feet, straining to move both Kyle and the force field away from Oni, but he crawled closer still.
This was not good. He couldn't risk letting the field go for Kyle's sake. But if Oni got inside...!

Tarosuke was figuring out what was going on before anyone else could. Must've seen cases like this often. "STOP HIM!!!!! If he merges with Kyle we're all in SERIOUS TROUBLE!!!!!!!!!" He fired off a Rei-Gun at Oni's rapidly disappearing body, managing to clip off a small piece, but missing the rest of the body. "DAMMIT STAND STILL!!!!!!"
Gantz meanwhile had just made the same observation as Tarosuke, just not out loud. "Hold it right there demon!!!!" He started charging a Curaga spell...
At least before a gigantic burst of holy energy caught his attention. "Huh?"
Right behind him, Yin had went completely and utterly Seraph. She now bore angelic wings a gigantic energy ball of pure uncontaminated holy energy over her form, and her eyes glowing pure bright white, like energy was trying to escape from her own eyes.
[glow=Yellow,2,300]"YOU... WILL NOT... TOUCH THAT CHILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 'DARKNESS BANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'"[/glow]
A point she made quite vividly when she tossed the ball of energy right at Oni, and since it was big enough to cover almost the entire temple foyer, it was pretty much a given that Oni would be slammed full long no matter what he did.
"HIT THE DECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!" That was the only thing Otto needed to say before everyone hit the floor, bracing themselves for what was likely to be an explosive finish.
[So it's clear, Darkness Bane is a spell that can only harm dark type beings, and I'm more then sure Oni qualifies. XD]

Oni had gotten pretty damn close to Double D and Kyle before Yin let out her yell. He whirled around as he felt the burst of holy energy. If it was possible for a shadow's eyes to widen, his sure did before the explosion of light energy hit him. The demon let out a scream that was better described as an inhuman screech before the shadow dissipated under the weight of the explosion.
Waddle Dee and De'Marcus definitely hit the deck. Mr. Orange didn't, due to not having any limbs to hit the deck with, so he got flung across the foyer. Kyle was already pretty close to the deck, so there still wasn't much he could do.
When the explosion finally disappeared, Oni's physical form was gone, and Kyle's shadow returned back to a normal human shape. He looked around at the others.
"...You guys..." Kyle said. "...You made Oni leave? No one's made him do that... ever." Oni wasn't gone for good though. He'd just retreated back into Kyle's shadow to rest until he was strong enough to emerge again. "I'm sorry."
De'Marcus stood up again. "What're you apologizing for?"

Double D let out a quivering breath, trembling a little atop Kyle, as he had huddled over the boy to protect him.
That had been close. That had been too darn close.
Sighing, he finally let the field go, his head aching minimally. Trying to think of how close to death he was was making it hurt even more, so he shook it a little, rubbing his temple. Really, now. It wasn't like he hadn't gone through it once already...
He looked up just as Kyle spoke, and his pain ebbed away while his heart softened.
"Oh, Kyle, it was no trouble at all," he gently assured, helping him sit up. "A little dangerous, yes, but that wasn't your fault. And honestly, it wasn't any worse than what most of us go through on a daily basis." He patted Kyle's chest, checking him physically again. "Are you alright?"

Yin took a moment to catch her breath, before calming down. After a moment, her energy appeared to calm down, and her wings vanished into her person, likely she only ever used her wings when they were absolutely needed.
Gnatz himself had to catch his breath too, since that explosion had knocked the wind out of him and near everyone else. "Whoa..."
"That, ladies and gents," Came Wally with an accepting face, like he had seen that before somewhere. "Is why you never piss off the guardian deity of light." He got back to his feet having said that.
Once on his feet, Tarosuke bowed respectfully to Mistress Yin as she passed. "That was an impressive display Mistress Yin."
"Humility does not seem to suit you either Tarosuke." She giggled at the boy, while the spirit detective coughed with embarassment. With that handled she walked over to Double D and Kyle. Smiling a warm, motherly smile she held a hand down to Kyle. "You have no reason to wonder why it was that we banished that demon, even if just temporarily. Any good hero would have done that. Though I am glad I could have lent a hand in rescuing you. More often then not, I do not get the chance to do that. My form is bound to this place, and to the vassal to which I grant my power."
As Gantz got back up, he dusted himself off, before taking a careful look around. Likely he was trying to find the first best place to look for the weapon needed for Soul's new body.

Kyle was still shaking a bit, and he still looked a little drained, but he nodded. "Y-Yes, thank you..." He didn't respond to Double D's previous statement, though. It was his fault, everyone was just too polite to say so. If only he could hold Oni back... if only he had more control over the being controlling his shadow... Even now he felt the thing at the edge of his conciousness, still laughing.
Kyle flinched away from Yin as she reached out her hand. "I-I'm sorry... I know you helped me, but..." He shook his head and stood up on his own. He was still wobbling a bit as he stood.
"W-Wait, so that Oni guy isn't dead?" Waddle Dee asked. De'Marcus shook his head.
"There's a couple different versions of possession. There's codependance, which is what Sunglasses over there's got going on, straight out possession, which involves the spirit completely overriding or forcing the original soul out, but can be undone, and then there's the blood pact. Blood pacts are like possession, but they're a bit more complicated. And a soul linked to another by a blood pact can't be separated. Right?" De'Marcus asked Kyle. The green haired teen nodded.
Kyle looked over toward Double D. "I'm really sorry... you all did what you could to help me, but... it's not really helping anything. It doesn't change the fact that Oni's still there, waiting." He looked a bit depressed. "Things were always bad before, but after Oni made those deals with that man with the red sunglasses and that lobster clawed man..."
Waddle Dee looked up. "Lobster-clawed man?"
De'Marcus spoke at the same time. "Man with red sunglasses?"
They both knew who Kyle was referring to. Flamel and Him.

"Yes... thank you, Yin," Double D smiled gratefully at the deity. "I was... in quite a hairy situation for a moment, there..."
He frowned down a Kyle at his discouragment. "Kyle, I... I-I'm so sorry... all of this sounds so terrible..." Still, he feigned a smile, patting Kyle's head gently. "...but he's kept at bay now, right? That's the best thing we can do for you now... especially if Oni has dealings with the likes of those two characters." His gaze came up to the others. "... which brings us back to our purpose here."

Yin looked sorry for Kyle, knowing Blood-pacts as well as De'Marcus did. That didn't keep the spirit from feeling sorry for him.
When Double D spoke, Otto was the one to respond. "Yeah." Clearing his throat, he turned to Yin, crossing his arms, bowing slightly. "Mistress Yin; you likely already know why we're here, but just to recap, we need a powerful enchanted sword that Soul Calibur can use as her new body." With that being said, he motioned to Gantz. "If we don't, that codependence Gantz has going on could soon enough get serious."
Yin nodded, understanding. "I understand." She turned to Gantz, catching the boy's attention. "Do not explain the rest, I already know the rest of the story. Being the deity of heroes, I often make it my business to know about these kinds of things." With that said, she thought a moment. "My brother is the one that watches after the treasure room, I believe. Let's go and talk to him and see if he has something of use."
It appeared Gantz already knew this, nodding at the suggestion. "Yeah..." Looking to his hand, he frowned a little... He probably wasn't surprised to feel it go numb before the numbness went away just as quickly. "We'd better hurry."
Wally looked at the boy with a narrowed gaze. "Did you feel something, mate?"
Gantz shook his head, "There was a little numbness, but I don't think it's anything bad yet." He walked ahead of the others, already knowing how to traverse the temple since he was the one who made it. "But, just to be safe, let's pick up the pace."

De'Marcus grumbled as he followed after Gantz and friends. He was pretty sure why Gantz's hand was numb, and it was for the same reason he mentioned once before. "I'm tellin' ya, man, that codependance stuff is baaaaaaaaad shit..." Mr. Orange, finally catching up to the rest of the group, bounced after De'Marcus, bouncing alongside the hedgehog who looked like--
...Oh like hell I'm gonna make that joke again after what happened the last time.
Kyle looked a little confused, but he followed after Gantz all the same. He had come to this temple once before, but that had been years ago, before he'd been kicked out of school due to... well, you could probably guess. He hadn't been kidding when he'd said that his life had gone to hell thanks to Oni.
He hadn't been paying too much attention to the others until he went over the previous conversation in his head. And even though it took him a moment, he realized who Yin had been referring to. Oh. Yang. Somehow, Kyle doubted it would be a good idea for him to get close to a deity of darkness like that. But it wasn't like Kyle had anywhere else to go now.
"I hope we can find Yang soon. I'm getting worried about you, Gantz," Waddle Dee said.
"Shoulda just waited for Tree... not like she ain't trying to find you anyways," De'Marcus complained. He wasn't sure what Tree's beef was with Gantz either. Or what this big network of people she was claiming she had was all about either. The only reason De'Marcus had come was because Tree had blackmailed him.

Double D sensed Kyle was growing uncomfortable, so he remained at the boy's side during their walk. He grew a little concerned for Gantz, though gave the boy beside him a small smile.
"Don't worry yourself. Yang's dark power kind of unnerves me a little too. If you want to, you and I can wait just outside the treasure room while they deal with their business with Soul Calibur."

After a short walk down the hallway, Gantz and Yin appeared to stop before one of the few doors in the hallway, awaiting the others to catch up. "This is it, Yin-sama?" Helga asked, looking curious.
"This is one of the few doors leading into the Treasure Room, yes." Yin nodded, motioning to the door. "In truth, there are several entrances to this room around this temple. But that aside, once we enter here, I must ask you not to touch anything. Yang will know if you do." She giggled a little, "He's usually such a dramatic deity, but you do not want to make him mad regardless."
At this Tarosuke nodded, "Of course, madame."
After a second, Yin opened the door...
On the other side of the door, there lay a wide open room filled to the brim with ancient artifacts with various degrees of history and worth. All of them appeared to be well looked after, as their wasn't the slightest speck of dust on anything. As the gang looked around, Tarosuke was quite sure he spotted what looked like the Holy Grail sitting atop a pedestal not too far off, and relics of various symbolism for religions yet unknown, to those there. Among these were jewels, statues; on one pedestal there rested a sword known in a world far-away as the 'Sword of Heroes'; Gantz easily recognized the sword from Kung-Fu Panda, though just what the sword was doing here was beyond him.
Amidst all of the treasures, one could find a figure that was easily a mountain of a man; tall, muscular, wearing Dark silver battle robes, with pure jet black hair that reached the bottom of his neck. Yin walked up to the man, before tapping his shoulder. "My brother, we have guests."
The figure turned, revealing that he was holding a piece of cloth and had been just finished cleaning off an artifact that looked like a mystical rod. Looking to Yin, the man had the sharpest blood red eyes one could ever see. Yang frowned at the interruption, before placing the piece of cloth down. "You could have mentioned that sooner sister," He easily had to look down to get a good look at the members of the party behind Yin. For those with sensitive magic senses, Yang let off an intimidating aura, though he appeared to be holding back his true aura, which likely would've been powerful enough to make even the most stalwart members of the gang cringe. "What is it that you want?"
After he asked that question, he appeared to give everyone a good once over... Before his eyes fell on one specific person. "You..." Yang growled when he saw Gantz, "I thought that I smelled your stench earlier, you heathenous excuse for a holy sword. What is it that you are doing here?!?"
[Before you ask, he WILL notice Kyle in a little bit, energy like his would be hard to ignore I think.]

Kyle jumped a bit as Double D spoke to him again. He gave a small smile, even as Double D said he'd wait outside if they had to.
"I don't want to be a bother..." Kyle said. But he nodded. "...Okay."
When the group reached the treasury, Kyle looked toward Double D for a moment before heading to the side of the doorway. He'd heard about Yang... and even though darkness wasn't neccisarily the same as evil, it still empowered demons. Kyle didn't know how it would effect Oni, being around a powerful deity of darkness like that, but Kyle wasn't taking any chances now.
Waddle Dee looked at Kyle for a moment before continuing in to the treasury with the others. Poor kid looked like he'd been through a lot.
The treasury had been just what De'Marcus had expected it to be: full of junk. Well, these things usually were. When Yang turned to face the others, especially Gantz, De'Marcus got the feeling Yang wasn't really glaring at Gantz. More like he was staring in to his soul. De'Marcus also got the feeling that the person typing this post had used that description recently and needs to stop using that in regards to people with other spirits resting in their bodies, souls, etc.
When Yang called Soul Calibur a "heathenous excuse for a holy sword", De'Marcus burst out laughing. "Yes! About time someone said it! I like you, Mr. Yang." He grinned toward the god. Waddle Dee glared at De'Marcus before refocusing on the current situation.

"It's no bother at all. I'm sure they don't need all of us to find what they're looking for." Double D assured, waiting just outside with him. He remained at Kyle's side, though still peeked in past the doorway to watch their encounter with Yang unfold.
He pouted a little at the deity's clear insult; so what if he was a deity, it was still impolite! Especially after everything Gantz had been through. Though he kept quiet, no sense in bringing attention to themselves when more important business had to be done.
