Atem had been unwilling to explain the situation to Haytham beyond that fact that he was correct about his Hebrew assumption and that Abel was a demon. There had been a fair bit of awkwardness as Atem had gone back to Japanese. It eventually ended with Haytham leaving. Atem hadn't liked how it had played, he'd still wanted to inquire about several things. But he wasn't stupid enough to think Haytham had gone for good.
After some deliberating, it had been decided to hand the Torque and Scale to Abel. The Eye was still needed in regards to the Ring. They couldn't give that to him because it was probable Bakura was trapped inside. From there had been a lengthy discussion on which would cause the least potential harm. The Torque was chosen due to its apparent tendency to choose when it gave visions. The Scale was chosen as a second item in relation to its potential harm to the others. Atem didn't feel comfortable with Abel having potential access to mind control, and both the Rod and Key were capable of granting that when used right. The most the Scale could do to Atem's knowledge was tilt based on the darkness of one's heart and cause fusion. The former was fairly useless in modern contexts, and the latter was an ability Abel already possessed due to his COMPs. Perhaps not with Ka, but Atem was not blind to high chance Ka were a form of demon.
The base issue would exist with any of the Items, especially in regards to Atsuro's apparent knowledge of their homeworld. If Abel could pass the base protection of the Items due to his power as a demon, he would be able to run Dark Games. Atem had chosen to take Yuugi's word that Abel wouldn't do that. And while it was quite possible Cain would, he was merely human. The group had split up after the decisions were made. Atem and Yuugi had gone together towards the hotel and were now on the floor of the Bel Court's rooms. Abel would be aware of the presence of three of the Items given his and their nature.

Abel was not in the best of moods at the moment, and honestly couldn't wait for this day to be over. This was the worst Christmas he'd ever had, and that was saying something considering the time he'd nearly burned the house down trying to make a Christmas cake. First he'd been assaulted by Lucifer and Seth had not only nearly been killed, but he'd found out about his markings. Then Seth and Atsuro had nearly been killed by Dark Malik. Honestly, Abel wasn't choked up about what he'd done to Dark Malik. The man had it coming. He couldn't hurt anyone else now. He'd been so pissed off then that his pupils had remained slitted even after the incident was over. Atsuro had to tell him they were still slitted for him to even realize they were.
It didn't change the fact that Abel felt like shit. He felt like everything that had happened to them for the past few months was his fault. The grand majority was, really. Even in the past month or so, Nyarlathotep's desertion, Lucifer's targeting of them, Nirad's death, and just about every incident regarding his demon-human conflict was his fault. What hit him the worst was the fact he was realizing now it had taken his limiter breaking for him to realize all of this. It wasn't doing much for his stress levels, and he really didn't want to do anything other than lay down right now.
What stopped him from actually doing that were the presences of a few demonic objects he felt a few floors below. One he recognized all too well. That meant at the very least Yuugi (or someone wearing the Puzzle...) was there. He stood up from where he was sitting on the one unmade bed in the room and headed for the door. After a moment, he decided to grab his cape and pull it on. Maybe it was Yuugi, but Abel was beginning to realize just how much he needed to exercise his authority.

The door opened just as Yuugi was lifting his hand to knock on it. Atem's expression was less aggressive than usual for all of two seconds. Long enough for him to notice Abel's stance and eyes. It shifted to cautious at that. What would fall under notable to Abel was likely that Atem was wearing the Ring, which also happened to be on a newer rope then the last time he had seen it. The Torque was in Yuugi's pocket, not even visible for the energy. Atem had carefully put the Scale in his leather jacket, and as a result was wearing it like a normal person for once. That alone was worth note.
"Good afternoon, K1-kun," Yuugi said with a smile. It didn't seem forced, "Can we talk...?"
"We have a favor to ask," Atem said, coming to the point more bluntly then Yuugi.

Abel frowned at Yuugi and Atem. So it had been the two of them after all. He hadn't missed Atem's expression shift, nor did he miss that Atem was actually wearing the Ring. There was a bit of pain at that, but none of that crossed Abel's face. Even with it being Yuugi and Atem... he didn't want to drop his guard. For all this island had done for bringing his human side out after the hell of the Demon Realm, the day's events were making him actually exercise that demonic side again.
Abel nodded and motioned for Yuugi and Atem to come in. If it weren't for the demonic presences he could sense and the way Atem was wearing his jacket, the favor they were asking him for would confuse him. However, those demonic presences meant that whatever it was was related to those items of theirs.

Yuugi glanced at the rooms to the side at Abel's frown. He hoped K2 and Atsuro alright, given the events earlier. Diarahan and related often didn't take the full sting of the pain off, after all. If Dark Malik had attacked them, even Yuugi couldn't deny they were lucky to be alive. He looked back at the precise moment Abel nodded, and his fading smile returned. He went in and Atem stepped in after, keeping at least an idea of where Abel's presence was. Neither sat down upon entering the room due to the lack of invitation.
"K1-kun, are Atsuro-kun-tachi okay...?" Yuugi asked.
Atem gave a very weak smile at the question. Even with the potential danger, especially with Abel's shift in behavior, his Partner was the type to get the truly important asked first. He turned towards the King of Bel to await a response with Yuugi.

Abel nodded, finally speaking. "They're resting. Atsuro wasn't hurt as badly as Keiji was, so if you want to talk to him while you're here, you should be able to."
His expression softened a bit at those words, but it wasn't much. He'd ended up using Keiji's birth name. Abel had never felt comfortable calling him "Seth". He only used the name because that was how Keiji thought of himself now.

Yuugi was a bit relieved at the words, although he hadn't missed that K2 was hurt still. If he could manage it he'd talk to both of them before leaving. There was a few moments of silence before Yuugi realized they needed to move onto the favor Atem had mentioned. He reached into his pocket and put his fingers around the Torque... ----------
Someone was dead....again? Second person? He didn't know who, but it was a horrible feeling. Someone was dead, and a friend was blaming himself. He had an idea what was going on, but the focus was so unclear! As if someone or something was forcing it to be concealed. A detail, it had been quick. Blue hair? Focus wasn't possible, but someone with blue hair was covered in blood. There hadn't been a cape, so Minato? He didn't know, but he felt almost as if there were a light burning into the back of his eyes. He couldn't focus more.
Only a few things seemed to stick. Someone was dead. Someone with short blue hair was involved. Someone with blue hair was covered in blood... ----------
The Torque had just come into visible as Yuugi was pulling it out before a bright golden flash had shot out. Abel would feel the small pulse in demonic energy as the Item activated itself and Yuugi's eyes spaced out. The speed at which Atem was by his side was rather impressive in its own right. Yuugi hadn't even really had a chance to start falling to the side before the Egyptian teenager had caught his shoulders and was supporting him.
"Partner, hey! Steady yourself!"
The knees gave out a little and it was as Yuugi's head hit Atem's upper chest the energy drew back in and Yuugi's eyes began to clear. Atem pulled him off to look at the shorter teenager. He had a strong grip on him, enough that one could see just from the grip on the clothes there'd be slight marks on Yuugi's upper arms. He blinked a few times.
"A-Atem...?"
"Partner, was that a vision!?"

Abel had only gotten a glimpse of the golden object before it gave off a bright flash of light. Abel could more than sense the pulse of demonic energy, and his eyes widened as Yuugi's eyes went out of focus and he collapsed to the side. Abel took a few concerned steps toward Yuugi when the demonic energy receded back into the object and Yuugi's eyes returned into focus.
"A vision?" Abel asked at Atem's words. He looked toward the object and his eyes widened. "Wait, is that the Torque?!"
He remembered Atsuro going over the various items in as much detail as he could during that explanation he'd given. The Torque could give visions of the future...

Atem ignored Abel's words. He wanted to make sure Yuugi was okay before he did anything else. The short teenager shook his head and lifted the hand holding the necklace to his temple when his eyes widened. It had only been patches, and he hadn't been able to get a solid fix on things, but... Atem was still holding him as he jerked his head towards Abel.
"K1-kun! I... either you, K2-kun, or Minato-kun are in danger!"
"Partner...?"
"I couldn't get a good fix. But there was something about someone with blue hair and they were covered in blood! And... someone was dead...."

Abel's eyes widened as Yuugi spoke. Someone with blue hair covered in blood.... likely himself, then. He'd been covered in blood so much these past few months. But there was someone dead... that was entirely probable to be his fault too. So much was his fault these days. He shook his head.
"If it is me, I wouldn't worry. I can handle myself," Abel said with a bit of a smile. It dropped at his next statement. "If it's Minato, though, you all should be careful. Whoever's dead might be one of you."
He didn't say anything about the possibility of it being about Keiji. He... didn't want to think about that possibility.

Yuugi opened his mouth to object to what Abel had put forth. There were four people in their group with blue hair. Although he was pretty sure it hadn't been Naoto... he closed it. Not only had the person not been wearing a cape, but K1 probably knew that it could be Keiji. He wasn't stupid. He looked down at the Torque and gave a smile.
"Th-thanks... Anyhow, K1-kun, we were hoping..." Yuugi bit his lip. Probably shouldn't come right out of the gates with that.
"I've been informed Zorc could return if the Items are kept together. We need you to watch some of them," Atem said, his grip finally loosening on Yuugi's shoulders.
He'd failed to mention why it would be safe for Abel to watch them. Given Atsuro's interest in his fandoms, he probably knew about some of the less... friendly behaviors of the Items despite most of them being manga specific.

Abel didn't object to their request. He did raise an eyebrow, though. The Items tended to react violently to people they didn't like, Atsuro had said.
"Don't those items react badly to people they don't like?" Abel asked. "I have no problem with hanging onto them, but I don't want them to try to kill me."

"Haytham-san said that they shouldn't because of your throne," Yuugi said.
Of course, Abel had no idea who Haytham was. Yuugi had responded quickly and managed to avoid calling Abel a demon, as well. But the implication was there, given the Items. He was grateful Atem hadn't asked about Zorc, if a little concerned at the lack of reaction. It didn't really show, he just seemed happy Abel was willing to help.
Atem let out a sigh. Given the potential danger of what they were doing, Abel deserved a better explanation, "Haytham is Ra's avatar. As in both the god and card. I've met Obelisk's as well. Neither of them know any Japanese, and Haytham's English is lacking."
He hadn't mentioned Osiris, however. There was also the issue that "Obelisk" wasn't really a god, something Abel would possibly be aware of in his dealings with demons.

Abel raised an eyebrow at the name "Haytham." Haytham wasn't a name he'd heard come up at all before. He didn't look any less confused as Atem explained, though the explanation made a degree of sense, considering their group. Of course, at the comment about "Obelisk", he found himself having to speak up.
"You're aware an obelisk isn't actually a god, correct?" Abel asked. He sighed. "If the items won't hurt me, then I have no problem with holding onto those two for a while."
He trailed off toward the end there and gave a slight wince of pain. He shook his head and continued on. "Just try to be careful with the ones you've got, okay?"

(OOC: And now for our Mythology (and additional Wikipedia) lesson of the day!)
"He claims to be the spirit of the Nile," Atem stated. Yuugi scratched the back of his head at the short explanation. That... wouldn't make much sense unless Abel had some knowledge of Ancient Egypt.
"In Ancient Egypt, the Nile was kind of seen as a god cause of its importance and impact on the crops. I think its similar to how we assign protective spirits to things like rivers and mountains," Yuugi stated, "Ancient Egyptian obelisks were kind of protecting signs of the gods' power, and Atem told me Asim-san claims to be the guardian of the gods."
"He seems to be using the modern word as well," Atem stated, "It wasn't the word used to describe them in Ancient Egypt. Likely a result of Pegasus' own mistakes with the god cards."
Yuugi nodded at Atem's addition to his words. He seemed relieved as Abel said he'd watch the Items. If they couldn't count on Kaiba... at least they had an option. He held out the Torque and Atem pulled the Scale out of his pocket. The two ends were carefully positioned around the center, but he unwound them before he held it out.
"You need to be informed why we couldn't go to Kaiba with this," Atem said, his expression dark, "The damn idiot purposely chose not to watch them when Partner informed him about the situation with Zorc. Zorc destroyed his Blue Eyes, Ultimate Dragon in the Dark Game of my memories, and now he claims to have a score to settle. I don't know how far he'll attempt to go to make that happen, but you're probably aware of what he did to Partner the last time he had a grudge."
Yuugi ignored the reference to Death-T when Abel winced, "K1-kun, are you okay...? You're not hurt anywhere, right?"
