Her eyes slowly, yet fuzzily drifted open, extreme frigidness surrounding her body. small blond pieces blurred her view, but not nearly as much as the snow storm she was trapped in. How, or even why was she in a snowstorm in the first place?
With as much ability as she had, she tried getting up, looking around. "F.... Funghi...?" Her long time partner seemed nowhere in sight, and she was losing hope as time progressed. in a desperate move, she closed her eyes and screamed, loud as she could.

There was a 'thunk' noise as something relatively big dropped down, just spit out of a portal from his or her home world. These were a common occurrence in the soon-to-be-new-arrival's world, evident by the increasing number of missing people's reports.
Or in this new arrival's case, missing Pokemon.
A human-shaped Pokemon was then spit out. A Machoke, as it was known in its world. It seemed to be taller than usual, though it was more likely due to the large palm tree with coconuts growing on its head. Its purple-gray skin had turned to green, and from its now-dark green stripes were leaves. While it still wore its species' usual power-restraining belt, it also wore what appeared to be a grass skirt.
Not very suited to cold climates like this one, in other words.
Just as the portal sealed, Stauit found himself shivering, more accustomed to the warm, tropical climate of his home. He managed to stand up, trying to warm himself up by shivering.
"B-brr... where... where am I...?" The muscular Pokemon found itself saying out loud, causing air to condense near its mouth. He was wondering just what the hell was going on...
However, that wasn't the time to think about that. He suddenly heard a very loud scream, a young female by the pitch and tone.
And last he checked, screams equated to trouble.
Stauit started to look around for the source of the scream, wondering just what the hell was going on again.

Mackenzie's eyes started to phaze in and out of reality. She wasn't sure if her scream worked, but the ferocity of the storm seemed to lessen up. Whatever strength she could muster was being put into her rising up, still a bit weak from the frosty location.
almost reminded her of the skating rink.
When at last she stood up, Mackenzie almost fell smack into the snow again. She couldn't tel someone was closel, but had to try calling for help again. "H, Hello?! Is anyone th-there?! I... I need help, even if... if you..." her voice started to fade, her eyes coming to a close. She couldn't stand being out here for much longer.

Stauit's walking pace seemed to speed up a bit at hearing the voice. It confirmed his suspicions- it was a human. That would explain why it seemed to be in agony; they were overall weaker than Pokemon, and more exposed to the elements of nature.
... Shrugging off his bad feelings, the Machoke started to look down, into the snow. From the faint thuds he had heard, she had definitely fallen at least once or twice.
But... I heard that they were horrible creatures... so why I help a human...?
Stauit thought to himself, and bit his lip. It didn't matter who it was now- an innocent life needed help, and human or not, he wasn't going to let her slip away.
"... Your scent is faint... where in the snow are you?"

Mackenzie looked up. Scent? she thought. Sight wasn't an option, so she searched under the snow for a second. fortunately, she found a stone in the immediate location, picking it up and finding another nearby. Her blue neckerchef floating in the wind, she tried propping herself up, and banged the rocks together frantically.
Her black eyes, round on her chibi-ish body, were beginning to close, the bangs becoming less frequent.

Looking straight ahead, Stauit took sudden note of the blue handkerchief, standing out against the rest of the area. It was an indicator of the human's position, an innocent life in need.
Preparing his mind, Stauit made an announcement as she started to rush to the telltale sign of the human.
"Help is on the way!"

Stauit's large form made it's way toward her, leaving her aware of a rescuer. Mackenzie lifted her arm towards hm, but the frigid cold was doing its work on her body, and she was starting to lose consciousness. By the time he would get to her, she will have.

Stauit made a grimace at the falling arm, this little human wasn't going to last long in the cold. The young, like this one was, were especially exposed to the elements. He ignored the frost forming on his leaves as she finished his dash to the girl.
The Machoke scooped her up, frowning subconsciously as he felt her consciousness slip. He had a bad feeling in his gut, this human would suffer hypothermia if he didn't do anything.
"Damn it... she's cold..."
Spotting a small building, Stauit rushed to it, making sure to keep the small girl secure in his arms.

Her white dress was seemingly untouched by the snowflakes, her hat somewhat trying to fall off. The green shadow she was now looking at seemed a bit warm, causing her to do a short lived embrace, a gesture unlike her. her blue scarf (or neckerchief, it's kinda like the scarves from PMD fame) was slowly gaining frost, her cheeks turning red for unknown reasons.
She drifted off, falling asleep before shelter was reached...
----------
Mackenzie's eyes creaked open, her completely black eyes looking around. "wh... Where am i?" she squeaked, trying to get up. Her hat wasn't on, the full extent of her blond hair visable. As a quick check, she searched her pockets, finding her blue and brown notebooks still in one piece.
she sighed, trying to get out of bed. A glance around showed she was in a cabin, fireplace going. How did i get here in the first place? she thought.

"So, you're finally up..." came a deep voice from outside, accompanied by the door swinging open. Into view came Stauit, who's leaves were covered in a fine layer of frost.
That fire looks warm, but I'm not getting burned again, he thought, glancing at the flames that he had more than likely burnt himself on more than once trying to light the accursed thing.
Closing the door behind him, he then turned his eyes onto the girl.
"... How did you wind up way out here?"

Mackenzie crossed a finger over her lip, thinking about it. That IS a good question... she thought, looking over at him. "Well..." she said, a bit unsure of her words. How am i supposed to answer that?
Finally, she figured it out. "Well... first of all, I'm a dete- no, an inspector. My name's Mackenzie. Second, the last thing i remember before coming here was Penelope barging in, saying she saw something weird in the forest. I went to check it out, but just as i got close I just... well, wound up in that blizzard out there. It's a pretty weird thing..." I'm not even sure he believes me.

Stauit put a hand under his chin, as if contemplating her story. So, she went into a forest and suddenly found herself in this frozen tundra? That was hard to believe.
... Than again, he had been going for a leisurely walk through the jungle when he suddenly felt the ground below him cave in and suck him into some kind of portal, so maybe her story held some truth behind it.
"But... you're such a young human... why did you leave without some kind of companion?"

Mackenzie repeated his "companion" statement in her mind, then thought about it. "Well, I normally do, but I don't know what happened to him... Maybe he fell in, too?" Then it occoured to her. if she wasn't the only one to fall in, where did her friends wind up?

"... Your companion... hmm..." Stauit said quietly to himself, wondering just what the hell happened that had separated this girl from her companions.
He had been alone when he had been sucked into that portal, so it was only natural that he was alone... but wait, he had been in a tropical rainforest and ended up in a frozen wasteland, so maybe it spit people out in climates opposite of what they were in?
It was more than likely flawed, but still, it was the best they had.
"... What kind of environment were you and your companion in when you were separated?"

Mackenzie put her finger around her mouth again, thinking. "Well, we're in spring right now, nothing special..."
