(OOC: Highly unlikely you'll get in. Knowledge of Supernatural and/or Danny Phantom required.)
William had stood there for a few moments as Claire got into the ambulance and drove off. He took his standard ghost form and rose into the air before he lost track of it. He didn't know where the hospital was, so he had to follow the vehicle. The ambulance reached the hospital within minutes. Due to the method of arrival, the small teleporter used for standard arrivals was avoided. The ambulance was instead driven into a tunnel that lead underground. William landed as Claire took Egon's body out of the ambulance, being met by several people who rushed him inside.
"Daniel..." William said to himself.
His current form meant no one would hear him. He watched where they were taking Egon's body. Claire had told him to trust that they could save Egon. William wasn't sure that would be possible, but that wasn't the focus of his concerns. Daniel still hadn't come out of Egon's body. Daniel was at least partially alive, and William couldn't help but think that if his host died, he would go as well. Would he become a ghost? Either way was horrid to think about. His curse was not one William would wish on anyone... but if he died it would be his fault as well. William clenched his fists and teeth. He was helpless here... all he could do was wait.
William took a solid form and walked towards where the visual aid signs were indicating visitors were supposed to go. Before long he reached what appeared to be a waiting area. A few people turned to look at him, but no one focused too much. William looked down at his hand for a moment and back up at the people in the room. While there were traces of transparency to him in this form, it seemed he was opaque enough for people to pass it off. He sat down in one of the chairs and put his head in both of his hands. He'd been the one who told Daniel to hang on... could he really hope for things to be alright?
He remained in his thoughts for a few minutes when he heard some shouting. He jerked his head up as he heard some of the words. They matched Egon's description, and they seemed panicked. He jumped to his feet and was taking a step towards where he saw the people running when he heard a voice behind him that seemed to be addressing him.
"It's likely your fault if you're that panicked," even the voice seemed to be carrying a smirk, "Your actions are that of a guilty conscience."
William's eyes widened and he jerked his head towards the voice. The man was sitting in the seat behind where William had been sitting, so his back was to him. The fingers of his left hand were tapping on the handrest. It was dark, but William wouldn't call him black. Perhaps a dark skinned middle-easterner. He had short and stringly black hair, comparable to a raven's feathers in color. William frowned at the man.
"You have no understanding of what you speak," William stated.
"Is that so...?" the man said, his shoulders shaking to indicate a slight laugh.

It was a relatively long, bumpy ride. At least, Daniel thought so. Then again, with how exhausted he was growing, he'd lost his sense of time. He no longer had any idea if he was coming or going, and he was honestly too dazed to care. This had been a bad idea with no forethought, entering Egon. But that's what he'd always done. Jumped into situations head-first, without giving it any thought. That's why Vlad was back, because he hadn't thought to do anything about him. He was a failure.
Then there was a light, a very, very bright light. It stung eyes that weren't his as he jammed shut eyelids belonging to another man. Following this there were voices, all around him, and he was being wheeled along on something. Was he on a stretcher of some sort? He hadn't even noticed. Egon's ears picked up foreign sounds, mixed into the screaming voices. Before long, the wheeling had stopped, perhaps they'd reached a room. The voices didn't stop, though, only growing more and more panicked.
One of the voices, which he assumed belonged to doctors and nurses, said something that worried him, then. It sounded an awful lot like...
"CLEAR!" exclaimed one of the fellows. Daniel felt something jam into Egon's chest, and then, for a brief moment, his heart stopped. In coming nights, when sleep wouldn't come and old scars burned, Daniel would remember this moment. He would remember this moment where Egon's eyes whipped open and he jerked up, screaming, only to fall back, gripping his chest. He would remember how he'd heard frantic screams concerning his anaesthetic failing and would realizing that numbing Egon's sensations didn't numb Daniel's own, and he would not forget how the realization had made his breath stop, made his blood run cold.
He could never forget.

William gave an angry frown at the man's rhetoric. He may have argued it further, but there was another sound of a scream. The anger melted from his face and was replaced by extreme worry. If Egon died, would Daniel? Was there a way he could maybe pull Daniel free from the man? It seemed a ridiculous idea, but the ghostly prince was searching for any out. He was about half a second from vanishing so he could make his way to where he was sure Egon was being treated when he heard footsteps come up behind him. He whirled around in surprise and almost fell over when he realized the man who had been in the chair was now right behind him. How had he moved so fast and so silently!?
"I'm only calling this situation as I see it," the man was leaning close enought to William that he could feel his breath on his skin. The prince narrowed his eyes and took a step back to maintain some semblance of personal space, "And as I see it you feel guilt at whatever is going on in that other room. What did you do to cause that man's condition, then?" William didn't even notice the slip of facts. Egon hadn't been wheeled through here, this man shouldn't know as much as he was speaking of. The thoughts in his mind prevented him from questioning the man's sadistic grin, as well, "Or what was it that you didn't do?"
"You will cease to speak!" William shouted at the man. Why was he yelling at this man? Of course he was a jerk, but wasn't he right? Wasn't this all his own fault? William took another step back, "I have had quite enough of your taunts! What is happening to Daniel is... it is not..."
"Not what? Not your fault? Aren't you protesting a bit much?"
"Leave me be!" William shouted back. Why was he getting so angry? Redirecting...?

It was taking everything Daniel had to remain in Egon. It would take everything Daniel had to leave Egon. He was, for all intents and purposes, trapped. But if he gave in for one second, just one minor second, he could be lost forever, becoming nothing more than a wandering spirit trapped in a presumably comatose patient. Even worse, Dr. Spengler would be more or less dead. Worse than that, he would be dead but unable to die. Daniel was practically feeding the man his own life energy, and Egon would be stuck there, never dying. Never resting. He wouldn't become a ghost, he wouldn't even pass on, he would just suffer until Daniel ran out of energy to give.
Daniel felt another needle stab into Egon's arm, another attempt at sedating him. It wouldn't work, none of it. Egon might not be able to feel, but Daniel could, as long as he stayed in the man. Then a device that Daniel had never seen before was brought over towards him. It looked like a... scanner, of some type. It's true intents, however, were much more malicious. Daniel would only realize this after it had been turned on and run over Egon's body.
He didn't know why this place had such an item, but he would later surmise that it was only one of the oddities of the island. Later realization would strike Daniel that such events were commonplace, and his surprise was entirely unwarranted. In any case, as the device was run over Daniel, he felt pain. Pain unlike any pain he'd ever felt before. The device began to beep, rapidly, and he felt as if every cell in his body was dying, as if every atom were being split. He did the only thing he could do. He screamed, as it grew worse, until finally...
Egon's eyes were brown.

The griin showed accented canines. William was as oblivious to it as before. The man stepped to the left, another step put him between William and where the shouting was coming from. He turned towards William even though the teenager hadn't turned to face him yet.
"Leave you be? I'm not detaining you in the slightest. But what could you do if you were to leave? Cause more damage, perhaps? Tell me, do you make a habit of making others suffer for your frustrations?"
William's eyes widened at that accusation. It was now that he whirled around to face the man. His expression was bordering pissed at this point. The man was accusing him of letting this happen to Daniel on purpose!? The man looked almost surprised as William tensed up, but both his surprise and William's aggression dropped back down. Couldn't that be it? Was there some part of him that blamed Daniel for what had happened back at the palace?
"No," William said. The man he had been speaking to raised an eyebrow, looking annoyed. A smirk returned at the tone of William's voice, "I refuse to stand here and give audience to your words a moment longer. I refuse to let yet another die by my negligence!"
The objections William ran from would have never come. The middle-eastern man stood there as William turned the corner. He was chuckling to himself. Oh this was quite interesting. He was still fairly pissed he hadn't found the person Barachiel was hiding from him, but this was a nice diversion. That ghost was sinking further into his self-hatred, his self-Wrath. A corner of his lip remained upturned even as the laughter ended.
William, on the other hand, had gone intangible as soon as he had turned the corner and was out of the man's range of site. A quick listen and a few walls passed through later, he came into the room where they were trying to treat Egon. It was just as the scream was fading, just as the glowing green eyes that were a sign of Egon's Overshadowing faded back to brown. William's eyes widened and he looked around the room for any sign of the other teenager.
"Daniel!!"

There had been a conversation Daniel had missed, earlier. He had been, for the most part, blissfully unaware of the ongoing talk of the doctors around Egon. So when he was... whatever had just happened to him, it wasn't with the knowledge of why. Truly, if he hadn't been in so much pain, he actually may have had a chance of escape. But it was too late now. Much, much too late.
"Are you sure this is right?" One nurse had asked, glancing in the direction of the hideous object. She didn't want to use this machine. She really, really didn't.
"You heard him. If we don't do this, he'll kill all of us. All of our families. Do you want to lose your daughter over something like this? Isn't her life more important to you than that?" The doctor operating on Egon had responded.
"No, but... but this isn't right! What if he was lying before? What if it WILL kill him?" She'd asked in return, growing more frantic.
"He isn't alive. That's what the man from before said, the one with the horrible, violet eyes. He promised us that he isn't alive. And as for the man he's inside... he may very well die if our operation is a failure. Now. No more objections. It must be done, as horrible as it is."
At the doctor's urging, she pulled out the scanner-like machine. The man told them he'd cobbled it together using technology he came across on the island. That made it worse. Island technology was going to be used to... she couldn't bear to think about it. She just ran the device over the man, ignoring the screams it brought. Finally, as they began to recede, by the time William made it into the room, she began to sob. Long, loud sobs. At the very least, Egon's pulse was normalizing, the doctor having patched up his most crucial injuries quite nicely. That had been their one speculation, that the device would not be used until they were certain the man would survive.
Being that the two individuals in the room didn't have ghost sense, nor did any of their technology, having operated under the assumption that Egon was possessed only at the urging of the man from earlier, they didn't hear William's scream. The nurse, once she calmed down, returned to her duty. They continued to work on Egon.

There was no response, none whatsoever. The woman had silent tears rolling down her face. An expression that indicated that something horrible she could do nothing to stop was going on. The doctor seemed too serious, almost as if he was focusing on his work to the exclusion of everything else, including his own thoughts. There was no response from them, they couldn't sense William. There was no response from Daniel, he wasn't there.
William stood there and watched as the doctor and nurse worked. No, he was just standing there. His eyes were distant. Daniel wasn't there. He had been convinced that if something were to have gone wrong, Daniel would have died and become a true ghost. But Daniel wasn't there, and there was no traces of him whatsoever. Daniel had a human form, Daniel was for all extensive purposes at least half alive. So where was he? Even if he'd died, where was he?
There was no way for William to know that the machine in the room was suspect. While William had knowledge of many modern tecnology, it was limited only to what people spoke of when they visited the castle. Cell phones, automobilies, even things such as internet and computers. William knew of hospitals, but little of what was carried within. So the machine didn't even cross William's mind. Daniel's absence did.
William's legs finally decided they weren't going to support a barely conscious person anymore, and they gave out. He ended up crumpling into a sitting position. If Daniel was not here, then Daniel was likely dead. William couldn't figure out why. Egon seemed to be pulling a recovery. Had Daniel done something that allowed Egon to live while he died. The young man was not crying, but one hand was covering his face and he was shaking his head. Yet again. Another death. His fault.
(OOC: Feel free to do a time skip on Egon's part.)

--TIME SKIP FOR GREAT JUSTICE LIKE A BOSS-- Quite a bit of time had passed by the time Egon had awoken. During that day he received no visitors that the hospital staff knew of. The boy that had come in with him had all but vanished. But that was beside the point. The point was, it was around 9 PM when the man finally opened his eyes. The various hospital staff had, by this point, left. Egon's effects were lying on the table next to him, and, in fact, it was one of them that had awoken him.
His EMF meter was going crazy. A ghost was in the room. It was a relatively small room, which indicated that it would have to be somewhere close to the man. He sat bolt upright before his pounding head reminded him that he was still injured, and he dropped back to his pillow, drenched in a cold sweat. That was the next thing he noticed, how hot his room was. Could this place not afford an air conditioner?
He reached for his EMF meter, picking it up. This brought him to the realization that his glasses had been removed... no, not remove. Broken. His glasses had been broken. By a ghost. A pretty damn powerful one, too. Even worse, the neutrona wand was nowhere in sight, so if it was a malevolent spirit, he was in danger. But then, something kept him calm. He'd come here with someone, and they weren't... human... what were their names again... William and Daniel. That was it, he was certain of it.
Egon slid up on his pillow a bit, looking around, seeing as well as he could see. His light was off and his glasses were gone, so even if William was allowing himself to be visible, Egon couldn't see him. Though, that still left Daniel unaccounted for. As far as Egon knew, they'd talked about some problems with his 'powers' or something, so he didn't seem to be able to disappear very easily... which was another oddity Egon noted. What sort of ghost had problems flying, or even disappearing? And those ecto-blasts, those were... new. They seemed to be pure, ectoplasmic energy. The ghost that had injured him had fired them as well. Obviously, Egon had a bit of catching up to do.
"William? Daniel? Where are you? I can't see..." Egon questioned, continuing to squint.

William had remained in the room where Egon had been, his thoughts swirling and his eyes distant. It had been a full hour before he'd managed to get himself to his feet. He was, no irony intended, like a dead man walking. He had no idea how long he'd wandered before he'd managed to find Egon's room. Once there, he had sat on a chair and ran his hands through his hair.
Daniel was dead. That was the only possible explanation. Daniel had died protecting Egon, a man they had never met, a man who should have run at the first chance he had. He'd tried, hadn't he? He hadn't acted quickly enough. It was his fault, yet again. It was his fault Marcus had killed his family in front of him. His duty was to protect his kingdom, his people, and he had failed. He'd failed the last two survivors, he'd failed Daniel, he'd failed everyone. There was no one to blame but himself. He was so within his own thoughts, so broken, that he didn't even hear the EMF.
He gave a dull look upwards as Egon woke up. He was still transparent. His hand lifted to the pendant his mother had given him, clutching it tight and he focused to become transparent again. Egon was still squinting and not seeming to see him. And then he asked his question. William's head hung and his heart sunk even further. His words were muted and muttered. Egon would likely hear him, but he would have trouble making out the words.
"Daniel is dead..."

Egon could barely make it out, but a silhouette seemed to appear from nowhere. As much as he could make it out, it was William. But he wasn't certain until he received a response. Ah, yes, so it was William. But that still left one unaccounted for. Where was Daniel? Had he decided to wait in the waiting room, or-oh. William's words finally hit Egon. That was... that should've been horrible. It should have been some of the worst news Egon had ever received, but to be all that honest...
...it wasn't. While William seemed heartbroken over it, and that was terrible, Egon had been under the impression that Daniel was always dead. Wasn't that... the very definition of a ghost? One who's spirit remained after they'd passed on? Surely William would have been better off angsting over Abraham Lincoln's death, or Spock's. Perhaps William had simply... forgotten his own death, and never knew what it meant to be a ghost, and... was sad because he now knew?
But no, Egon knew how illogical that was. From William's tone, this was... this was something more. Something far, far worse. Even so, last he'd seen him Daniel had been zipping around and being his happy-go-lucky self. Surely the ghost from before couldn't have harmed him that bad? Then again, it WAS Gozer-level. As such, Egon gauged his response, speaking as carefully as possible.
"I don't... believe I understand..."

"I said Daniel is dead," William shook his head and lifted it. He was now speaking more clearly. His voice was monotone. It wasn't the calm emotion he'd held before. It was just dead flat, and quite eerie. Truth was, William sounded broken, "He possessed you to keep you alive. I am of the belief he died in his attempts."

Egon began to, he thought, understand. He assumed William had chosen 'dead' for lack of a better word. From the sounds of it, Daniel, had he been alive, had expended all of his life force to save Egon. Being that, as a ghost, Daniel was dead however, it was more likely, Egon felt, that he expended all of his ectoplasmic energy keeping the man alive. A brave feat regardless, mind you. Not to mention quite the heroic sacrifice. Even though he was beginning to understand, mind you, he wasn't sure how to respond. Truth be told, there probably wasn't an appropriate way to respond.
He'd only just met these two boys only hours prior, a day at best, and one had given his life... or, well, afterlife, for Egon. An... interesting feat indeed, if not a bit lacking in judgement. Egon would likely have done the same, but that was because he felt he'd lived a full life, accomplished everything he'd set out to accomplish and more. Daniel, were he alive... would still be in the beginning stages of his life. There was so much more to see than could ever be seen, more to do than-wait, hang on... no, that's The Lion King, sorry. But the point still stands.
"I... I'm sorry..." Egon responded after a brief moment of silence. Poor Daniel... poor WILLIAM...

"Do not worry yourself over it. The fault lays far more with me for my ineptitude. I could not protect my family, my people, my country. I am thinking it was pure foolishness that made me of the mind to believe I could protect even a single life."
William stood up, "I knew Daniel only a night. Not much longer than you yourself knew him. However, he was not a charge. You had not taken it upon yourself to protect him. With Daniel gone, there is quite literally nothing for me in this world or any other. Perhaps I should return to the palace I betrayed. It is only fitting for one who can not even defend but a single life... Eternity in solitude."

Egon was, yet again, unsure how to respond. That is, until a thought occurred to him. He was still alive. A quick look at his palms assured him of such, due to them still being one hundred percent opaque. But... that wasn't possible. If Daniel had indeed been destroyed, by all accounts, Egon should have been dead. He had a vague blueprint in his head of the type of machinery needed to destroy a ghost, and the collateral damage would have been massive. Essentially it would've been as bad as if the streams had been crossed.
"Wait a moment, William. If Daniel died protecting me, then, by all accounts, I myself should be dead. If there was a third party involved, the type of energy needed to be put out would have destroyed my body, if it was strong enough to destroy Daniel's spirit. Or even worse, taken my soul with it. It's hard to focus certain types of devices, I've found. And had it been something Daniel himself had done saving me, there would still be more lingering ectoplasmic remains. But there aren't. Somewhere out there, Daniel is still alive!"
--
-FLASHBACK- It had all happened so quickly. As did most things concerning the angel Castiel. When he'd exorcised Marcus he hadn't exchanged words, even changed his expression. Truth was, even when Castiel had done field work in the past, he was used to operating with little to no back-up. So when it came to dealing with people, well... he wasn't very good at it, is what I'm saying.
Dean's suggesting of 'hoofing it' had, for the most part, fallen on deaf ears. Samuel hadn't even been given time to open his mouth to respond, as Castiel had proceeded to put two fingers on Sam's forehead and two on Dean's. With that, they were gone, reappearing inside...
...a hospital? Well that was odd, that wasn't where Castiel had meant to go. Then again, his powers were fading... as obvious by the way he shot into a wall, as opposed to his general soft landings. Sam had been lucky enough to be tossed into a chair, panting and grabbing his abdomen, feeling sick.
"Cas, man, what the hell?!" Sam called in indignation, doing his best to avoid vomiting on the spot. Castiel quickly collected himself, pulling himself to his feet, shakily.
"Angelic teleportation. Quickest way to travel..." Castiel paused for a moment to grunt as he struggled to stand, before stabilizing and continuing, "I seem to have been a bit... off, in my destination, though."
With that Sam lost control, and also his lunch.
"You should have bent your knees." Castiel commented without turning in Sam's direction. They seemed to be in a hospital of some sort, but that didn't clue Castiel in as to how close they were to the alley. He turned around and noticed... people staring. He chose to ignore them.
"Dean?" Castiel questioned, before he stopped cold, whipping his head around without waiting for a response from Dean.
"Something... unholy is here. Get behind me." Castiel said aloud, whipping out a dagger of some sort from his trenchcoat. It wasn't similar in design to one Sam had ever seen...
Due to Castiel's failing powers, he wasn't able to exactly tune in on the disturbance. The dark aura he felt seemed to be coming form everywhere and nowhere at once, all he truly knew was that it was here, and it was evil.
"I'm here! Whatever you are, I'm here! I am the angel, Castiel. Come and get me, you little bitch." Castiel whirled around now. It was here, he knew it.

William looked up with a somber expression as Egon informed him to wait. He didn't seem impressed with Egon's speech as it started. The thought of interference hadn't occurred to him, he'd assumed something had happened to Daniel that had cost him his life to save Egon. He didn't know what Egon meant with the talk about devices, but he remembered something he had almost forgotten in his self loathing. Daniel and he had been threatened before, and while he'd managed to injure what seemed to be the source... it had fled.
"If that is truly the case, Daniel is in very grave danger! I spoke to you of that darkness, and I am of the opinion due to his actions that it is the caped man from before. I fear he intends to do worse to Daniel than he attempted to do to you!" -----
The man calling himself Faruq scowled to himself as he felt the wrath he was feeding off of fade. He clenched his fists and let out a very low... growl. A nurse walking past him froze up and managed to drop the metal clipboard she was carrying. Faruq turned his head and literally snarled at the noise, causing the woman to scoop up her possessions and scurry off at a rather high pace. Needless to say, the man was not pleased with his entertainment being taken away.
Of course, then the wave came. It was so very weak, Faruq almost passed it off. He gave an annoyed but rather dull glare towards the waiting room, only seeing part of it do the corner he was standing just past. Well, he didn't see what had made the wave, but it had seemed angelic. He wondered if he should bother checking it out when he was addressed. He raised an eyebrow. Castiel... Castiel... He couldn't really recall knowing that name, and given the power levels it really wasn't worth his time. Or it wouldn't have been if he wasn't pissed about the whole situation with the ghost and felt like he needed amusement. -----
Dean... Dean didn't do nearly as well as Sam. The fact was, Dean was very sick. Far sicker than he was letting Sam know, sicker than Sam probably thought. The general disarray of their arrival had been nice enough to deposit Dean in a seat as well. Dean was not conscious, mind you. Probably would have thrown up too if he'd been so, but he wasn't so it really didn't matter. He'd been about to start coughing again when up had become left and down had become yesterday, so by the time everyone stabilized into the same plane of existance, he'd been out.
So Castiel didn't really get a response, and he was focused on the "little bitch" before he'd have a chance to notice that was really a problem. His command was met with a response a few moments later, when Faruq turned the corner. He had a pinkie in his ear and was wiggling it as if it itched. He blinked and looked up at Castiel and then at the way people were... slowly leaving.
"What the hell's your problem? Don't you know a hospital when you see one?"
