Enjin looked a bit shocked as the beam of light sliced clean through the possessed salamander. He had managed to get to his feet by this point, and he had his coat wrapped around his injured hand. He glared at Kaiba, and actually glared.
"This isn't over, Kaiba Seto," Enjin growled. "You have information I need, and I will get it one of these days."
He backed up, and ran out of the apartment, leaving only Kaiba, Mokuba, and Amaterasu.
As Mokuba addressed Amaterasu, Issun hopped up again so Mokuba could see him.
"Nah, Ammy didn't cause nothin'! She was only tryin' to protect you guys!" Issun said.

Kaiba was more than willing to return Enjin's glare. When Enjin threatened him again, he gave a very dark smirk. He doubted Enjin could do anymore than he'd shown here. As Enjin ran off, Kaiba turned towards Mokuba. The salamander's head remained on the floor, Kaiba would deal with it after he checked on his brother. It was about this time Issun hopped up to answer Mokuba's question.
"Mokuba, stay away from that," Kaiba's voice was sharp. Mokuba looked towards Kaiba as he stepped between him and Amaterasu. Duos had taken a defensive position in front of Mokuba as Kaiba gave Amaterasu an unamused tone, "Alright, what are you and who sent you?"

Amaterasu gave a low growl at Kaiba as he told Mokuba to stay away from her. Issun looked less than amused too, as he turned a red color and started bouncing up and down.
"Geez, couldn't ya be just a bit more grateful?! No one sent us, we were just tryin' to help!" Issun yelled. "Come on, Ammy, let's ditch this guy."
Not yet, Amaterasu said, despite the fact that Kaiba's attitude was annoying her as well.

Kaiba glared back at Amaterasu for her growl, possibly losing him points in the "smart" category. No matter how he was rationalizing the voice, Amaterasu was a wolf. His unamused scowl deepened as Issun changed color and righfully laid into him. He looked back at Mokuba, who seemed annoyed with him as well.
"Niisama, whoever sent it did help us!"
"I would have managed on my own. In either case, you owe me a window," Kaiba pointed at the shattered glass on his living room floor, "How did you get a trained wolf up to this floor? Whether you 'helped' me or not, the circumstances you came here with indicate you have an ulterior motive. You will explain."

Issun missed most of what Kaiba had said for one simple reason: Kaiba had called Amaterasu a "trained wolf." This wasn't exactly the world's smartest move for Kaiba, which was promptly demonstrated as Issun jumped up from Amaterasu's head and landed on Kaiba's nose. The proximity meant that if Kaiba wasn't blinded by the bright red glow, he would be able to see Issun's actual shape.
"Okay, first of all, Ammy ain't no trained wolf! She's the god Amaterasu! You're 'Japanese', right? Couldn't ya at least get that through your thick head?! She's been tryin' to protect ya these past few days! She didn't come here 'cause she wanted somethin' outta you!" He punctuated each word with a pointed finger. "Seriously, were you that blind that you didn't notice her protectin' you these past few days? And that was just 'cause she was tryin' to be a good god and be nice!"
Issun turned to jump down, and then looked back at Kaiba again. "And you can pay for your own window for all I care!"

Kaiba saw the shape and took what was arguably the most logical leap. Not the one that made the most sense mind you, but the most logical. He assumed he was dealing with some rather impressive robotics. He swatted at Issun a few times, but the Poncle's agility managed to allow him to avoid it. Issun jumped down before Kaiba could get too stubborn about it.
"I don't believe in foolish superstitions designed to put a paranoid populace at ease, no," he growled in response, "As for protecting, all I saw was a white wolf trailing me. As I'm sure whoever built you is quite aware, both me and my brother have been targeted several times. I won't stand still to another attempt."
"N-niisama, you did summon that monster, right...?"
Kaiba looked at Mokuba and then up at Duos. He waved his hand and the Ka vanished, causing a half a second of surprise. He shook his head. "This messenger would have us believe they're unrelated. I've seen no evidence to back the claim of godhood."

"B-Built?! Why I aughta..."
Issun continued to hop angrily. Amaterasu for the moment ignored Issun as Kaiba stated he had seen no evidence to back up Issun's claims. She looked toward the window she had broken, and waved her tail in the air. An ink trail appeared for a moment before disappearing.
Every shard of glass on the floor suddenly lifted up and flew back into the window, forming back into a whole window. There wasn't even a single crack left. It was like the window had never been broken in the first place.
Amaterasu gave a loud yawn and sat down, looking up at Kaiba with expectant eyes.

Kaiba let out a disntinctive huff towards Issun's reactions. Whoever was on the other end of the machine reminded him a fair bit of that losing dog. He had to wonder what idiot would assign a person like that to something like this. He seemed to be nearing the end of his tolerance for this conversation when Amaterasu lited her tail up in the air and swiped it. His eyes widened as the glass repaired itself for a moment before he looked down at Amaterasu.
Mokuba was nowhere near as skeptical, his eyes were saucers and his jaw had hit the floor. Unlike Kaiba, he got the faint idea there was light pink paint on the wolf. He rubbed his eyes and mentally told himself he was being stupid. When he opened them up again, the faint coloring still seemed to be there. He looked somewhat like his brain had skipped rails.
"Let's say I believe you," Kaiba said after a long pause, "I fail to see how that effects any of this. I bow to no one. I'll listen merely because you had the decency to repair the damage you caused."
He sounded quite annoyed.

Amaterasu gave a whine.
"Don't let him get to you, Ammy, he's just a jerk anyway," Issun said to her. By now, he'd hopped back onto Ammy's head and had turned back to his typical green color.
"Alright, look, we've known about this thing with Enjin for a while. We found out 'bout him 'cause he's been goin' around asking about ya, and we already know he's gone after that Kisa girl more than once. So when we found out that he was gonna go after you, the boss here--" He patted Amaterasu on the head. "--decided to help you out. Hell if I know why. If I had ta guess, it was 'cause that Yuugi guy considers you his friend."
He gave a shrug. "Or 'cause Ammy wanted to make sure you didn't do something stupid again. That trick ya did with your monster thing was pretty cool, but somethin' tells me you woulda gone a lot further had we not helped intimidate that Enjin guy."

Mokuba had gotten to his feet by this point. He did believe it was possible the wolf was a goddess. I mean, the way that hologram had nearly killed Jounouchi, the way Mai had gone into a coma over Malik when he'd lost it, the whole thing with Atem and Ancient Egypt... he'd always been more willing to accept things than his older brother had. And he hadn't really gotten a good look at Issun yet, but the mechanics of making a robot that small seemed a little bit of a stretch. Even with the technology owned by KaibaCorp.
Kaiba was more concerned with the two details Issun had revealed. Yuugi was a fool if he felt there was even so much as a rivalry remaining between the two of them. To his knowledge, the ingrate had never dueled so much as even once. His frown had deepened as they mentioned Kisa, but he'd seemed darkly amused by the mention of Yuugi.
"I have nothing to do with that girl, and Yuugi is worth less than a dead flea as far as I'm concerned. As for that 'Enjin guy', what I do to someone who invades my property and threatens the life of my little brother is my own concern," Kaiba turned away in a way that prevented Mokuba from seeing his face. He looked very frustrated, "That girl has me mistaken for someone from her past, I have no relation to her."
He was convincing no one. Even Mokuba raised an eyebrow at the heat of his protest. Kaiba's fists were clenched.

Issun wasn't convinced in the least. This Kaiba guy was obviously in denial.
"Man, it's a wonder you can breathe with how far up your bum your head's stuck," Issun stated. "So a chick who can summon a dragon, the same dragon you use for your weird card game thingy, who totally recognizes you and is the whole reason that Enjin guy attacked you is totally not related to you. Totally."
A pause.
"YOU HAVE EYES! YOU HAVE EARS! IT'S OBVIOUS YOU DON'T HAVE A BRAIN, 'CAUSE YOU'RE IGNORIN' YOUR EYES AND EARS!"
Issun grumbled to himself. "Come on, Ammy, let's go already. This guy ain't gonna listen. He can get himself killed on his own time for all I care."

Kaiba whirled around on Issun as he yelled at him, sounding particularly impressive with his volume when you took into account his size. He looked pissed and ran right over the latter half of Issun's suggestion they leave. His eyes were flashing with firelike intensity as he jerked a finger towards the door. Mokuba hopped backwards at the expression on his face, an unbridled frustrated anger.
"If you want to harass someone about blind negligence, I suggest you seek an audience with the Pharaoh who let her die in the first place!"
Mokuba managed to step wrong in surprise at Kaiba's nearly rabid reaction, and tripped over a leg of the salamander's body before launching backwards and hitting his head on the ground. He winced and grabbed it as he shot up, looking at Kaiba with a terrified sort of worried confusion.
"Niisama, what's wrong?!"

Issun gave a smirk at that. Well well, now wasn't that an interesting statement for Mr. "I don't know a damn thing" to say?
"...I think they call that a 'Freudian Slip' in this time's language, Kaiba-san," Issun said, exaggerating the "san" so that it sounded more than a bit mocking.

Kaiba looked confused and paused for a moment. He looked no less angry at what was clearly a retracing of his words in his head. Pharaoh? Let her die? A few images flitted across his mind and he held up his hand to his head, covering one eye and stringing his fingers through his hair. He seemed an odd combination of stressed and pissed, and the pissed was definitely winning out.
"I don't care if you're a damned god, get the hell out of my apartment," Kaiba growled.
"Niisama..."
"Mokuba, be quiet! This doesn't concern you!"
Mokuba's eyes widened at the extremely harsh snap his older brother had given him. He looked a little scared at the reaction, not having seen Kaiba react quite this badly to something that upset him since... well, since he'd met Yuugi. He looked at Amaterasu and Issun, and his expression seemed to be asking them to leave as well.

Amaterasu gave another whine, and Issun gave a sigh. He didn't really want to be here much longer. This Kaiba guy was giving Issun a headache, and it looked like he was giving himself a headache too. Amaterasu walked to the door with her head hung low, and gave a look toward Mokuba. Somehow or another, she was pulling off a worse look than a puppy dog eyes look.
"Hey, Kaiba, you might wanna learn to start praisin' the gods. At your rate, you're gonna need all the divine intervention you can get," Issun said. "Have fun sortin' through your mental--"
And then Amaterasu grabbed Issun in her mouth to shut him up before he made things worse. She walked out of the apartment, leaving only Kaiba, Mokuba, and one dead giant salamander.
