Mokuba looked guilty at Amaterasu's expression. He glanced at Kaiba, who still seemed lost in whatever he'd fallen into at Issun's (justified) harassment. After a moment he lowered his hand, his back turned to Mokuba.
"I'm going to lay down," Kaiba said in a dull voice before walking towards the bedroom.
Mokuba blinked and looked at the giant headless salamander in their living room. Was... was he supposed to do something about that? He looked towards the door Amaterasu had walked out of and then towards Kaiba as he closed the bedroom door behind him. He looked deep in thought for a few seconds before running out of the bedroom, seeing Amaterasu just before she reached the stairs.
"Hey, wait!" he said, running to catch up with her.

Amaterasu had not said anything to Issun on the way to the stairs. It wasn't so much that she was depressed as she was bothered by Kaiba's actions.
She turned at the sound of Mokuba's voice just as she was about to start making her way down the stairs. She tilted her head to the side and gave a whine as she saw the boy approaching. Why was he running after her?
Issun, don't say anything yet, Amaterasu ordered. I want to see why Kaiba's brother has come after me before you speak to him.

Mokuba put his hands on his knees and caught his breath upon coming up in front of Amaterasu. It was about a minute before he straightened up a deep breath.
"I'm sorry about Niisama... he doesn't like anything he considers supernatural. He had to take care of me and decided at a young age that believing in that kind of stuff just prevented you from doing things yourself. He's just as bad about it with Yuugi-tachi and the Items and stuff," Mokuba rubbed the shallow cut on his throat for a moment, "I don't know if I know about all this god stuff, but I'm worried about him. That Enjin guy isn't the first one to try and kidnap me, and I've never seen Niisama act quite like this. I don't even know what he was talking about with that Pharaoh line, but I do know that Atem, that Egyptian friend of Yuugi's, is from Ancient Egypt. If there's anything I can do to help protect him, let me know! Please!"

Amaterasu only continued to tilt her head to the side at Mokuba's statements. It didn't mean that she was uncomprehending. Rather, she couldn't express her comprehension in a way humans would understand while in this form.
When Mokuba begged her to tell him what he could do to help, Amaterasu took a couple steps toward him and licked his hand. Issun jumped up from the fur around Amaterasu's neck.
"I think right now what you need to do is comfort your bro," Issun said. "He looked really shaken up in there. I dunno what made him say all that stuff 'bout Pharaohs and letting that Kisa chick die and stuff, but I think it freaked him out pretty bad."

Mokuba still felt weird talking to a wolf, even with the painted fur. And when she tilted her head, all he could think of was the way dogs sometimes reacted when they were confused. He pushed forward on his statements, addressing Issun more than Amaterasu. He looked worried and puzzled as she licked his hand, and wiped it on his pants in a subconcious motion.
"I don't know if he'll listen to me, though. I can't do anything about it. I met that Kisa girl, but I haven't seen her since. Niisama has never cared about anyone but me. What am I supposed to say? Last time he got angry like this..." Mokuba hesitated. He looked away, "I don't think he's going to listen to me... And on the first we..."
Mokuba's eyes widened, "Hey! You said she's Amaterasu, right? Do you know that shrine in Bonsai? Niisama's set up to take part in the New Year's festival! If that went well it would really help, he's been so stressed about that lately!"

Amaterasu flattened her ears back and looked a bit taken aback at Mokuba's comment about the festival. Actually, she didn't like meddling in her aunt's affairs. If they were having a festival there, then that meant Izanami had agreed to it. It wasn't Amaterasu's place to interfere or aid. Also, she just really didn't like her aunt.
"New Years, huh? I think the boss could swing something to work with that..." Issun said. Amaterasu blinked, and her ears shot straight up. "Oh, come on, Ammy, it ain't like it's the end of the world anymore."
Amaterasu gave a light whine. She really didn't want to go to that shrine on that particular day.
"Yeah, sure, we can go make sure nothin' goes wrong then," Issun said. "I don't think Izanami'll mind if we just do that."

Mokuba looked relieved. He closed his eyes and nodded, "That would be a huge..."
He paused when Amaterasu whined. He opened his eyes and looked at her. Issun covered her before Mokuba could worry about it too much. He didn't look entirely convinced, but he nodded again.
"It would be a huge help. The entire launch is kind of riding on this going well, so.... thanks. I'll see if I can get him to listen to me. I mean, I've got a better chance at it than Yuugi-tachi."
