(OOC: Private RP between me and Jilak.)
"Tch. What did the fool think the title was for... Show?"
A 6'1" Japanese teenager was walking away from rather... graphic scene. The teenager himself had medium length bleach blond hair and black bangs that matched his roots spiking straight up. His blood red school uniform jacket was held open and a black shirt was underneath, halfway unbuttoned. There were no buttons for the cuffs on his jacket, which were also open as a result. He flipped up the top of his breast pocket, which looked as if the crest that had once been there had been ripped off - a bone button with the kanji for death was in the center of where it should have been. His right ear was pierced twice, with the upper hole having a brass stud in it and the lower one having a bone carved from bone put through it. A scar ran from the left side of his mouth over to his ear, almost as if someone had tried to cut it off before.
Behind him stood another boy about his age, with blood red hair with black roots. It wasn't just the hair that was blood red. His throat was sliced open as if by a blade, as was his chest and several other areas. Blood ran down his scalp onto his face, the eyes frozen open in eternal terror. The blood still seeped, but it was evident he would bleed out soon.
The teenager still alive pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a black Zippo lighter. He tapped the pack on the wrist holding the lighter before flipping it open with his thumb and pulling out a cigarette with his mouth. He paused only to glance around before turning a corner and heading deeper into the twisted back alleys of hte Island. He closed his cigarette pack and dropped it back into his pocket before lighting the cigarette, taking a drag and pulling it out as he walked.
You didn't betray the Neo Death Gods. Not if you valued your life. He smirked to himself at the thought as he walked, pulling out the cigarette and letting out a chuckle. Not if you feared the Shinigami.

Nestled at the end of one of the few quiet little alleys of dimensional island, a portal snapped open. Whatever means through which the portal was opened, the Island seemed not to like it. It wasn't incredibly rare for one to experience a violent entry, what with the nature of the island, but this individual was practically rocketed out. A teenager, around the proper age for high school, essentially flew out of the dark red portal, scraping the knee of his blue uniform. He finally skidded to a halt, slightly ruffling his bright orange hair. Seemingly not a stranger to pain, the boy quickly leapt to his feet, hands curled tightly into fists.
"URAMESHIIIIIII!" Kazuma Kuwabara called out, seemingly to the heavens. He was drawn from his fit, however, as he looked behind him, noticing that the portal had snapped shut. His face showed a tinge of worry before he dashed back to the wall it had been stationed upon, feeling around for something. Seeming to not have found whatever it was he was interested in, he brought his hands to his head in exasperation.
"Oh, dammit! How the hell am I supposed to get back now?! This is all your fault, Urameshi! If you hadn't disappeared, I wouldn't have had to come here and find you!" Kuwabara lamented, punching the wall before him. He quickly realised his mistake, cradling his throbbing hand.
"You'd better not be dead, or else I'll kill you!" Kuwabara grumbled as he clutched his reddened hand.

The teenager stopped suddenly and jerked his head around as the shout bounced off the walls of the alley. After a moment of standing there he reached up and pulled the cigarette out of his mouth, cupping the back of his ear with the thumb of the hand holding the cigarette. It wasn't a voice he knew...
He rolled his eyes. If it wasn't one thing it was another. He stuck the cigarette back in his mouth and turned a corner he'd ben about to walk past. He wasn't going any faster than before, or with any less of an indication he had a destination. It was another turn when he came on another teenager in a school uniform. The blue uniformed teenager had his back turned and appeared to be holding onto his hand, muttering something under this breath.
"And who might you be?" the teenager spoke loud enough to be heard, a trace of amusement in his voice. He was standing with his legs spread and his hands in his pocket, "Either lost or extremely stupid, in any case."

Kuwabara jumped a bit as a voice came from behind him. He was still getting used to his more or less deadened senses, so surprising him at this point was actually somewhat easy. While he could still for the most part sense reiki, sensing youki was almost completely out of the question. Bottom line is, he didn't know the other teenager was coming until he spoke out. Kuwabara quickly regained his composure, however, stabilising himself.
He put his hands onto his hips, thinking. If this guy caused a commotion, there could be a problem. Kuwabara would have to rely on his own physical strength, and, while he was pretty strong, he'd come to learn that sometimes physical strength alone wasn't enough to get by on. Quite a few times, really. Most of the times. Most of them.
He quickly spun to face the individual, pointing his thumb towards himself. Right, he just had to play it cool. While he was pretty under-equipped here, he was still Kazuma Kuwabara! He'd still almost bested Yuusuke at least once or twice! That had to count for something in this... place, right?
"I'm Kazuma Kuwabara, Sarayashiki Junior High School's second best brawler!" He exclaimed, ending with a peace sign of sorts and a somewhat goofy grin. When he actually looked at the individual before him, however, his face paled. He... didn't look very nice, that was for sure.
Kuwabara was never one to run from a fight, however, and he didn't plan to pick up such a bad habit now. If it came to it, he didn't plan to run. But it very likely wouldn't come to it. The gent before him seemed like a nice enough chap. Like the sort of guy that helped the elderly across busy streets, and whatnot.
Kuwabara let out a sort of awkward chuckle.

"I suppose lost and stupid is always an option," the older teenager muttered past his cigarette, rolling his eyes. He stayed in the position he'd taken upon calling out to Kuwabara. The cigarette hung loosely from the right corner of his mouth and his hands were in his pants pockets. The edges of bandage wraps could be seen coming up his wrists, a sign of wrapping.
"Kumuchi Shigemi, Shikan High School's most notorious dilenquent, and banchou of the Neo Death Gods," the older teenager said. He raised an eyebrow and pulled his hands from his pockets, crossing his arms. Kuwabara would now be able to see the spiked edges of brass knuckles coming up from under the wrappings on his hand. He smirked, "And you're knee deep in the territory of the shinigami."

Well, that was just perfect. The guy had said he was the most notorious of his high school, and he'd used the term shinigami. Not only that, but he was the banchou. Under normal circumstances, Kuwabara would have actually been incredibly worried. But something about the fact that he'd never heard of this 'Shikan High School' didn't exactly incite terror in the teen. In fact, he returned his hands to his sides, breaking into a fit of laughter. He wasn't sure if it was the novelty of the situation or if he was actually that nonplussed, but he could barely contain himself.
"Yeah, okay! Like I would care about some low-classed high school banchou! Yokai quake in my presence! So you'd better just get out of my way!" Kuwabara yelled, smirking. He was certain he had this under control, now.

Shigemi blinked at Kuwabara broke out into peals of laughter, confusion flashing across his face for a second. Only a mere second, and Kuwabara was too busy laughing to have noticed it. He spent some time waiting for Kuwabara to stop laughing so he could speak, but it seemed the boy had a better pair of lungs on him than he'd given him credit for. And then he smirked, the cigarette rising in his mouth with the action. He leaned against the wall to his left and pulled the cigarette out of his mouth, tapping the ashes into his hand before sprinking them on the ground in front of him.
"Yokai, eh? I'd almost consider that worth note if it weren't for the insult," Shigemi stood up, putting the cigarette back in his mouth, "Now what would make you think Shikan is so low class, Kazuma?"

Kuwabara frowned as the other individual asked his question. He was being disrespected here. First name, no honorific... the other individual was really starting to get under his skin. Kuwabara managed to maintain his self control, however. He was intent on this not ending in punches being thrown. Because here he was, in this mysterious place, with no reiki sword. As confident as he was in his own abilities, Kuwabara knew that, just this once, acting on impulse would be a pretty poor idea.
That, however, didn't mean that he would just let this disrespect go unnoticed. He was far too headstrong for that sort of thing. Perhaps Hiei or someone would have proceeded in a more rational fashion, but Kuwabara, unfortunately, did not contain the shorter demon's level of restraint.
"First of all, because I've never heard of it. Second, because it's got a low classed delinquent like you as it's number one! A real man fights with his own strength!" Kuwabara responded, cracking his knuckles. He'd noticed what seemed to be a pair of brass knuckles under Kumuchi's wrappings.
He was quite tactful in not mentioning that, until just recently, his 'own strength' included a sword made out of his own reiki.

Shigemi had just enough time to pull his cigarette out of his mouth before it was his turn to burst into laughter, and it had been at Kuwabara's first point. That he'd never heard of the school. The older teenager clutched his chest as he leaned over and laughed. It seemed he outright ignored the rest of Kuwabara's reasoning.
"Lost and stupid, indeed," he chuckled to himself. He straightened up, "Stupid and incredibly lost. Arguably more on the stupid. Where the hell do you think you are, Kazuma? Tokyo? Osaka? Hmm?"
That self assured smirk was back, and the man seemed almost out of breath from his peal of laughter. He looked at the cigarette in his hand a moment and dropped it on the ground, taking a step towards Kuwabara and crushing it under his heel.
"Are you honestly that clueless?"

Kuwabara growled. Not only was the other fellow disrespecting him, he was blatantly laughing at him. Even with the amazing self control he'd shown so far, Kuwa was beginning to lose it. He didn't feel he could stand this disrespect much longer. His rage only intensified once the other teen called him clueless. A bit silly, maybe, but not clueless. The bits of the meeting that Kuwabara had paid attention to had indicated that this was more or less a different dimension.
"For your information, I know exactly where we are! Koenma told me that much before he sent me on such a dangerous mission!" Kuwabara yelled, furious. He was perhaps too liberal with his use of the infant's name, but he was far too livid to care. Somehow, however, he managed to tactfully leave out the fact that he hadn't been selected for this mission. He'd just sort of rushed ahead before Botan or whoever was actually chosen got the chance to. He hadn't really paid much attention to the end of the meeting.

(OOC: That cruel amusement I mention is in the manga several times from (sort of...) humans. That one dude that kidnapped Eikichi had it - but I didn't want to mention it IC because I didn't want to draw attention specifically to him. Kuwabara's seen it before from quite normal humans too, so... XD)
The name didn't seem to have much effect on the older teenager across from Kuwabara. The flash across his face was that of confused unrecognition. Instead he focused on the other words. He waved his hand as if shooing away a fly and gave a casual shake of his head as he took another few steps forward. There was still considerable distance between them. Shigemi was about four steps away from one turn, and Kuwabara was about one step away from the one behind him.
"So you are just stupid, then? I don't know if I should be relieved or amused. Although I have to doubt you know as much as you think. You just don't seem all that smart," Shigemi said with a tap on the side of his head. Not with his knuckles, for obvious reasons, but with the flat of the fingers just past them, "But I suppose it won't hurt to teach you a few things. You might be right about Shikan's reputation, but that would merely be because organized schools of that sort are all but impossible to find around here. Besides, the school itself shouldn't matter. Anyone with a brain fears the Neo Death Gods for being the Neo Death Gods, not some foolish academic association."
He took a step forward and pointed at Kuwabawa, his body sideways. His left arm pointed forward, his right thumb was hooked on his pocket. He gave a smirk that spoke of danger just barely hidden below the surface. The cruel amusement in Shigemi's eyes was the type Kuwabara would know well, he'd seen it often before, "And you're right in the middle of their territory, Kazuma."

Kuwabara, for a moment, seemed quite honestly a bit frightened. The individual before him had a fair point. The Neo Death Gods were a group to be feared, and no matter what school this guy came from, if he was their banchou... he'd be trouble enough even if Kuwabara could still access his reiki sword. But here, now, without any reiki attacks to speak of? It would be nearly impossible. And while standing his ground wasn't the smartest move, no one could ever accuse Kazuma Kuwabara of being smart. No one could accuse him of being a coward, either. That wasn't a thing that stopped being true.
He shoved his hands in his pocket then, smirking. This quickly evolved into a slight chuckle, which quickly evolved into another moment of laughter. Not nearly as long as his last, however. He didn't really have time for such pleasantries.
"That's too bad. See, I've got this thing called an honour code. I don't back down from a fight, no matter how strong my opponent is, even if it looks like I'm going to die. So if you think you're going to scare me that easy, you're wrong." Kuwabara brought his right fist to his left palm now, smiling.
"Come on then, Shigemi. Show me what 'Shikan high's most notorious' can do!" Kuwabara yelled, charging at the older teenager, right fist raised back.

Shigemi smirked to himself as Kazuma gave his bravado speech. He heard the respectable smack the fist to palm made, but he didn't change his pose at all. He didn't even more as Kazuma began to rush forward, beyond lowering his arm and sticking it in his free pocket. He didn't seem like he was going to move either, just standing there with a grin gaining size as the younger teenager quickly closed the distance. He didn't move...
...until Kazuma just slightly adjusted his angle when he was almost on top of him. It wasn't a feint, just the tensing of muscles that lead up to a blow. At that point Shigemi sidestepped, completely removing a target and likely causing Kazuma's center of balance to be fried and bringing him forward. The speed at which he'd dodged had been damn impressive, particularly for a human. It wasn't unnatural, but it was fast nonetheless.
During Kazuma's inevitable recover period, Shigemi reached into his pants pocket and pulled out what looked to be a switchblade knife handle constructed entirely out of bone. Kazuma likely wouldn't be able to catch the detail, particularly as a bone blade flipped out of the side of the knife, but each side had both all capital English letters and kanji at the bottom end. One said said "SHIGEMI" and had the kanji for death, and the other side said "DEATH" with the kanji for his name on it. He had enough time to toss the blade to his other hand in a show of arrogance before Kazuma would recover.

Kuwabara had indeed been put off-balance by Shigemi's sidestep. Incredibly off-balance, actually. To be exact, he seemed to more or less topple forward. Due to his, he missed the detail on the other teen's knife. More importantly, he hadn't even noticed the knife, due to the fact that he was sort of quickly heading towards the ground. Visibly, he seemed quite unable to recover. It was, however, a feint. Kuwabara realised, the moment Shigemi had dodged, that hitting him wasn't exactly going to be easy.
He realised he would have to change his usual tactics, and go a more strategic route. At least, as strategic a route as he could go. It was unfamiliar ground for him.
Therefore, upon realising that he'd missed the other teen, he allowed himself to fall, going with the flow. Just before hitting the ground, however, he forced his two palms out, pushing himself back. He extended his right leg, intending to land a solid kick to Shigemi's chest.
It left him in an unfortunate position, however. If Shigemi reacted in time, he'd be able to grab Kuwabara's ankle. This was something that didn't quite factor into Kuwabara's thought process, to be fair.

There was a moment of surprise in Shigemi's eyes as Kazuma's foot shot up. He shoved back with one of his own feet, his switchblade flicking open even as it twirled to a more usable position in his left hand. All this during the middle point of Kazumas kick. If Shigemi was nothing else, he was damn fast.
As the kick reached it's apex, before gravity had had its chance to drag Kazuma down for his kind of wide open attempt at a recovery, Shigemi swung his arm forward. The cut that was inflicted on the back of Kazuma's ankle as Shigemi arched to the side to avoid another clever recovery from the younger teenager was very shallow. He'd either almost missed or was just giving a warning, and his dark amused expression and following words cleary indicated the latter.
"Point," Shigemi made a somewhat erroneous fencing refernece, "You do realize I could have just robbed your ability to walk on that leg ever again, correct?"
