Black Wings of Strength (private)

Small black feathers were dotting Mt. Bonsai lately- none of them belonged to any known form of bird. not a Crow, nor a blackbird, or even a bird with partial black coloring. Rather, they belonged to a knight- a knight from planet Pop Star, but none currently heard of.

This knight- Raven- had been quietly watching over the mountains. Gaurding them in secret should something foul happen to this beautiful ground. Blue Eyes staring out of his seperate eye holes, he watched on- quite carefully.

Not too far below the knight, two Oni were walking outside of the village. The taller one said to her companion, "Huh... check it out, Suika; this place looks like the Human Village in Gensokyo..."

Suika responded, slightly slurred, "Yeeeahhh... interestin'... wonder if there's a shrine like Reimu's around here?"

Yugi said, "Eh. I don't care too much about that. We've met some strong people already, but... there's probably more."

Watching from a high up point- wings folded closely together- he caught sight of two wandering women- humanoid in shape, by what he could see. Unwraping himself, he hopped down from his perch and flew toward them, his wings giving off a mighty wind with each flap. "Excuse me!"

Dropping right in front of them, his back (and wings) to them first, he quickly turned to look at them both- and his blue eyes almost shot out of his mask when he saw their horns. "Aah-! Hmph. Forgive me- that was accidental. Anyway- I see you're here for the first time- wouldn't that be why you're here in the mountains?"

He couldn't take chances- using his wings as a covor, he placed his hands to his side, ready to pull out his heavy swords when needed.

The two Oni turned to the newcomer. Yugi was the first to speak. "Ah! Um... Hello. Who might you be?"

Suika took a drink from her gourd, and said, "Want a drink?"

Yugi facepalmed. Suika always did that when they met a new person.

He kept his hands well hidden. "N-no thanks. I don't drink. Anyway, forgive me for my informality- my name is Raven Knight, one of the most powerful Knights in Dreamland, my homeworld. It is... a pleasure to make your aquaintance."

Yugi said, through her facepalm, "Yugi Hoshiguma. Oni. From the land of Gensokyo.

Suika said, "Suika Ibuki! Oni from Gensokyo."

Yugi said, "So, you're one of the strongest from your world? Funny; we're two of the strongest from ours! Wanna test your strength against us?"

Just a test, huh? He removed his hands from his side and let his wings unfold. "I don't see why not."

Not slowing down, he quickly unsheathed both of his swords from hammerspace- both about the same size as himself, not counting the handles. Taking a moment to consider, he chucked one of his swords high- then landed close to them with a loud CRACK! as it broke apart a section of the earth it fell in. "Strongest or not, i refuse to fight an opponent unfairly. Unless you deem it a just decision."

Yugi whistled lowly at the sword when it cracked the ground. "Whoo... that's pretty impressive." She then pulled it out of the ground, swung it a few times, and tossed it back, saying "Thanks but no thanks. We Oni don't use weapons like that. All we need are our fists and whatever powers we have."

Yugi handed her Sake Dish to Suika. "I can tell you're strong, so I'm going two-handed the whole way through." She focused her power, making a song play, then got into a stance.

Suika stepped back, out of the way.



Yugi motioned to Raven Knight and said, "Awright! Let's do this!"

Raven caught the sword in mid-flight, then quickly swung it in his hand, before using his second hand to continue on with what seemed like some form of dance. Pushing both blades to the front, his eyes seemed to sink. "I was hoping not to resort to both blades, but if you believe you can handle it," Puting his hands in front of his mask, he quickly- and forcefully pushed them back into position with terrifying force. "Then so be it!"

Unleashing a large gust of wind, Raven used his wings and lifted off of the ground- then flew at her as fast as he could with both of his heavy swords in hand. "Since you seem powerful, I'll try not to hold-" he turned to his right in mid-air, then used his left blade in a back-hand motion to swing at her left. This happened quite quickly- the action only took as long as it would to finish his sentance. "-back!!"

Yugi reacted quickly, dropping down to the ground in a sort of limbo. Some hair got cut, but she never really cared about that. "Alriiiight! You're really strong; this'll be fun!" Yugi dashed towards him, launching a stream of Danmaku on both his sides.

She lunged forward with a punch, preparing to follow up with a spinning kick. "Take this!"

Thinking fast, he flew back and landed on the ground- swinging both swords in unison to wipe out the Danmaku coming at him. "Child's play- Vulcun jabs are more threatening-!"

Seeing her punch, he bent backwards and used the flexibilty pretty much all Dreamlanders were born with to dodge it- then proceeded to drop his swords next to him and spring up, landing a single, mighty punch onto her stomach. Not satisfied, he gave her just a few more- then used his wings to slingshot a headbutt- which was a sore idea. "Ow..." he moaned, rubbing his head. "I knew your body would be tough, but not like that..."

Yugi smirked in spite of the dull ache from the blows. "We're pretty durable, that's for sure. You're no slouch, either. ...You're the second opponent that mandated the use of this attack this early." A card appeared in her hand. "Feat of Strength! Storm on Mt. Ooe!"

Large orb danmaku started raining down; around Yugi, they fell rapidly, and on the outer edges of the area, they fell more slowly.

Suika was watching intently, drinking from her gourd.

Despite the ache, he managed to hear every word. "I feel sorry for the first person, then." Taking heed that she was saying some sort of incantation, he looked up- and saw the projectiles coming down. "Now this I can handle."

Swords outstretched, Raven lifted up and began spinning around, a small black tornado forming around him. The swords cut at the Danmaku quite easily- which was unusual considering the fact it was energy based. He continued with that, slowly moving toward her as he maintained form. When it seemed the storm calmed down, he stopped spinning and unleashed three powerful looking energy waves from his swords- Sword beams, adapted to his swords' size and shape. "Gyah!"

Now, Yugi had seen attacks like that before; they weren't exactly uncommon in Gensokyo. However, that was the first time she had fought someone who used them. She took all three of the blows and hit the ground, a shattering sound denoting the Spell Break.

"Oof!" Slowly pulling herself up, Yugi said, "...I can continue going... but we might end up breaking this whole part of the mountain off if I do."

Suika was watching with intent eyes, curious as to what would happen.

Raven realized what had happened- and calmed down at her words. Slowly, he walked up to her, his eyes looking somewhat squinted and angry. As soon as he was close to where she had fallen, he rose his swords up high, and swung-

Just to insert them into the ground next to her. "I'm not one to continue fighting in an area in danger of shattering. If we were to continue, however, i reccomend it be hand to hand."

He calmed himself, wrapping his body in his wings. "I'm thankful for the challange you gave me- it was quite... thrilling, as it were." Without hesitation he began to walk away. "I bid you farewell. May we cross paths on a later date..."

He wanted to travel with them. To make friends. to learn of their world, and more about them... But he just couldn't. it was the job of a knight to protect... wasn't it? Still continuing on, a small tear drop slid from under his mask, glowing the same color as his eyes.
