The abandoned hallway was unusually quiet, even for an abandonded hallway. Ninten was new to the island but he wasn't completely lost. He was already starting to find his way around the city. However he hadn't explored this area of the mall just yet and he was sensing some strange energy coming from here, completely unlike any PSI energy. He was approaching the center of the hall when another boy fell from the balcony above that looked a lot like him.
"Ow..." he moaned. Another boy jumped down after him who had strange blonde hair.
"Are you alright?" the second boy asked the first one.
"I'm fine," he replied looking up and noticing Ninten. "Oh, sorry. Hey you look a lot like me!"
"Yeah I noticed that too..." Ninten half mumbled ", Who are you?"
"My name's Ness and this is Lucas," Ness introduced them. Lucas gave a shy wave. "How about you?"
"Um, my name's Ninten."
"Hmm, neat. So why are you hanging around here?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing. I sensed some weird energy here and I'm looking for the source of it."
"Same here actually. What a coincidence...hey do you want to look with us?"
Ninten hesitated at first but then he agreed. "Sure."
"Alright then, I think it's near this end. Let's go!"

"Strange energy..? Ah, of course, you must be psychics," came a cool voice laced with a German accent.

Ninten and Ness continued walking, not hearing the voice but Lucas heard it. He turned around to find out who was there.
"Wh-who's there?" he called out nervously.

Ninten and Ness just stared at Homsar for a moment.
"Ooookay then," Ness said in a very confused tone.
Lucas was still distracted by the other voice.

"Relax..." Sasha came out of the shadows, raising his hands defensively. "That energy you're detecting is a jewel piece, which should be in this immediate area. And if your intentions for finding it check out with mine, I'll be more than willing to help you find it."

"Pshoo!" said Homsar as he floated toward Sasha. "And now we return!" said Black Mage and Richard in unison. "The jewel piece here belongs to us and whoever the hell we work for!" BM stated. "And we'll be happy to kill you all to take it" Richard added.

Sasha immediately stiffened up, taking a defensive position. "..I think not."

They all turned around to see Sasha and just in time to hear Richard and Black Mage.
"Wait a minute!" Ness interrupted ", I'm really confused. What exactly are we looking for anyway? What is this jewel thing?"

"You have yet to hear of the Nest Jewels?" Sasha glanced at the children oddly.

"The jewels are part of one BIG jewel that holds much power and can control the beings known as Dark Insects. But aside from that, the jewel PIECES themselves hold much power and can greatly enhance the power of the owner. Both Richard and I have one" explained Black Mage. Richard held up his jewel piece and Black Mage held up the hand with the imprint of the jewel. "We both work for a higher authority, though." said Richard
"And now you will die!" Richard shouted as he lunged forward and grabbed Ness and Ninten by their throats. Black Mage held a knife at Lucas' jugular vein. "Oh it's SO fun having hostages, Richard." he exclaimed cheerfully. "Yes it is, Black Mage." Richard replied as he started charging the disintegration spell into his arms as a threat to Ness and Ninten.
"Now, kid." said Black Mage "I'd advise not moving, as I have a knife at your jugular vein, and I could slip and cut it. All of your blood will be on the ground in 4 minutes and there is no way to stitch the jugular vein. I have seen this, I have done this, you don't want this!"

Lucas sat perfectly still, but he was so afraid that tears were flowing down his face.
"L-Lucas!" Ness called out to him ", Let me go!"
Ninten had to think quickly, as if he messed up they could both die. Then an idea hit him. Quickly he grabbed Ness hand and shouted ", 4th-D Slip!" The two of them disappeard out of Richard's grasp completely.

"These people happen to be feeling lucky don't they?" asked Richard. "Yep," said Black Mage as he started charging a Onejeweldoken. "Die!" shouted Richard. He threw several fireballs at the group.

Ninten and Ness reappeared away from the two villians, Ness looking very surprised.
"Y-you're a PSI user?" he asked.
"Yeah, I am...wait are you?"
"Guys, now's really not the time!" Lucas shouted over to them as Sasha and Lucas reappeared. As the fireballs flew towards Ness and Ninten, Ness shouted out ", Shield!" A shield made of PSI energy appeared. It didn't fully stop the attack but it managed to block most of it.
Lucas didn't have time to dodge as more fireballs flew towards him and Sasha so he simply waited for them to connect.
