Everything that was going on with the Azerothian's completely escaped Twilight's attention as she looked at the letter. Quite a few emotions played on her face as she read it. At first, there was happy surprise that seemed to rid her of her well hidden tired expression, when she learned that Rainbow, Fluttershy and Spike were okay... Then there was a look of horror on her face when the implications of such a portal being open could mean...
Briefly, her eyes wandered to the Azerothian's, her purple face becoming paler. If THEIR world was darker then Equestria was...
How dark was this Dimensional Island?!
She got her answer when she read the attached letter that was written by this... Micheal Neilson person. Odd name to be sure... But she read on and quickly the horror set in. Hypothermia?! Someone actually DIED???
Sweet Celestia!! This was HUGE!!
Picking up the letters with a bit of magic, she quickly nodded her head to the others. "Guys, I'm sorry, but I have very important business to handle!" Before she ran off however, she turned to Big Mac. "Big Macintosh, if you happen to run into your sister, can you tell her to meet me at the Library? If she could pick up Rarity while she's at it that would be great!"
And with that, she quickly ran off with a trot, the letter she recieved from Derpy floating by her side.

Vinyl frowned. That figured. She wasn't used to having to forage for food either. And she didn't really trust the berries and foliage of the forest. Poison Joke was no joke. Who knows what other kind of stuff was in the forest?
"Oh well," she said, idly kicking the ground. "So. Why'd you come all the way out here?" she asked, curious. "Don't like your friends too much or something?"
Derpy herself was surprised that the new people weren't making fun of her. Half the ponies in town had! But they were just jokes and she knew that jokes were not to be seriously taken and were joking around. So it didn't bother her too much anymore but her daughter would get really sad and upset when people joked around her now. So she tried to avoid that as much as she could whenever Dinky was around.
She did a quick scan around to see if anyone else was around who needed a delivery. She already dropped off the mail at the Apple family's house (she liked going there because the apples were so sweet and Granny Smith usually gave her a piece of apple pie that was so delicious and tasty!) and the new people didn't even have mailboxes!
Oh, that was right! Spike the Dragon also had a letter. "Twilight I remembered what I forgot and it was that I had a..." She had turned and noticed that Twilight was hurriedly making her leave. Uh oh. She would have to go to their house herself now.
Mail could not wait for too long but she had a few minutes to spare she figured, so she decided to hang around. Mayor Mare wouldn't mind if she took a little break right? She double checked her mail bags. She had the Princess's letters to Pinkie Pie and Rarity still in them. Good. Those were absolutely important even more important than the regular mail. But those couldn't be forgotten either!

Myushelle shook her head. "Amongst my companions of war hardened veterans and soldiers in arms against the vast armies of the Horde, I stand as a testament to a previous era, when the war seemed to be at a close. I am a former member of an organization known as the Knights of the Ebon Blade. We are death knights, necromantic warriors raised to fight in the name of an evil undead king. He held a tight grip on our minds, but the Light, a benevolent deity of sorts, freed us from his grasp." She shrugged lightly. Despite the fact that what she was saying, by all right, belonged in a horror story, she seemed at ease with it. "We death knights are animated corpses, you see. I appear to be alive right now, but that is the magic running through my veins."
"I was truly alive once. I was a druid, much like Anna back there. I fell in the Plaguelands. The Scourge, the undead organization the Knights of the Ebon Blade were once affiliated with, harvested my corpse with other heroes. We were tested from the moment we were brought back from death's embrace. Those of us who were brought back without ambition were not power hungry. They were put to death. Those like me, who had wanted to get strong in life, felt the power coursing through us... and wanted more. In life, I was jealous of the accomplishments of my sister. I wanted to prove myself and best her. That ambition fueled my descent into darkness. I became a servant of that undead tyrant, the Lich King, and forged myself into a weapon of death."
"After we broke away from the Scourge, however, we began to help the neutral faction known as the Argent Crusade. Like us, it was neutral. It only sought to do good, whether its recruits were from the Alliance or the Horde. We fought against the Lich King together and put a permanent end to him. But after the Lich King's death, there was nothing more for us death knights. All we know is war and death, after all. It's what we were recreated specifically for. Thus the leaders of the Alliance and the Horde use us. The Knights of the Ebon Blade were permanently disbanded as each and every 'former' hero returned to his or her respective faction. Now we fight and kill each other in the glory of the Alliance or the Horde... despite the fact we used to be brothers and sisters in arms."
She looked at Vinyl. "I can't remain near your village because I do not belong in such a colorful, peaceful area. It would ruin the balance of things. I fit in much better in dark areas like this. It brings about a certain tranquility that can't be found in any other situation."
Back with the others, Lunessa blinked, then grinned. "I get it now. Worlds like this one and our world connected with this... Dimensional Isle. It acts as a hub between worlds and we were sent here through some sort of alternate wormhole. Space time has finally ripped and non-fatal dimensional gateways are being opened up. Multidimensional travel is now a reality... This is amazing! I have got to start writing my theories on this now before some other gnome tries to claim the glory!"
"This is not amazing," Anna replied, causing Lunessa's face to fall. "This is a nightmare. Think about it for a minute. Consider our world for a second. Azeroth already has its fair share of problems concerning Deathwing, the Twilight's Hammer cult, and the effects of the Cataclysm. Now imagine if someone like this... Kefka person showed up there. On the other hand, consider this world. What if the Twilight's Hammer cult showed up here? It would be a disaster."
"The poor little ponies." Emeraldi looked between them all, lips quivering and eyes tearing up. "I can't let anything bad happen to them. Guys, one of us should stay here and..."
"No you can't. You will not. You are coming back to Azeroth with us and that is final," Helena said. "Besides, they apparently have two ponies here that control the sun and the moon. They don't need you when an invasion can be stopped by a sun literally being dropped upon them to burn them alive."
"Has it occurred to you, Ms. Ashenworth, that the denizens here might not be desensitized to that kind of war?"
"You do what you must to protect your people, even if it goes against who you supposedly are."

So... Equestria was now open to other worlds? Potentially ones just as dangerous as, if not more than, Azeroth? That definitely sounded concerning, to say the least. However, Big McIntosh knew there was nothing he could say or do about.
On the request to send his sister her way next time he saw her, the stallion gave Twilight a dutiful nod just before she took off. He then trotted off into town himself, cart full of harvest at hoof. "Welp... I best be goin' m'self... Got apples to sell."
He kept on a calm face as he headed for the market square. No one else in town needed to know what they'd just learned for the time being; it would cause an unnecessary panic.

Back in the Ponyville Library...
"Owlowiscious!!!" Twilight appeared to be running around the Library in a tizzy, using her magic to put up the books she had been reading, and placing her saddle bag onto the table to get it ready for a trip. "Owlowiscious come here!!"
When at last the owl responded to Twilight, it fluttered up looking somewhat confused as to what was going on. Twilight appeared to be packing her saddle bag with some basic supplies into the bag; apples and packs of grass to eat, books to read while there (Decidedly packing books on Dimensional theories, and magical books for reference), a collection of scrolls, quills, bottles of ink, and a few other things. All she really would need is the Elements of Harmony, Applejack and Rarity here and she'd be ready to go...
But still, it would be nice to know where to start looking for this portal... Thinking on it, she figured she'd need to ask around town. The last place anyone's seen Rainbow and Fluttershy would be good. Once she was finished packing, she quickly turned to her writing desk, picked up one of her quills , and and proceeded to write on the scroll before her, once she dipped the quill in ink.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Princess Celestia;
I have recieved your message, and am reacting appropriately to the situation. As of this moment, I am preparing myself for the trip to this other dimension, and soon enough, Applejack and Rarity will do the same.
Before I go into further detail, I shall give you an update on the situation as it stands. According to your letter, it seems it will be needed. Only a few days ago, Pinkie Pie has also went missing, just to add to those that have vanished. I can only assume at this point and time she is on this Dimensional Island same as Rainbow, Fluttershy and Spike.
You have nothing to worry about however Princess, me and my friends will keep our eyes open for Pinkie. Finding the first three lost ones will be simple since the letter from this foreigner has stated that they are all together in the same place, and with any luck, Pinkie Pie might find us.
As a personal request however, I am eager to send a message to Spike to check up on him and ask where we should start looking for this portal. Because make no mistake, as soon as Applejack and Rarity are all ready to go, we won't stop until everypony is found.
I am enclosing the letter to Spike along with this message, so it would be really appreciated if he got it.
Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle
---------------------------------------------------------------
With that letter written out, she set it aside to let the ink dry, and proceeded to write the letter to Spike.
[Said letter will be shown in one of the threads at the woods on Dimensional Island.]

Vinyl listened to all the details Myushelle mentioned, but quickly began to regret it. Everything she said was disturbing and unpleasant to hear. But that was all she needed to understand her point. She didn't want to disturb Ponyville.
"Well... I like dark places too, but probably for a much different reason..." She chuckled a little, but it was empty.
The funny looking two-legged people didn't say anything that made sense. Maybe Big MacIntosh would! But no, he had decided to leave.
May as well go deliver that letter! She gathered up her bags and flew off toward the Treebrary, keeping good time with Twilight down below. She arrived about the time the unicorn set the letter down. She flew toward the window, slowing down this time to avoid slamming into the tree bark. She touched down on the sill.
"Twilight! Spike has a fancy letter too! Can I enter please please?" She was courteous. She would not enter the room without permission.

Myushelle face palmed when she realized what the fuck she was saying. "What am I even saying to you? Your world's so bright that my story must sound like something that belongs in the horror genre. It was already seen as a disaster in our world, but trying to explain it to someone as untouched by the horrors of such a thing is just... cruelty."
Emeraldi noticed Big Mac leaving. She watched as he left with a blush on her face. She nearly made to follow, but Anna waved her hand lightly, seeing as everyone was leaving in the first place, and roots like those of a tree bound her there. She whimpered as the Druid circled around and looked Emeraldi dead in the eyes.
"Our answer is final. You're coming back to Azeroth. We have to best prepare to defend our world from what may come against it. And we have to destroy the Horde. I didn't want to be rough on you, but my sister is right. You are a soldier of the Alliance. It is your duty and your obligation to slaughter them all until none survive. If they dedicate themselves to Garrosh more then the salvation of Azeroth, they are monsters. That is all. Now... I will go retrieve Myushelle. Helena, you and Lunessa grab Emeraldi. We shall begin searching for a portal immediately and bother these kind equines no further. The extinction of the Horde and the supremacy of the Alliance counts on soldiers like us and we cannot bring our bloody war here."
"Thank you Anna! Anymore trite out of her and I think I might've just punched her," Helena said with an exasperated gasp as the druid took to all fours, like the wolf she technically was, and charged into the forest. Grabbing the priestess, she looked her dead in the eyes. "You heard my sister. You're coming with us. If we hadn't come here, you wouldn't have even gotten these delusions in your head. Everything would've been normal."
"War is useless here," Emeraldi replied. "Why would I ever want to go back to a world where war is required?"

"Huh??"
Twilight jumped to attention as she wrote Spike's letter, and turned to the window. "O-Oh! Derpy!" Putting away the quill a second, she walked over to the window and opened it with magic. Smiling a bit, Twilight magicked the letter over to a nearby table. "I'll make sure Spike gets this. Thank you very much Derpy."
A second before Derpy could leave however, Twilight tilted her head in curiosity. "Wait, hold on a second Derpy. Who sent Spike this letter?" It wasn't often Spike got mail really. Sure it wasn't any of Twilight's own business, but still, she was curious.

"Yeah, a little..." Vinyl frowned. "You know... despite all of that... I don't think it'd be so bad if you could live here. You could live in the forest if you wanted. I can't imagine having to deal with all of that on a regular basis. Maybe now that you're here, you can take some time off or something?" she suggested. Was worth a shot.
"You are most absolutely welcome," she said, and had turned to leave, when Twilight stopped her. "Oh! Um." She trotted over to look at the return name. She herself had forgotten. "Rarity it says right here so she sent it!" She smiled and nodded, and saw the letter Twilight had just finished writing. "Oh are you done with that? I can take it right now and fly it with speed and quickness wherever it has to go to!"
There was a knock at the door. "Twilight Sparkle!" came the voice, calling to her. "Special delivery from Princess Celestia." The poor purple unicorn had quite the hectic day today, it seemed.

Myushelle didn't reply to Vinyl. There was silence for sometime as she cooked the meat for herself. Then Anna appeared and the death knight looked at her. "Anna. Good timing. Could you make a salad for my new friend here?"
"You too?" Anna asked.
"Don't get me wrong. I know we can't stay here forever. But until we find out how to get back to Azeroth, I don't intend to be cruel or cold. Also, I kinda now owe her for making her suffer through hearing my life story."
"Dear Cenarius, why would you tell her that?" Anna asked as she began to take out some vegetarian and whip up a salad. "Emeraldi is being detained by Helena. They and Lunessa intend to search for a portal..."
There was a sudden sound. The ground seemed to shake. Myushelle looked shocked. Anna looked a little worried. And suddenly, without warning, a swarm of creatures rushed by, all looking frightened. They seemed to avert away from the camp, but they were rushing away from something. Anna's jaw dropped at all of the different species, but Myushelle scowled. Animals charging away from something was never a good thing. And she was just about to eat as well. "Anna... stay here with our friend," she replied before picking herself up and putting her armor back on. "I'm going to get to the bottom of this." She picked her runeblade up, sheathed it on her back again, and then made her way into the forest in the direction the animals were running from.
Cutting through the underbrush was a bitch, but what she noticed made her eyes widen. Tents were being set up and crystals set up were starting to corrupt the land around them. She noticed those crystals before. They were used to channel the power of the Old Gods. And sure enough, the purple robed figures emerged from the tent and whistled. The loud beating of wings could be heard as a black dragon landed, giving out a roar. Sweating bullets, Myushelle began to hurry back to the camp. They're here! How can they be here?! After what they did to Azeroth, these ponies HAVE to be warned! When she made it back, Anna noticed her panicked demeanor and her ears perked.
"What did you find Myushelle?"
"Twilight's Hammer... they're here!"
"What?!" Anna's expression darkened considerably. "Damnit! I was afraid of this... we have to find the others! We won't be able to return home with the knowledge they might try to spread their accursed influence here..."

Chuckling at Derpy, Twilight turned back to her own letter to Spike, briefly musing to herself how happy Spike would be to recieve a letter from Rarity. "Well, just give me a second Derpy. I was just finishing this letter up."
That was when she suddenly heard the knock at the door. "Oh! Just a second please!" She took a few seconds more and finished up her letter and set it aside to let the ink dry. "There." She turned to Derpy. "You can take them in just a minute or so, Derpy." As she said this, she attached Rarity's letter to Spike to her own. "After the ink dries, I want you to take them to Princess Celestia as fast as you can okay?"
As she said this, she clip-clopped over to the front door, and opened the door with her magic. "Yes?"

"Twilight's Hammer?" Vinyl didn't know Twilight had a hammer. Why would she need one? She had magic. Whatever it was, it made Anna and Myushelle very worried, which worried her as well. "Uhh... what can I do to, um... help?" Her voice had become quiet, indicative of her worried mood.
Derpy raised her left front leg and saluted. "Your wish is my lunch!" she agreed, understanding. Let the things dry and then take them to Celestia fast! The princess would be so proud of her and she will have done a good job like she always does. She withheld a giddy giggle. She wanted to go tell Dinky right now but not yet, that had to wait until the end of the day of course!
At the door, some of Celestia's royal guardscolts were standing. Three of them, and the middle one had a familiar box attached securely to his neck.
"The princess bade us deliver this to you," he said. The other two undid the chain and carefully presented it to Twilight so that she could take it. "I trust you recognize it and what it contains?"
It was the chest that contained the Elements of Harmony.

Myushelle sighed. "We'll tell you on the way, come on! I didn't want to summon this, but there's no time now!" Outstretching her hands, she chanted something Vinyl would not understand. Clouds formed in front of them and from the fog emerged something ghastly. It was a horse, but it looked to be decaying. It's flesh was kept on, but bones could be easily seen from it. It looked like something out of a nightmare, and its glowing blue eyes were the color of ice. The Acherus Deathcharger had seen Myushelle through all of her battles. She considered it her steed. Anna thought differently.
"All the mounts you pick and you choose the fucking undead HORSE?" She couldn't even begin to comprehend what might've been running through Vinyl's head at that moment. It was so jarring that she got through the "Lack of F-Bombs" claus that seemed to take effect in Equestria. "Your lack of brains aside, we have to hurry." Taking to all fours, the two began to run onward. No doubt Vinyl would follow, even as stunned as she was, as she'd want to know what the hell was going on. And Anna was happy to reply. It wasn't pleasant, but somebody needed to explain the situation.
"The Twilight's Hammer cult is an evil group that worships the Old Gods. It has nothing to do with your friend Twilight back there." She didn't read the unicorn's mind, but she might as well have. "In our world, they caused a great Cataclysm that ruined the world. The balance of nature that kept itself in hold was ruined when they unleashed a powerful being known as Deathwing, once great Warder of Earth... now the taker of numerous lives."
"I think I see the others up ahead," Myushelle reported.
"We of the Alliance, and even those of the Horde, are enemies to the Twilight's Hammer cult, as they are enemies to the world. If they are here, then it means that what Lunessa was babbling on about is not just plausible, but actual fact. Our world is integrating with others worlds. And if our enemies are going to try and spread destruction to other lands, we shall have to stop them there as well."

Twilight nodded at Celestia's guardscolts and magicked the box up. "Thank you gentlecolts. It was good of you to be prompt with this delivery." She placed the box next to her saddle bag, deciding to pack it up once she had everything all taken care of.
With that done, Twilight bowed her head to the guards. "Please extend my sincerest gratitude to Princess Celestia for sending these over so quickly."
Once the Guardscolts were gone, Twilight quickly rolled up the scrolls figuring they had dried off by this point. "Okay, Derpy. Here you go." Using her magic like telepathy, she quickly handed off the two scrolls to Derpy Hooves, one of them noticeably attached with the letter Rarity had sent Spike. "Think you can remember that the scroll with the letter attached goes to Spike? Celestia will make sure that Spike gets them." If Derpy was confused at what Twilight meant, the pony let out a sigh. "Sorry to say Derpy, but Spike isn't here right now. But Celestia will make sure he gets these letters. So make ABSOLUTELY sure she gets this along with her own letter, okay?"

The DJ pony tried to ignore the summon Myushelle had made, as well as she violent swear Anna used. These Twilight's Hammer people sure sounded like bad news. "We need to find a solution that can stop them without causing the other ponies to panic... We need to tell Celestia and Luna!"
That was really the only reasonable solution. But they were all the way in Canterlot!
The guardscolts nodded. "Of course, Twilight Sparkle," the lead colt said, as they turned to leave.
Derpy nodded. It helped that Twilight explained it twice. Ordinarily that would be construed as making fun of her handicap but Derpy knew Twilight wasn't like that and that she was trying to make sure she understood which she did.
She closed her eyes, as if hiding her telltale eyes would make her handicap go away for a minute. She had to be clear too or else Twilight would be sad. So she tried to phrase her words as carefully and clearly as possible. This was harder than it sounded.
"I... will make sure... that... the princess... gets both and they go where they need to go." She opened her eyes again, looking hopefully to Twilight's face for confirmation that she had gotten it right. Somehow, seeing Celestia's guardscolts had made it click to her. This situation was serious. So she tried to serious up.
