When Mizuno and Shantotto caught up with Jaron and Lucas and caught a glimpse of the one and only Princess, both had their own specific reaction. Mizuno looked utterly horrified having had the unpleasant experience of meeting Princess previously... The fact that she now had ice powers sorta frightened the fish boy.
Shantotto though?
"Hohohohoho! Princess on Ice so she says with a sneer,
But do watch out girl, for the one true main event is here!"
She grinned as she looked at Princess, looking ready for a brawl.
"But..." Mizuno still looked wide-eyed. "How did-?? When did she get powers??"

Jaron could still remember his first encounter with Princess earlier, and he certainly didn't remember her having powers of any sort.
Then again, she was unpleasant enough without them anyway.
Princess gave Mizuno the nastiest look possible. "Are ALL of you piles of (CENSORED) slime showing up? I'm gonna--"
BANG!
Princess fell over, apparently dead. Zero was standing behind her, holding the rifle. "Anticlimactic," he said as he stepped over her body. He gave Mizuno a look. "Okay, what's with the Creature from the Black Lagoon here?"
Jaron was just about to admonish him for that comment when he saw Princess rising up and giving Zero a look that said "You are seriously F****** right now."
"Zero, DUCK!"
Zero immediately reacted as such, then Jaron threw the sword shard directly at Princess.
She caught the thing in her teeth.
Well, better than it going through her head, Jaron thought.
Princess looked like she was about to spit it back at him when she saw that Lucas had jumped in front of her.
"PK Love!"
The attack sent her sliding backwards with a shriek. And when I saw sliding backwards, I mean she didn't stop.
Jaron picked up the shard (Princess had dropped it upon being nailed by the psychic attack) and looked at Lucas. "Please refresh my memory, how do we know her? And why does she suddenly have ice powers?"
Lucas shook his head. "She hates us, all you need to know right now, and you got me on the ice powers. And she's immortal."
"Yeah, Gantz told me about that..."
"AHEM!!!" Zero was tapping his foot impatiently. "Who was that?"
Any response was interrupted by a loud scream of "STOP IGNORING ME!"
They all turned to see that Princess was skating towards them with her typical murder-eyes look. When she was about ten feet away from them, she stopped and started to rapidly spin in place.
LIVE FROM SAN FRANCISCO CALIFORNIA...
Jaron looked around wildly. "What the--who said that?!"
Then things got weird again.
After the booming voice faded, the ice around the spinning Princess began to crack.
BROUGHT TO YOU BY ASBESTOS...(YOU WON'T BELIEVE THE LAWSUITS)
The ice shattered as enormous stage-lights burst from the lake and directed their lights on Princess, who stopped and struck a ridiculous pose.
PRINCESS...
ON...
ICE!!!
By this point what could only be described as a giant stage had appeared with Princess standing on it. "...does she--" Jaron began.
"No, she doesn't usually do this."
Any further conversation was interrupted as Princess leapt from the stage and dove towards Jaron skates-first.
"YIPPEE KI YAY, MOTHERF******!!!"
They all dove out of the way as Princess slammed into the ice. What is your DEAL?!" Jaron yelled.
Princess responded by slamming her heel into the ice, somehow causing several pillars of ice to erupt from the lake towards Jaron.
"Okay, nevermind FORGET I ASKED!!" Jaron rolled out of the way for the pillars, looking to Lucas, who had his weapon ready. Lucas simply nodded. He seemed resigned to the fact that they had to fight Princess again. Jaron made a mental note to ask how many times she had bothered them later.

"AAAAGH!!!!" Mizuno quickly dodged aside, looking horrified of what was going on. The icicles were certainly doing nothing to help. He slid on the ice upon landing, and he was having trouble getting back up. Apparently he had yet to completely regain his land legs.
Shantotto meanwhile dodged much easier then Mizuno did, a wind spell helping right herself in mid-air and landing on her feet. Grinning, she motioned a hand at the stalagmites and casted a spell.
"Hohohohoho! You are definately a spirited one!"
The spell caused the Icicles to shatter and then form another, much bigger one which Shantotto held over her head.
"But here is where I must say; are you truely done?
For I am about to show, with power second to none,
What happens when you compare an ember to the sun!"
She magicked the Icicle clean at Princess, grinning snidely the entire time. At the same time she prepared a lightning spell.

Princess's counterattack against this is best described as her karate kicking the icicle into the air and bringing her leg down, which apparently caused the ice skate to generate a blade of frost that was fired in Shantotto's direction.
"PK Fire!"
And thus the frost-blade-shockwave thing was melted. Lucas waved at Princess.
"Oh, you LITTLE SONOFA--"
That was the cue for Jaron to jump onto her from behind and put his hands over her eyes. "Gotcha!"
"BITCH!" Princess swiped at him blindly, sliding backwards uncontrollably. "Get OFF!"
"Whoa, hey, HOLD ON--OW!"
Princess elbowed him, knocking him off, then attempted to stomp on him as he lied on the ice. He promptly rolled out of the way, the razor-sharp ice skate missing him by an inch.
He scrambled up and took a step back from Princess, who snarled and made to move toward him, only to trip and fall over--her skate had gotten stuck in the ice.
Jaron sweated a little in embarrassment. "Okay..."

CRACK-SPLASH!!!!!
Not too far off Mizuno seemed to be trying to summon water from the frozen lake under the ice... And that sound could be seen as he succeeded. "There!" He said with a wide smile as he controlled the water and attempted to use it to whip Princess...
However, remaining out in the cold air too long caused it to freeze in mid-air. "Huh?" Mizuno though, didn't figure that out immediately. All he knew was that the water he was holding was now heavier mentally then it had been a few seconds ago. He quickly turned to the ice to see what had happened. "I can lift ice?"
"You are a Water telepath, a hydrokinetic are you not?"
Shantotto appeared to be sitting back for the time being, enjoying the show since it looked like Jaron and Lucas were doing pretty well.
"Then it comes as no surprise, that it's a power you've got."
.... Mizuno supposed that made sense. Before today, he had figured out that he could control steam since it was essentially water in gas form... So why not ice, water in it's solid form? Mizuno thought quickly seeking a way to take advantage of this...
His eye turned to the hole in the sheet of ice he made trying to get water....
Maybe...

Jaron ducked as Princess attempted to behead him with a spin kick. "Since when do you have ice powers?" he demanded.
"FIVE FINGER DISCOUNT!" This was punctuated by her kicking him in the chest, sending him flying into Lucas.
Princess cackled as she made to move forward.
"Ahem."
Click. BANG!
Princess collapsed as Zero lowered the rifle from behind her. "Okay, I'm willing to bet that we have maybe five seconds before she gets up, so let me get this straight--she's immune to bullets, right?"
"She's immortal, but yeah," Jaron replied as he and Lucas healed themselves.
"Thought so."
Princess stumbled back up and spun to face Zero. Before she could open her mouth in rage, Zero took out Soul Edge and swung his sword into her neck.
She stumbled back a bit and clutched at her throat. She frowned, realizing that her head was still attached. "...f*cK. So THAT's what happens?"

Princess' foot found itself landing on slab of ice... And she instantly heard it give slightly underneath her.......
When the group looked down to her feet, they found the ice cracking........ And even though Princess didn't move an inch the crack was spreading in a rather unnatural fashion... Meaning it was cracking into a perfect circle around her.
Mizuno smiled a bit as he carefully finished the circle and willed the water to move around under the circle, warming it, and weakening the ice under the Ice Bitch's feet...
"Funny what you can do with water in it's multiple forms huh?"

It took Princess about three seconds to realize what was going to happen before it did.
"Son of A--"
There was an almighty crack as the weakened ice cracked under her feet and gave way, letting her plunge into the water with a shriek.
Jaron and Lucas looked at each other. "Do you think--" Jaron began.
"PK Freeze!"
Lucas wasted no time in flinging his psychic ice power at the hole in the ice, sealing it completely.
"...is she going to be okay down there?" Jaron asked, sweatdropping.
Lucas wiped his brow. "Trust me--she's been hit with worse."

Mizuno smiled a clever little smile as Lucas closed up the ice as Princess fell into the water. That would keep her preoccupied for a while in any cases. "An extended bath in icy cold water shouldn't be any trouble for her. If anything, it'll just take a while to get out." As he said this he stretched out his arms, looking utterly relieved. "Feels good to be out of that ice..."
"I can only imagine it would young man,
Though, if I may, I wish to inquire you if I can?"
Mizuno looked to the professor with a confused expression.
"With as much control over the water as you had,
Do tell, why did you not break YOURSELF out, were you mad?"

Lucas and Jaron looked to Mizuno, curious. "That's a pretty good question," said Jaron. "And what were you doing down there to begin with?"
Zero, meanwhile, had gone back to the crater while the others spoke amongst themselves. "You're taking this situation rather well," Soul Edge noted.
"Clearly you have yet to encounter an albino echidna with a penchant for evil, mechanics, and stealing your spleen," Zero replied.
Soul Edge thought it would be best not to ask.
When Zero slid down into the crater, he looked around.
"...what happened to the CRL goons?"

It took a moment, but after a bit, Mizuno lowered his head, his gill like ears lowering down in apparent sadness. "I...... It's..." He sniffled a bit.. "I... It... It's Gantz and the others... I... I wasn't strong enough... Their... Their gone..."
Lucas and the others looked on at the fishboy with wide-eyed horror.

Zero looked around, completely bewildered. The squad members that Princess had frozen had vanished. "What, did they just get up and leave?"
"I doubt they would just allow their target to slip out of their grasp so easily."
Lucas had no idea what to make of Mizuno's statement. Gantz...gone? What does he--
"Wait, wait, what about Gantz?"
The others turned to Jaron as he stepped forward and grabbed Mizuno's shoulder. "What do you mean, they're gone? Have you seen Gantz? I was separated from him earlier..."

This MORE then caught attention fom the aquaboy as he looked to Jaron with wide eyes, ears lifted in surprise. "Wh-what?!?!" He rushed over to Jaron and grabbed him by his collar, the kid looking frantic and even hopeful. "Y-You saw him?!? You saw Gantz?!? Was he with the others?!?!? Where are they?!? Where did you see them?!?!?"
"Oh pish posh, calm down young man,"
Blinking, he turned to Shantotto who continued on.
"Show some decorum, if you possibly can."
..... Mizuno lowered Jaron back down on the ice looking desperate. "B-b-b-but-!"

Jaron placed a finger on Mizuno's lips, silencing him instantly. "Mizuno, I know you're worried--trust me, I know how you feel on that front--but you need to calm down. Can you do that for me? I'll tell you everything that happened, just calm a little."
It was at that point that Zero emerged from the crater. "Oi! You guys done yakking? I think--"
"Not now, Zero!" said Jaron, still looking at Mizuno. Zero glared.
"Hey, this is import--"
"I said not now!" Jaron yelled. Zero opened his mouth to retort only for Jaron to look at him threateningly.
...forget it, it's not worth the argument. "Fine, just hurry it up," he grumbled as he slid down into the crater.

The only real response that Jaron got the first few minutes after saying what he did was Mizuno breathing hard and frantically... After a second, his breathing finally did calm down. "I.. But..." He took a deep breath. "O-Okay... I'm s-sorry... I just... I just haven't seen him in a while..."
He lowered his head, looking a fair amount distressed. "And... And I..."
'I failed when my friends needed me most', he could have said 'I couldn't protect Red or Rosaline, or anyone', he could have said... But he felt bad enough already... So he said nothing at all, distress turning into a look of depression.
