The sight of Mizuno looking so distressed was more than Jaron could bear. "Come on, let's sit down. Besides, this'll let me tell you and Lucas everything that's happened so far..."
He recounted everything that had happened since he woke up in the church, stopping every once in a while to answer one of Lucas's questions. When he had finished he looked at Mizuno expectantly.
"I don't know where Gantz and the others are right now, Mizuno, but hopefully Alex will have found them by now. Kinda wish he stuck around, though, he would've been able to tell them you're okay."

Mizuno looked rather unsure about what to make of the story at a few points. There was a few things he recognized from the story; He frowned quite apparently at the mention of Kavma and Crystal Room, more then remembering what their scientists tried to do to him a long time ago (Namely trap him in a glass container, and plan to do god only knows what; an action that sealed a firm dislike for the place and anyone related to it), his eyes widened and he smiled when he learned that Gantz and the others were okay, including Rose and Red (He respected both like siblings; Rose being the kind and gentle older sister, and Red being the sweet and innocent little sister). He also took comfort in knowing that Gantz, as well as his caretakers Gene and Lilia had been looking for him.
When Jaron finished his story, Mizuno let out a huge sigh of relief. "I... I'm happy to know everyone is okay..." He looked to Jaron with a smile. "I'm... Glad to know you are too Jaron... And you Lucas." He lowered his head... "I... I do also wonder... What their up to now..."
Well, Mizuno was certainly a timid and emotional little thing Shantotto noted... Damn her consciense choosing now to ward off her curiosity of the creature, and how his powers worked. She would have learned much studying him... Ah, oh well...
She had good subjects of study in Jaron and his new friend Lucas.

Lucas smiled and and patted Mizuno on the shoulder. "I'm sure they're fine, Mizuno. It's Gantz and the others, remember?"
Jaron nodded. "No kidding. Heck, they--"
"Are you done with the Brady Bunch Reunion over there?!"
Jaron turned to see that Zero was sticking his head out of the crater to look at them. "Because if you are, I want you to get over here, people."
Jaron glared at him. "Zero? We're kinda in the middle of something here?"
"This is more important."
"How the heck is it more important?!"
"Just grab the creature of the black lagoon and get over here already!"
"His name is Mizuno!"
Lucas and Mizuno looked back and forth between Jaron and Zero as the two of them argued.

They weren't the only ones; Shantotto looked between the two boys herself as they argued, though it was with more a look of bemusement then surprise or distaste. When she noticed where Zero was standing specifically, she decided on a course of action.
"Ah! So you found the Impact Site have you?"
At this, all eyes turned to her. Mizuno's looked especially curious. "The impact site?"
"Yes indeed. The Impact Site, quite the break through!
You see young man, not too long ago, an astral projectile,
Great and mysterious, crashed in the ice, a crash heard for a mile!"
With that said, she approached the crater and looked into it, ignoring Zero all the while.
"Just look inside of it and you tell me gentlemen,
Do you not feel that peculiar energy off and then?
That energy is the most curious discovery in this great crater,
And is evidence not of a meteor, but instead, of something greater."

The argument ceased as soon as Shantotto spoke. Zero rolled his eyes. "About time someone else took notice of the big hole in the ice. Anyway, just so I can ask did any of you see anyone other than me leave the crater?"
"Why do you ask?" asked Lucas as he joined Shantotto at the edge of the crater.
"...no reason."
Jaron walked up to the crater's edge and looked into it. "Huh..."
Without another word he jumped down into it, with Lucas and Mizuno following him.
Once he landed he walked to the center of the crater and crouched, feeling the ice. "...do you feel that?"
Lucas looked around the crater. "Yeah...some weird power's here. Dunno what it is, though..."

Mizuno himself tried to feel at whatever it was Jaron, Zero and Lucas had been talking about, but if anything, he was not a very aura sensitive person. Him trying to feel at the energy might as well have been as effective as someone puching a brick wall. "Feel what? I don't feel anything?" His ears perked a bit in a few directions, trying to feel at what it was he was supposed to be feeling.
As this went on, Shantotto smiled as she took in the energy herself...
In truth, she already KNEW whom's energy this was, but she wasn't going to say to these ruffians.
"Truely a marvel is it not?
A wonder to be truely caught!"
She walked over to the dead center of the hole in the ground, noting it had the biggest energy signature in this entire opening.
"Come here my young and unsightly protoge's,
The cleanest place to sense energy in wide array."

"It's really faint, Mizuno, I can barely feel it myself," Lucas admitted. "Feels familiar, though. Like--"
He paused. "...nah, can't be."
Jaron looked at him quizzically, but didn't press the issue. He returned his attention to the center of the crater, frowning.
I've felt this before... he thought. I just know it. But where?
Meanwhile, Zero tapped Shantotto on the shoulder. "Hey, Short Round, mind if I talk to you for a second?"
"Will you stop calling everyone random names?!" Jaron demanded.
"Well, it's not like I can remember--" Zero started.
Jaron got up and turned to Zero, frustrated. "Okay, first: I'm Jaron, he's Lucas, he's Mizuno, she's Professor Shantotto, and YOU are Zero. Okay? Okay."
He went back to examining the spot.
Zero blinked. ...did I just get denched by that guy?
Edge wisely said nothing.
Zero coughed and turned back to Shantotto. "Okay. Questions. Is that all right with you?"
Jaron stood up and took a deep breath. Okay, Jaron, just think for a minute. WHAT does this place remind you of? A place, a person--
"Lucas?"
"Hmm?"
"What did you say this place reminded you of?"
"Oh, um..." he scratched the back of his head. "You probably don't remember, but...well, I was reminded of someone named Jamie, that's all--"
"The Butterfree boy?"
Lucas blinked. "...you...remember?"
Jaron slowly nodded, a grin forming on his face. "He never talked, but he could turn into a Butterfree. He was a good kid. And--" He turned to Mizuno. "Now that I think about it, I think you were there too! Right?"

Mizuno looked to Lucas and Jaron with an air of confusion. He himself remembered Jamie, he was the only person he knew that was even more shy and withdrawn then he was...
Ah the memories...

"U-um... H-hi there..." The person before Mizuno only shyed away from the introduction, his aeronautics scarf and goggles his most prominent feature. "It's... It's nice to meet you... Um... I... I wanted to talk to you about...."
The young man lifted his head to the fish boy taking him in... In fact, his yellow eyes were borderline soul-piercing as they took in Mizuno's brown ones.....
....... Suddenly, the boy smiled....
A smile that seemed to let Mizuno know all is forgiven.

When Mizuno returned to reality, he took notice a Jaron and Lucas continued chatting...
With Shantotto, she looked to Zero with a curious expression on her face.
"Oh? Do tell young man of questionable morals
What do you wish to ask a professor of such grand laurels?"

Jaron went back to examining the spot. "There's something I don't get, though...how come this energy stuff reminds me of Jamie? You don't think..."
Lucas's eyes widened. "You think Jamie's here?!"
Back with Zero, he leaned forward and stared into Shantotto's eyes.
"Okay, I'm going to ask you this and be honest with me, otherwise I'll have to do terrible things to you. Do you know anyone or have heard of anyone named Kavma Raleigh?"

Shantotto considered this a moment. Had she kept in contact with Gantz or the others more often, perhaps she would have...
As things stand now though?
"Hmmm, Kavma Rayleigh you say my good fussy man?
This is the first I've heard of him, but such is a plan."
At the confused look, she smiled a bit.
"You see child of such questionable origin,
The knowledge you seek is Gaz and friends akin.
I have seen not seen Gaz in almost a year,
Not since his run in with Him, that unstable Queer."
She shrugs.
"As such, no, I do not know anyone known strictly as Kavma Rayleigh,"
.... A grin of curiosity passed Shantotto's face.
"But you have piqued my curiosity, what he would be like in a melee?"

It took a few seconds for Zero to realize what she said.
Naturally, he immediately believed she was lying.
Of course, he doubted that she would tell him anything important anyway, even if he tried to beat the crap out of her. I'll ask the fishman and the fruitcake then.
He turned away from her. "To answer your question," he said curtly, "I don't know. But I will say he has a tendency to ruin lives for his own amusement." He walked to Mizuno and tapped him on the shoulder. "Oi. Fishcake. Quick question."

Mizuno jumped 2 feet into the air at the tap and quickly turned to Zero looking about as timid as timid could be... "Um... Y-yes? Is something the matter m-mr. Zero?.... S-sir?"
As this went on, Shantotto went on with her thinking, her mind now abuzz with activity concerning this information about a man named Kavma Raleigh... She couldn't help but wonder about him knowing that he was apparently a life ruiner....
Hmmm, sounded like kindred spirits to her!
As this went on, the energy in the crater appeared to grow somewhat... The name Jamie seemed to have an odd reaction with the crater. It wasn't anything big or noticeable...
But it almost seemed like the crater recognized that name every bit as much as Lucas and Jaron did...

"You're too skittish," Zero said flatly. "Anyway, Kavma Raleigh. Mean anything?"
Back with Jaron...
"Do you remember anything else? Anything at all?" Lucas asked hopefully. "Max and Kaitlin, maybe...?"
Jaron shook his head. "Sorry. Those names still don't mean anything to me..."
Lucas hung his head, depressed.
"But--"
He looked back up, hopeful.
"I remember..." Jaron frowned and looked away. "...you remember Jin, right?"
Brief silence. Lucas was both surprised and a little uneasy. "Y...yeah. What do you remember about him?"

Mizuno was too preoccupied with Zero to hear the mention of Jin. "Well... I..." He lowered his head. "I... I haven't met Kavma... But... I was an ex-... Experiment in Crystal Room o-o-once..." And boy howdy THAT wasn't a pleasant experience...
The energy of the crater seemed to flash up a little more, also recognizing the name Jin... The energy seemed positive though, as if the trace from Jamie didn't see Jin in a negative light...
That would be typical of Jamie though, the forgiving little guy.

Jaron paused. "Well...he, uh..." he fell silent.
He didn't need to say anything to inform Lucas that yes, he did remember about that...thing with Jin.
BACK WITH ZERO...
Zero frowned. "You were a guinea pig? That goddamn son of a bitch..." He placed a hand on Mizuno's shoulder. "Believe me, kid, I know how you feel. It wasn't with Kavma, sure, but being locked up to be some asshole's science bitch can't be a pleasant experience."
Something caused Jaron to turn around. "Huh? What's--" he trailed off.
A sphere of light had descended into the crater with them, hovering near the crater floor. The sphere seemed to brighten a little as it appeared to notice Jaron.
"What IS that?" Lucas asked, bewildered. He walked towards it, stopping when he saw it move away from him.
Jaron simply stared at it. Just looking at it made him feel...
...well, he wasn't sure what he was feeling.
With some trepidation he walked towards the sphere, his arm outstretched.
"Jaron...?" Lucas was beginning to look worried.
"Do I...know you..." Jaron said quietly.
