A horde of screeching bats descended upon the castle ramparts, gathering into one spot and forming into a man--if one could call it a man.
Dracula breathed in the nighttime air deeply as he examined his surroundings. The castle seemed adequate, if inferior to what he was used to--still, with his powers drained it was the best he could have at the moment. He hoped it had a throne room, at least. Any proper castle should have one.
Of course, the castle could be occupied. That thought didn't bother him much--if it was, he doubted he would meet much resistance.
Unless, of course, the castle was filled with Belmonts, but the odds of that were so unlikely as to be nil
With a sweep of his cape he made for the nearest door inside. Time to take the tour.

Deep in the castle...
"Hh!" A figure clad in a yellow coat-pant combination awoke, panting lightly. He was... alive? "...Enrico... you did well, my greatest servant. Hahaha..." He began slowly getting to his feet, feeling his blood rush through, pulsing again. "...I... DIO... Live again!" He grinned, stretching a bit, before...
"WRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYY!" The vampire leaned back, giving a shout, then laughing. "It feels so good to be among the living again. Hmm... I should figure out where I am. See if there's any blood I can drain..."

Not a single soul in sight. He was somewhat disappointed, to be honest--no people meant no sources of information.
Ah, well. At least he could use this castle as a base of operations until his power returned in full.
As he strolled down a hallway filled with tattered banners, he paused. He thought he had heard a noise...maybe there was someone in the castle after all. He doubled his pace, and upon reaching the doors at the end he threw them open.
Ah, here was the throne room. It was surprisingly intact, as opposed to the aged ruin that was the rest of the building. Even the throne still remained.
"At last, a place to rest my weary feet," Dracula said jokingly as he approached the chair. It was beautifully made, if somewhat faded from age. Slowly, he sat himself down upon it.
Ah, marvelous. It wasn't like his own throne, but this was definitely made for comfort in mind. He crossed his legs and propped up his chin in thought--the classic slouch of villainy.
So far he had yet to encounter a single living soul. He'd be fine with some humans, even--after getting any possible information from them he'd at least be able to take their blood for his own.
In fact, he felt somewhat thirsty. Sooner or later he would have to go get a drink.
There had been a city visible from that mountaintop, after all, and from the look of things when he arrived it was merely a few hours away on foot. Still, a large population center...even he would probably have some minor difficulty if the residents put up resistance, even more so with his powers drained. Things like this took some planning...yes, stealth would be good until he could bring up his minions.

As Dracula went to the throne room, Dio walked through the halls, appraising the castle. The depths were certainly dark enough... he could most definitely use it as a base until he could get some more allies. With his charisma, he didn't figure it would be too difficult.
"Hmm... I need to see what kind of terrain is around this castle. Walking about an area blindly is a useless endeavor... Useless, useless, useless..." He chuckled darkly, thinking. He would not make the same mistakes last time. This time, Jotaro and the others would perish at his hands. His footsteps echoed through the castle, the British vampire getting closer to the main area and throne room of the castle.

The mist that covered the island filled the hallways of the castle as well. Dracula could detect a dark power in it, much like his own. Merely being steeped in it was invigorating; he calculated that his powers would return faster than expected with the help of the mist.
Of course, that begged the question of its origin. This island had too many unknowns; after he had rested he would go out and search for information. The city would be a good place to start.
The sound of footsteps broke him from his train of thought. Someone was approaching the throne room.
"Company," he murmured, "Finally."

Dio could feel the energy from the mist fueling his power as well, the blond chuckling darkly. He could already feel The World's presence returning to him in his mind. Such an intriguing power... it deserved being looked into. Dio blinked as he felt something shift in his coat pocket; he reached in and pulled out an ornate arrow carved from stone. "...The Stand Arrow?" He didn't know why he had it with him; after Enya had used it to awaken his Stand, she sent the others elsewhere and hid the one they kept.
"...Something to look into later." Dio, not breaking stride, pushed open the throne room doors, walking in. "Ahh... seems there's already someone here... a shame."

...what an...interestingly dressed individual. And yet...
"I was hoping that there'd be someone scurrying about in this old ruin," Dracula commented, leveling his gaze upon the intruder. The man appeared human, but he knew that looks deceived. "I hoped you don't mind if I made myself comfortable," he gestured to the throne he lounged in, "as I needed to get my bearings--incidentally, I don't suppose you're the master of this castle? In which case, I apologize for my intrusion."
Classic Dracula, calm and collected yet scheming a million plans in his head. Whoever this man was, he could easily be dangerous. Best to let him say his part before judging the cover of the book.

"Hardly. I'm a visitor, same as you." Dio was thinking much the same about this extremely over-dressed man. Reminded him quite a bit of the styles in vogue when he lived with the Joestars, all that time ago, really.
"Now who might you be? I, Dio Brando, humbly greet you." Of course, Dio's voice was simply dripping sarcasm on the word 'humbly'. Seems that the blond had quite a bit of high thought about himself.

"Dio Brando...interesting name," Dracula replied, the tiniest hint of sarcasm in his voice. "Well, Mr. Brando, I humbly greet you as well."
He sat upright and made a gesture. "My name is Dracula. I have come to this island under...unusual circumstances, shall we say."
If this man didn't know who he was, it would not do to give him any more information than that was strictly necessary.
"But what of you, Mr. Brando?" he continued. "Under what circumstances were you brought here?"

Dio laughed lightly. "Amusingly enough, I could say the same thing. Very unusual circumstances brought me here. So much so, in fact, that I have no idea where I am."
He grinned lightly, the slightest hint of fangs in his teeth as he spoke. "I could also say the same thing about your name, Dracula. As a matter of fact, Count..." Dio chuckled, grinning more widely. "I suppose I could consider you an inspiration of sorts."

"Oh?" he raised an eyebrow. He knew he was a count. Logically people would know of him here, if someone had taken the time to make the island the place where he'd be resurrected. But inspiration? Perhaps...
"An inspiration, you say? Well, doubtless I have inspired many." That wasn't really a lie. "How have I inspired you, Mr. Brando?"
It was then he noticed the fangs.
A vampire? But his skin isn't as pale. A different sort, then?

Dio laughed heartily, clapping twice. "Well, I gained power through your example. A boring life as a human... well, I didn't like that idea. I needed to take vengeance on one who wronged me, and I became a 'creature of the night' as so many love to refer to our kind."
"I must ask, though, as I have always been curious. How did you turn into a vampire?"

Now why did that sound so familiar?
Dracula thinned his lips. "You ask a dangerous question, Mr. Brando."
...
He gave a world-weary sigh. "Suffice it to say I had similar reasons. Nothing more, nothing less."
He cracked a grin, his good humor returning already. "But let's put that aside. You seem to be an interesting fellow, Mr. Brando, and a fellow vampire besides. I know little of this place and its ways, and it seems you're in the same situation." He clasped his hands. "Ordinarily, I must admit that asking others for assistance would be quite beneath me, but as they say, desperation makes for strange bedfellows. What say you? Let us join forces, if only for the time being, so we may get our bearings."
Sometimes Dracula had to trust luck. Gaining a follower in this Brando fellow would be an excellent start.

Dio grinned slightly. "You make a tempting proposition, Count, but I feel it necessary to say that I, Dio, am not a follower. If we are to work together, it will be as equals. Nothing less."
Dio considered that Dracula could be a very useful ally in the future... and a potential powerful follower... he did have the Stand Arrow... perhaps something to try in the future.

He had to admit, he wasn't surprised. This Dio fellow seemed rather strong willed--he wouldn't settle for being a servant. Logically, it would make sense to assume that he would prefer being in charge instead.
This could prove to be problematic, but let it never be said that Dracula faltered before an issue.
"As equals, you say," he murmured, resting his head against his palm. "Regrettably, Mr. Brando, I have a poor history with working with others." He flashed an evil grin. "But even so, perhaps we can work things out. Are we not civil gentlemen and fellow creatures of the night?"
