"Nice to meet you. Glad to see you're doing well," Evan greeted. "Guys?"
Jen stepped forward. "I'm his sister, Jen. This is Darien, and this is Toby." The two aforementioned boys waved awkwardly.
"Our buddy Kendall is around here somewhere, and hopefully Patrick will be showing up soon."

"Swift, Evan's girlfriend," Swift introduced herself. "Kon'nichiwa."
"I'm Aether, and this is Andromeda," Aether said politely. Andromeda smiled and gave the duo a shy wave.

"Nice to meet you all... Wait you guys know Patrick?" Beth asked with a small smile. "I met him a while back. During the really creepy fog thing."
"I still don't like the red one," Chrys commented with a scowl. "He nearly got us both killed by zombies with that freak demon at the cemetery."

"Yeah, Patrick's my roomie," Evan replied.
Chrys's comment filled pretty much everyone with a similar sense of frustration. "Ah, right... Ray." Evan sighed. "Trust me, he gets on everyone's nerves."
"Usually he's not that much of a twit, though," Darien added. "Ray's a bloody rude wanker, yes, but he wouldn't go so far as to just up and kill someone for no real reason. It was probably the curse's effect there."

"I'm really glad I wasn't around for that," Swift mused, ears flat against her head. They perked up again at the mention of a demon. "...Demon? Like a big shadow demon?"

"Yeah. Seemed to be. Called himself Meloncholic," Beth answered. "I have to admit I wasn't in my best form either. I can remember singing several songs. One of them was by Nightwish, Silhouette by Owl City and a others."
Chrys nodded. "I wasn't either."

"Aw, geez," Jen groaned. "Those Præt'nos just can't leave us alone wherever we go, can they?"
"Ee-yeah..." Evan murmured, awkwardly rubbing his neck. He wasn't at all proud of what he had done during the Halloween fiasco, and the farther back he pushed those memories, the better. "B-But let's not spoil the moment. We're here to have fun! Jen, Darien, you guys wanna head up top with me?"
"Not really, but I guess I have to anyway," Darien chuckled.
"Greetings, Earthlings!" called a cheery, familiar voice from above. The group looked to the sky, smiling at what they found.

With Patrick on her back, Ace descended upon the group and made a soft landing in the snow. A playful smirk danced across her face. "Nice of you guys to just walk out on us."
There it was again. That awful scent that just made Swift's hair stand up on end. She tried not to look disturbed by it and jokingly retorted, "Hey, now, Ev left you sleepyheads a note."
"I know, I know," Ace chuckled, tucking away her wings as if partially out of shame. "I'm glad I got the sleep. But we're here now, so let's have some fun!"

Chrys and Beth waved to Patrick.
"Good to see you again Patrick.... Wait I did say the right name?" Beth asked in a confused tone of voice.
Chrys just chuckled. "Nice to meet you again Patrick," she offered. "I was the Dragon thing...."

Patrick slid off of Ace and smiled. "Yep, that's me! Great to see ya, Beth!" He elbowed his accomplice. "This is Ace, newest member of our entourage!"
"Wait, is that my coat?" Jen asked, noticing the familiar coat Ace had on.
"Yeah..." Patrick rubbed his neck. "We didn't think you'd mind."
"Oh, I don't. No big deal." She smirked at Darien. "We were just about to take this whiner for a ride."
"Jen, for the last time, I'm gonna do it," Darien breathed with a light grin.

"Hi there," Ace said to Beth and Chrys. "You guys know Patrick too?"
When Jen informed them that she and Darien were about to hit the slope, Ace turned to them and cheered, "Awesome! Mind if I grab a board and go with?"

"I'm going out on a limb here and say that you and Ace are dating Pat?" Chrys asked as she nodded yes to Ace's question.

"WHAT?!" Patrick yelped. "No! No, no no no no. We just met each other today and I'm helping her settle in. No biggie."
It was impossible to miss the blush on his face.
"Fine by me," Darien agreed to Ace's proposal. "They've got rentals in the lodge, so yeah, be my guest."

"No! N-No..." Ace turned away from the girls, pulling the brim of her hat down over her eyes.
Swift's ear twitched, not just because the foul scent was irritating her. Something was up...
Ace then cleared her throat and asked, "By the way, where's Kendall?"
