"The others.... I can only assume that they were thrown into other paths by the Scratch," she replied solemnly. "We were so close to winning.... but our hope player didn't rise up like he should have and then The Raven- curse that Poe quoting freak- kicked the Scratch off... I got thrown one way... no one behind me that I could see."
Forsaken took a sigh. "The alternate you saw showed bits of me in her last appearance against that body snatching demon. When I came here, her memories and mine intertwined," she offered calmly.

The mention of a body snatching demon instantly clicked in Evan's brain. "Jack..."
Kendall perked up as well, recognizing that name and the few characteristics mentioned of him. Jack was on the island? He escaped Kendall's pocket realm beyond space and time?? How had he not foreseen this?!
Such was not Evan's concern, however. His memories were foggy, to say the least, in regards to the events that took place after Jack was expelled from his head. Thinking clearly was no easy task in his feral state. Whatever Beth had done afterwards was beyond him, but seeing this alternate version gave him some ideas of what she was talking about.
Deciding it best to leave those questions be for now, Evan continued over the buzz of the needle, "So this... Scratch... left you guys scattered. And when you say that your hope player didn't rise up..."

"Correct. Odd thing- I'm the eldest of my session and of the Derse Dreamers," Forsaken replied as she looked over her crystal clawed hands. "You also bit her. But she was asking for it so- no harm really done."
"Said demon is in a hedron puzzle box that I think Rooke is keeping in his care," she offered to Kendall. "Seals come undone more often than not."

Kendall nodded to Forsaken, slightly relieved but still quite concerned about what Jack's presence on the island could entail.
"Wait... I bit her??" Evan choked up.
"Whoa, that's uh... kinda messed up," Noah offered innocently.
"Yes, I'm aware, thank you," Evan grumbled, failing miserably at hiding his humiliation.
"Sorry." Not wanted to worsen the situation, Noah quietly returned to his work.
Shaking off that fact, Evan asked, "So what are you gonna do now? From here, I'm sure you can return to the game, not that I would blame you if that wasn't your intention... At the very least, you could probably find your friends."

"She bit back too. But that's the past and a counterpart's memories," Forsaken sighed. "But I doubt I can return to my session. I know that my team mates-" She cut herself short as some bonds seemed to shorten and one in particular seemed to attempt to reconnect. "Are alive but I know not were to find them. And I highly doubt any wish to see me. I was with my Evan in his last minutes..."

"Oh..." Evan would've sunk lower into his seat, but the needle in his arm prevented him from doing so. All he could do was hang his head slightly. "That's, uh... That's really rough." His voice was low and heavy, full of nothing but sadness and sincerity.
"I... I dunno what to say, I mean..." Evan wracked his brain for something positive, but he just couldn't think of anything. "Th-There has to be some way to fix this. If... If I could help somehow..."
Kendall sadly watched Evan. Should he say something or should he just let this play out...?

"That is a risky en devour. Heck I don't even know if you and him are linked," she replied flatly. "Sorry you have to hear this sir."

"S'alright," Noah politely offered. "Say whatcha need to, y'know?"
Evan shrugged his free shoulder and sighed. "Still, I wish I knew how to make things better. If we are linked, I certainly haven't seen or felt any evidence... of..."
He trailed off, memories of his dream returning to him. That world of light, that gate, that voice that vaguely resembled Kendall's... He still had no idea what any of it meant, but was there any possibility that they had something to do with his fallen counterpart?
"If... If, per se, you did return... if you and the other players continued... how would the session play out from this point on?"

"I don't know," Forsaken replied calmly. "Hope would have to rise and honestly I don't want to deal with the consequences if this Evan isn't linked."

Evan mulled this over, sparing a quick glance at Noah and the -thus far, minimal- progress on his tattoo. Then he looked up at Kendall; predictably, the angel's expression was pretty much unreadable, though there was his typical empathy in his somber frown.
Considering their friendship, Kendall's presence on this day shouldn't have surprised Evan. But no. This all seemed way too coincidental, and those who knew Kendall best knew that he did not believe in coincidences. He was here for a reason. This alternate Beth was here for a reason. These three had been brought together for a big, big reason.
Kendall had to know what was going on and what was going to happen. Was this his intent? Was this Evan's destiny?
He turned back to Forsaken. "Do you absolutely need all the players to complete your session?"

"It would be preferred but all that is needed is the return of hope to fix the session," Forsaken answered. "So Evan. See any cities in your dreams?"

Evan tried to hide his shock, but his wide eyes blatantly gave it away. "Um... I-I'm not sure what I've been dreaming about lately. It's all too hazy for me to remember clearly. All I can remember is a light... and a locked gate. I mean, I can kinda see some shapes in the background that kinda look like buildings, but..."

"What color is the world you see?" Forsaken asked as she gave a ghost of a smile. 'This might work after all,' she thought.

Watching Forsaken, Kendall smiled a tiny bit, noting the encouragement she was starting to show.
"Well..." Evan rubbed his neck; he wasn't sure why he was suddenly feeling so antsy, but he decided to blame that on the needle. "Like I said, it was pretty fuzzy and really bright. Lots of whites and yellows..."

She chuckled. "Prospit. You were in Prospit. IF it had been purples and blacks- that would have been the world of Derse," she offered. "You're linked to him alright."
