Forsaken nodded. "Your counterpart died by my side. As far as I know, you never have," she offered with a hope of reassuring her new friend.

Evan nodded again, trying to smile but only turning up a half-hearted, lopsided smirk. No, he had never died, and even if he accepted that it could and would happen eventually, he could only pray that the worst case scenario would not happen to him.
He looked up at his friends again. "Well... Whatever the case... Like I said, I guess I'll just have to try."
Kendall offered his part with a sincere grin. "Don't you worry about a thing, Evan. Everything will work out in the end.
Evan fixed his smile into a much more optimistic one. If Kendall said it, it had to be true.

Forsaken nodded before watching Noah work.

"So... wow. We're doing this," Evan chuckled, still kind of stymied by the events taking place.
"I guess so," Kendall laughed with him. "All that's left to do now is wait."
"Wait? For what?"
"For... you know..." Kendall awkwardly gestured to Noah.
"OH! Oh, right!" Evan snickered again. He still needed his tattoo; that had been his big deal about today up until now.

Forsaken chuckled. 'A good kid. Shame for what may happen,' she thought in the furthest recesses of her mind.

Kendall looked between Evan and Forsaken. He might've known what was to come, but that didn't change the fact that this would be no easy endeavor. He of course had no doubts in Evan, and he had every intent to stand by him through his journey. But God help them, this would not be easy...
For now, Evan was content to remain bliss. Certainly not ignorantly so, but at least to a point of not worrying about the near future. He had agreed to this, and he stood by his decision, just as he was certain his friends would once they were caught up. He was confident in his and his friends' beliefs. And as he sat there, enduring the needle pushing ink into his epidermis, he told himself over and over that no matter what happened, he would make the most of it and do everything he could to make things right. This would work. It had to.
Evan smiled. There was always hope. And sometimes, that's all one needed.

Forsaken gave a weak but honest smile. She knew what was ahead and dreaded it but she welcomed what may come.
