"Uh-uh, sorry, hon, not workin' for me.
"Cuuuute!
"Uhh, you tacky slut!"
Swift laughed at her own back-and-forth dialogue as she gave valley girl voices to the mannequins displaying the latest fashion trends. Then she continued on her way through the department store, aimlessly browsing the racks as she waited for her accomplices.
"Hey Swift!" One of them approached her soon enough. "Whadya think?"
She turned around to see Ace sporting a red, tiered, sparkly tank top and instantly responded with a genuine squee. "Oh, that's so cute! We gotta show Patrick that one!"
"Thanks! Where'd he and Darien get to anyway?"
"I think they're looking for an Apple store or something. But come on, let's find Jen!" Swift giggled as she and Ace headed deeper into the women's section.

Jen had been sorting through designer jeans when her cell phone buzzed in her purse. She pulled it out, discovering a text message from Evan that was apparently also sent to Swift.
>>On my way! Kendall and another friend tagged along. Do we have a LOT to tell ya! (Was gonna send a pic of the tat, but I decided to surprise ya. XD)
With a light chuckle, Jen replied to his text with everyone's locations in the mall. Then she put her phone away and resumed her quiet browsing.

Swift quickly approached Jen with Ace by her side and her phone in her hand, clear evidence that she had read the group text as well. "Hey Jen! Evan and Kendall are coming!!"
"Ooh, whatcha looking at?" Ace inquired, leaning in to both study the various jeans that Jen was inspecting and show her the top she had on herself.

"Just looking for some new jeans," Jen replied, beaming at the sight of Ace's tank top. "Aw, that's so pretty, Ace!"

"Alright, so Swift, Jen and Ace are at Kohl's, Pat and Darien are at Apple, and Andy and Aether are at Bath and Body," Evan listed aloud from Jen's text as he held the mall doors open for his companions. "I guess we'll pick up my lady and my sister first, if that's alright with you guys."
"Fine by me," Kendall responded politely.

Forsaken nodded. "They've made some great repairs to this joint from what Cat did to it," she noted as she surfed in on the rune covered cube.

"Aw, thanks!" Ace chuckled. "Speaking of, I probably outghta take it off to pay for it. Excuse me..." She then turned and made her way back to the changing room.
Swift nodded to Ace and leaned towards Jen, smiling in her typical giddy fashion. "So, ready to see your little brother's tattoo?"

"Ready as I'll ever be," Jen snickered, letting out an amused sigh. "He's been wanting this for so long... and judging by the text, he must be pretty happy with it!"

And happy he was. Evan led Kendall and Forsaken through Kohl's, walking tall with pep in his step on the wings of a buckeye-carrying dove. He had to laugh at Forsaken's comment about Cat. That sounded like something she would do, and Evan would know; he was one of her creators, after all.
He certainly had a lot of enthusiasm. Probably a good thing, considering the news to come.
Upon making his way into the women's section, spotting his girlfriend was a cinch. He could find those ears and hat in any crowd. "Swift! Jen!"

Forsaken hung back slightly. Her role at the current moment was more like that of a Watcher than that of an active player.

Swift perked up even before she heard her name. She'd know that scent a mile away. "EVAN!"
She charged over to her boyfriend, meeting him halfway and throwing her arms around him. "Hey, handsome!" She then just as quickly pulled away, wide eyes trained on his arm. "C'mon, let's see it!"

"Ha-hey!" Evan laughed, finding himself in a bit too tight of a spot to hug back.
Jen hastily followed Swift, simply giving her brother an awkward wave as Swift hugged him and a nod when Swift insisted he show off for them. Once free to do so, Evan smirked at the girls and turned to fully show them the dove and buckeye branch embedded into his upper left arm. "Not too shabby, huh?"
"Very cool..." Jen mused. "How was it?"
"Not bad, honestly. Had some company."
In response to this, Jen looked up at the two accompanying Evan, waving to one in particular. "Hey, Kendall!"
"Hi, Jen!" the angel cheerfully replied.
"And, uh..." Jen then turned to Forsaken, maintaining a polite attitude. "Hello. I'm sorry, I'm not sure we've met..."

"I don't think I've had that pleasure of meeting all of Evan's family and friends," Forsaken offered as the cube let her jump off onto the floor. She offered a crystal coated hand. "Name's Forsaken," she offered calmly.

"EEEEEEE! SO COOL!" Swift squealed. "Aw, you look so sexy I just wanna...!" Her hands were shaking and she was pretty much bouncing around Evan. Nothing more really needed to be said.
She did eventually calm down enough to greet the rest of Evan's party. "Good to see ya, Kenny! And it's nice to meet you, Forsaken!"

"Much gratitude," Evan chuckled, very proud of his tattoo.
"It's good to see you too, Swift!" Kendall laughed, simultaneously amused and unnerved by Swift's overenthusiasm.
"So!" Jen decided to break the ice on the matter. "You had something you needed to tell us?"
"Uh, yeah..." Evan awkwardly rubbed his neck. "Was kinda hoping we could get everyone together to talk it over."
"I guess we are due for a lunch break, huh?"

"Right right!" One step ahead of them, Swift whirled around and moseyed through the store. "Gotta catch up with Ace! She has a few purchases to make!"
Sure enough, dressed once again in her usual striped shirt and green jacket, Ace was already at the front counter, in the process of paying for her new clothes. She looked up and quickly waved at the approaching group before getting back to her business.
