Evan nodded and went along with his female companions, motioning for Kendall and Forsaken to follow suit. Knowing the drama to come, he figured he might as well attempt small talk in the meantime to lighten the mood. "So, how's you guys' morning been so far?"
"Pretty good," Jen answered. "I did find a nice jacket, but I haven't bought anything yet."
"What, no dresses?" Evan joked.
"Not sure when I'll ever need one," Jen chuckled with him. "Darien and I were considering checking out the armory later."
"Sounds very romantic."
Kendall smiled at the siblings' playful banter. It was nice to see such lightheartedness. At least for now.

Swift took a moment to text Andromeda, asking her and Aether to meet them in the food court. Once she was checked out, Ace threw her shopping bags over her shoulder and joined the others. "Hey guys! Hey Kendall!"
"Hey! All set?" Swift chimed as she put her phone away.
"All set!"
"Alright! Let's grab a bite! The rest of the gang is gonna meet up with us. Evan's got something to share. Besides... y'know!"
"Aw, yeah," Ace chided, nodding with approval at Evan's tattoo. "Very nice, Keymaster."

"Yeah. Always looking for more ammo and variety in combat," Jen cheerfully replied to Forsaken.
"Hi, Ace!" Kendall beamed at his old friend, always happy to see her happy.
"Thank you kindly," Evan chuckled before pulling out his own phone and texting Patrick and Darien. Then he grinned and said, "Well, let's get a move on, then!" as he led his companions out of the store and into the mall atrium.

"Right-o!" Swift cheered as she followed Evan, clinging to his arm and beaming from ear to ear.
Ace hung back with Kendall, nodding a greeting to Forsaken before asking her fellow angel, "So what brings you here?"

Evan smiled right back at his sweetheart and playfully elbowed her as they walked along.
"Oh, am I not allowed to have a social life and spend time with my friends?" Kendall snickered, his teasingly sarcastic tone oddly uncharacteristic of the mild-mannered angel.
"Wow. I don't think I've ever actually heard you make a joke, Kenny," Jen offered, genuinely surprised.
Kendall chuckled awkwardly, which of course was in character for him. "In all seriousness, though, I do have something on my mind. But, you know, once everyone gets here..."

Forsaken gave a soft sigh. 'I hope that the others won't hate me for what may come and what will....' she thought with an emotionless face.

A few minutes later, everyone was seated at a table with their lunch of choice (if they chose any at all). Swift was enjoying her Chick-fil-a sandwich when her alien roommates finally arrived, whom she waved at and tried to call to through her mouthful of chicken.
"Hello, all!" Aether greeted the group, with Andromeda merely offering a shy wave with the hand that wasn't holding her Bath and Body shopping bag. "How have your outings been thus far?"
"Fantastic!" Swift answered loudly, thankfully after swallowing.
"Yeah, it's been great," Ace picked up. "Got some new tops and a really cute hat."

"Hey, ladies," Evan greeted them. "Got the tat. And it is good."
"AYO!" Soon enough, Patrick and Darien arrived on the scene, the former in particular springing at the chance to see his buddy's updated appearance. "Evan! You got it, man!"
"That I did!" Evan said, holding his arm up again. "You guys doing alright?"
"No less than usual," Darien chuckled half-sarcastically, nodding once to Jen.
She nodded right back to her boyfriend before addressing the group as a whole. "Well, looks like everyone's here. You guys can grab a bite if you want, then apparently we have much to discuss."
"Can do!" Patrick cheered before turning and making his way towards the nearest pizza vendor.

Forsaken sat quietly on her cube with a chocolate frosty in one hand and a spoon hanging from her mouth as she waved to the newcomers.

Taking up Jen's advice, Andromeda and Aether excused themselves and returned a few minutes later, the former carrying a salad.
Swift smiled at everyone around her, curious to know what this big, important announcement was.
Ace took a drink of soda and gazed at Kendall out of the corner of her eye, finding herself questioning what was going on in that foreknowledge-packed head of his.

Darien just sat down with Jen; he wasn't particularly hungry. Patrick was already eating his meat-lover's pizza in his walk back as his inner Brit did the talking.
Patrick, that was rather rude. You didn't even say hello to anyone else, Van chastised.
"Thowwy," Patrick muttered through his mouthful of pizza.
Did you even notice Beth sitting with them?
"Mm!" Upon his return, he wiped his mouth off with his arm and said, "Hey, guys! Hey, Beth! How it is?!"

Forsaken sighed. "It's Forsaken. Not Beth. I'm a counterpart to the Beth you knew and I'm well aware of what you three did during the last Fog Fall," she offered as she put the spoon back in the frosty for more. "I have her memories from when I came here."
