Ace once again blocked Evan's strike, dodging once and striking him in the arms the second time, her grip on her staffs firm and unwavering. He was really going at her full-force, and she knew she had to do whatever it took to defend herself and stop him, but at the same time, she had to take precautions so as not to seriously injure him. Animal mentality or not, Evan was still her friend.
"Evan!" Ace shouted as she kept him at bay with her staffs. "If you can understand me, I don't wanna hurt you! I need you to calm down!"

Evan pushed himself against Ace's staffs, trying desperately to reach past them and shred her torso open. Spittle spewed from his mouth with every screech and roar. His eyes blazed with fury. Clearly, words alone would not be enough to calm this beast.
And somehow, Patrick was still sleeping through all this commotion. Very soundly, at that. He was pretty worn out, after all. But eventually, something did wake him up. Something startling and jarring, a revelation that could not be ignored. An unsettling feeling deep in his gut that told him something was horribly wrong and he needed to spring into action NOW.
In a split second, Patrick was wide awake and sitting up in bed. "I HAVE TO PEE!"
He then leaped off the bed and bolted out the door, speeding down the hall and into the bathroom, slamming the door behind him. He never even noticed the two strange people brawling in the living room.

Ace continued to fight back against Evan's advances, hoping to at least pin him down. She didn't want to resort to using her powers on him, but it was quickly getting obvious that it might be inevitable.
Then she heard the door slam, nearly jumping out of her skin like a startled rabbit. Without thinking too hard about it, Ace tackled Evan –at least thinking clearly enough to keep those fangs of his away from her neck– and charged up the particles in the air around her to strike them both with a stunning burst of electricity. And yet somehow, as he raced to the bathroom, Patrick didn't seem to notice a thing.
Alone with Evan again, Ace stood over him with one foot on his chest and a staff pressing against the underside of his chin. As she forced his jaw to stay locked, she raised her other hand and manipulated the cells in his lips to knit together, quite literally sewing his mouth shut.
"Sorry," she whispered. "You're leaving me with no choice here..."

Evan screeched with pain and fury as Ace unexpectedly tackled and electrocuted him, and soon enough he found himself sprawled out on the floor, too disoriented to do much besides twitch and writhe beneath the pressure he was held under. Then, much to his shock and unbridled anger, he felt the skin around his mouth sealing, forcibly closing until he was unable to even separate his upper and lower lips. All he could do was utter muffled growls and screams as he continued his desperate bid at freedom.
Can't bite! Can't move! Can't breathe! Can'T FIghT!! NeEd HELP! CAN'T DIE! MUST DESTROY! MUST WIN!!
All the while, in the bathroom, as Patrick tended to his bodily needs, sighing with relief a bit louder than necessary, Van decided to speak up...
Patrick, there seems to be a bit of commotion out there, if you haven't noticed!
He hasn't, Ray grumbled. He's kinda retarded like that.
Excuse me, there's no need for that kind of talk! Van protested, offended for Patrick's sake. He then returned to the topic at hand. Evan must've woken up!
"Oh." Patrick mulled this over before the gravity of the situation finally hit him mid hand wash. "Oh darn!"
And it sounds like someone beat us to the punch... Ray added.

Ace held Evan down as best she could, listening anxiously to Patrick's outburst in the bathroom. Her only choices now where to escape alone, escape with Evan, or stay here and let Patrick see the both of them. All of them had their consequences, but of course the best option was to stay so she could figure out what was wrong with Evan and possibly help Patrick fix it, even if it meant exposing her current form in all its shame.
She took a deep breath. No more hiding. Patrick loved her. Surely he'd understand.
"Patrick!" she shouted, increasing her foot's pressure on Evan. "It's me! I could use some help out here!"

Patrick jumped slightly. "Ace?!" he quickly finished drying his hands and charged at the door. "Ace, hold on! Here comes me!"
The bathroom door flung open and Patrick leaped into the living room. "Evan! Evan, calm down! You- EEP!!!"
He just as quickly froze when he finally saw what was going on. Ace had Evan pinned down as he continued to flail about and scratch at her leg, his cries of rage mere grunts through his forcibly closed mouth. But Ace was... She... Patrick could hardly fathom what he was seeing when it came to her alone. Her eyes, those horns... her wings...
"A-Ace...?"
Finally, Evan found the strength to dig his claws into Ace's calf and fling her off. He was just about to pounce when Patrick through his hands up. "EVAN NO!"
A bright burst of blue light threw Evan against the couch, pinning him down and leaving him trapped between the solid and ethereal surfaces even after Patrick lowered his arms. The feral man thrashed about, trying desperately to express his fury through screams that his mouth would not comply with.
Patrick ran up to Ace, worriedly looking her over. "A-Are you alright??" It didn't sound like he was questioning her current, transformed state, but any injuries she might acquired from Evan.

Ace swallowed hard at Patrick's initial reaction, leaving her weak enough in the knees for Evan to knock her down. She barely had any time to react before he was upon her again, but fortunately Patrick knocked him off and secured him in a binding spell just in time.
As she watched Evan writhed about on the couch, Ace curled up on the floor, too scared to face her lover. She could sense him standing over her, and when he asked her if she was alright, it sounded to her like a genuine concern and not a question regarding her current form. Awkwardly Ace looked up at Patrick, shame and sadness in her dark, demonic eyes. "Y-Yeah... I'm fine. Thanks."
She sat up and inched away from the boys, keeping her gaze on the floor.

Evan was pretty much restrained; no need to worry about him until it was time to study his mind again. For now, Patrick knelt down in front of Ace. His expression might've betrayed nervousness, but more than that, he just seemed... sad. And scared. More so for her wellbeing than anything else.
"Ace... This... This fog..." he murmured. "It's affected everyone. Even Van, Ray and me. Trust me, I've seen plenty of scary stuff tonight. At least I know you're still you."

Even if his words were comforting, Ace still couldn't bring herself to look up at Patrick. "I... Th-Thank you... I just..." She curled up and rested her chin on her knees. "It's just... scary, y'know? Becoming the very thing I always worried I would become if I couldn't earn redemption..."

"No... No you're not..." Patrick gently insisted, scooting closer to Ace and resting his hand on her arm.
Maybe not physically, Ray offered. I mean, truth be told, she is a bit of an eyesore...
That doesn't matter, Ray! Van snapped. Ace is still clearly her normal self regardless of this curse! And considering how sensitive she is to it, would it kill you to show a little respect?
Oh, you'd like that, wouldn't you?
Patrick did his best to block his inner voices out and continue his words of encouragement. "It's only a temporary thing. This doesn't mean you really are a demon. And no matter how you look, at least you're aware of yourself. At least you know this isn't who you really are." He smiled a little. "For what it's worth... you have no idea how happy I am to see you."

Ace didn't say anything, though she finally willed herself to slowly, gently bring her gaze up to Patrick. When he showed no sign that his words were empty promises, she smiled back at him. She hadn't realized just how much she missed him too.
Her attention suddenly shifted to Evan as she took on a slightly more serious tone. "Maybe we should focus on the current issue at hand..."

"Yeah, about that..." At Ace's insistence, Patrick's focus returned to Evan as well as the latter continued struggling against his bonds and actually started to tear open his sealed mouth. "I don't know why he's like this! I mean, Darien going wolf and Toby going demon were a given, but Evan... he's been wigging out like this ever since some friends and I saved him from a demon that was possessing him. Van was going to study his mind to see if we can figure it out... but I was pretty tired when we got back... lots of fights lately... and..."

The moment Patrick mentioned a demon, Ace spaced out, staring wide-eyed at Evan and immediately assuming the worst. But... no. It couldn't have been... There were plenty of demons capable of possession. The odds of it being him were... well...
"Evan... was... possessed? By a demon??" Ace cut in.

Patrick frowned in contempt for his recently defeated foe. "Yeah, some douche by the name of Jack. With his freakin' rhymes and hat and cane and taking over my friends' bodies and destroying stuff and..."
He continued to mutter complaints about Jack, blissfully unaware of what was going through Ace's head.

JACK?
No... It couldn't have been... It's just couldn't have been! But Patrick's description fit perfectly. His rhymes, his attire, his behavior... But it COULDN'T have been!
Jack Trades.
Here.
On Dimensional Island.
No.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!
Ace stood up, shaking and panting, pacing around in a panicked circle. This was bad. This was worse than bad. Things were bad enough already. Now the final disaster had struck and her world was coming to an end. Everything she had worked for, all the twists and turns her life had taken, the journey for redemption she had been on for so long... and after all of that, her past had finally returned to haunt her.
She went rigid and stared down at Patrick, eyes wide and on the brink of madness. "Where is he? Where's Jack now?!"
