The boys stepped back out shortly thereafter, the process of clothing Evan proving to be surprisingly easy. It was almost as if he was accustomed to having his superiors strap stuff onto him.
When they regrouped with Ace, Patrick still looked like his normal self, even more so now that he had substantially lightened up. Evan was still down on all fours with an expression of perpetual angst; the only articles of clothing he had on were jeans and a blue tee-shirt that bore a sunglasses-wearing Ghostbusters logo.
"Okay..." Patrick smiled awkwardly and raised his hands in defense. "I swear this is the only time I'll take advantage of my power, but... I got him the shirt for Christmas and he never wears it!"
Evan raised his arm and sniffed the fabric of his shirt sleeve, looking more confused by it than anything else.

Ace chuckled once, mostly in an attempt to humor him. "Fair enough, I guess. Rather be stuck with a Ghostbuster than Captain Underpants."
She stepped over to them, taking another deep breath. "So... we ready to go?"

"Ready to go!" Patrick cheered back before marching towards the apartment door with bold purpose. "C'mon! There's plenty to explore and plenty of frights to come!"
Evan obediently followed his master. Though he didn't know what the plan was, he was nonetheless compelled to answer to Patrick... and deep down, even though he had been fooled into submitting to a new alpha, his intents were still very much the same.
Must follow... Must go... Must be one... We go... We hunt... We survive... We KILL... ToGetHEr...

Ace watched Evan for a moment, then followed Patrick. Before stepping out the door, she gingerly touched her forehead where those infernal horns were attempting to sprout; in their initial brawl, Evan had scratched her face, opening one of the gashes wider so that both horns were at least partially developed and visible, a revelation that made her stomach churn.
She swallowed hard, hesitating in the open doorway. All those long hours of hiding her disgraceful form, only to finally throw caution to the wind and mingle with the other freaks and demons that roamed the island. If anything, she was comforted knowing Patrick was by her side... but quality time with her sweetheart seemed like an impossibility so long as they had Evan to look after.
So just to recap, Ace, in an increasingly demonic form, was venturing out into a cursed, monster-infested island with her multi-personalitied boyfriend and a young man who believed he was a wolf. And to top it off, it once again crossed her mind that her demon ex-boyfriend had inexplicably returned and was in her current boyfriend's custody. There was so much that could go wrong, so why was she doing this?
Oh yeah. Because it sounded fun.
Ace took a deep breath and exited the apartment, locking the door behind her. She had seen plenty of scary stuff in the last few hours alone. She could handle whatever else this curse could throw at her.
