"Let's go further in. That storm doesn't look to friendly," she offered weakly.

Seeing Crona veer towards the cave's mouth, the dragon leaned down and motioned to the cave's interior with its snout, as if to politely usher them back inside. But while Crona and Forsaken retreated deeper inward, the dragon stayed where it was, staring out into the mountainous landscape with an inquisitive glint in its eyes.
Something about this storm seemed... unnatural. Artificial. Dare it call it completely spontaneous yet somehow deliberate.
Almost as though... something other than mother nature was causing it.

(OOC: is this forshadowing, or is my Sprite going to be showing up? XD)
Crona heard it snort, rushing inside. "What about you?" Crona asked, unsure if the dragon could take the chill out there. They weren't an expert, but reptiles weren't good in the cold.

"That can't be good for you friend. Come on. You too," Forsaken weakly offered. The cold was getting to her as she shivered.

"Please..." the dragon gently spoke, its sudden use of verbal communication startling even to its own ears.
Before it said anything else, the dragon ran outside, vanishing briefly and returning with an uprooted tree in its grasp. It took a moment to rip the tree apart, stripping away the damp bark and frost-covered needles until it had a decent-sized pile of dry kindling, which it pushed closer to Forsaken and Crona. Then it struck the kindling with a concentrated burst of lightning breath, the exchange of energy igniting the wood and bringing to life a decent-sized fire.
"Something is out there," the dragon continued, staring down at Forsaken with a worried, almost paternal expression. "I must investigate, but I will do it alone. Just please... promise me... you will be here when I return."
(A/N: Foreshadowing, I guess. I'll start a new thread with a certain someone for this, but once things escalate... feel free to not have them listen. XD)

Crona wasn't sure what to make of this sudden change of plan or action, but... "Madame?" they asked, looking to Forsaken.

"We'll wait up for you. Just be safe, please? I don't want to lose a friend," Forsaken replied seeing the dragon had already made up his mind.

The dragon nodded solemnly. "Thank you."
It exchanged one last, deep, grateful expression with Forsaken, then it turned, charged out of the cave and took off flying into the blustery night.
(A/N: If you guys wanna have them chat for a while, given that Forsaken and Paul the dragon had their turn, feel free. I'll pop back in here when things get out of hand in the thread Swift and I will start.)

Crona quietly sat in the cave, huddling together by the fire that was crafted. "...Something must be wrong," Crona sighed, looking at the cave. "Like there's something he's trying to protect us from."

Forsaken nodded. "I fear this island may have more trouble a head," she offered.

"More Trouble?" Crona asked. They looked toward the fireplace in thought, piecing things together. They distinctly remembered that strange mist blanketing the island before, and also remembered fighting off some psychotic, organ slime monster as well. It seemed likely that far more dangerous things were lurking in the island at the moment...
Very dangerous things...
"We may not be safe wherever we go," they offered.

"I fear that you are right, my friend. I am Forsaken," she offered as she looked to the outside. "Should we go help our friend?"

Crona looked confused. "Of course, anything for my mistress," they offered, getting up. "Plus, it's better a friend not be harmed out there in the cold..."

"How well can you fly?" she asked before hovering slightly.

Ragnarok burst from Crona's back, shifting into dragon form very quickly. "Flight's not an issue," Ragnarok smiled. "Alright, which way are we going, master?"
