.... Alex chuckled, which was an encouraging motion by itself. "I'd like that. Meeting the rest of your team would be an honor and a joy~." That was SLIGHTLY less so, but meh, step in the right direction.
Once they were in line at the Ice-cream stand, Alex thought a bit more about what to say next. "Okay here's a simpler one. Which came first? The Chicken or the egg?"

Yang raised an eyebrow. "Isn't that question in and of itself a paradox? You need an egg to get a chicken and a chicken to get an egg?" she shot back with a small smirk.

Alex could barely contain his chuckling. "Yeah, I know~. Good on you for catching that. Not a lot of people do~." YES THEY DO. DON'T LIE SON.
Once they had their ice-cream, the two were sat down in the sitting area, Alex enjoying a single dip sherber in a waffle cone. "... You know, I just now realized. I know a lot of different stuff about the island by far, but there's one story I've yet to learn." He looks at Yang as he took another lick of his ice-cream. "How did you first find yourself on this island Yang? What were you up to before? And probably the one part I REALLY want to know... How did you meet Todd and start living with him~?" He grinned a bit, actually looking eager to learn this.

Yang took a lick of her double scoop of chocolate ice cream. "The events of the episode Breach just happened and my team got stuck in detention in the library... I had gotten up to go get a book for a report Goodwitch assigned and got swallowed by a portal before I could scream," Yang offered as an answer to the first pair of questions. "As for how I met Todd... I tried pick-pocketing him after my first Fog. Sadly that stuff took up my first month on the island.... any money I had was in my school bag back at Beacon... The next time he found me I was hiding in the entrance of the Hotel... He asked if I needed a place to live and I said yes. He helped me find a part time job after a month in. I've been with the guy ever since."

Hmmm.... The Breach... Yeah, he recognized the title. That had been the big battle episode with all of the Grimm infiltrating Beacon. A lot of other teams came to RWBY's assitance as he recalled. Team CFVY ESPECIALLY came to mind...
Her First fog... Implying that the latest one had not been her first... Okay she alerted him to the fog so maybe the one they had to suffer through together was her second? No wait, maybe her third? She implied she hadn't met Todd at all until after her first time in the fog and Todd was aware of her other form. Really... It was hard to tell... For her sake, he hoped it had only been her third time... The fog had not been easy to deal with at all after all..... And then of course came the story of how she first met Todd...
Wow... Todd had actually done a whole lot to help her out. Helped her settle in, helped her find work.....
"Heh... Sounds like you owe him quite a bit~. You have a really good brother figure looking out for you."

Yang nodded and licked her ice cream again. "More than he knows...." she offered.

Alex looked at Yang oddly... However he decided not to press the issue. Instead, he smiled and licked some more of his ice cream. "Okay so here's another question. SBURB is a very dangerous game, one that's, often enough, tough to talk about."
He looks to her curiously. "Now obviously he's told you some about the God-tier stuff but has he ever told you about anything else about the game?"

Yang smirked and licked her cone. "Only if I ever found myself possessing a the disks to play.... to destroy them. He hasn't told me much other than that and that the game is painful," she answered.

Todd had good instincts in that case. Though... WOULD crushing the game have changed anything-? Well... He had the power now, he supposed he could test it if he wanted to...... NO NOT REALLY, THAT JUST SOUNDS STUPID. Still... "You have good instincts there... Though, maybe don't smash it?" That got an odd look out of her. "More because we have no idea HOW we can cancel out the game if it actually DOES reappear again. Smashing the disk might do more harm then good. If you DO happen to come across something like that however, you should DEFINITELY let me, Todd, or the other god-tiers know."
He takes another lick of ice-cream. "Still, that's comforting to hear. Participating in the game was utterly debilitating. Explaining it would be just as much so." He looks to her simply, smiling a bit. "Still, if we're talking about anything other then THAT. You have any questions for me?" The subject was definitely dropped now and Alex left the floor open for Yang to ask questions.

"Have you ever been in love?" she asked before getting an odd look from the ninja sitting across from her.

...................... ...................... Wut.
..... It took Alex a moment to properly absorb what Yang had just asked... Even longer to absorb the fact that she had asked it a certain way. He wouldn't be able to talk his way out of this one... What could he tell her? .... What couldn't he tell her? ....
He supposed whatever he told her... It would have to be sincere.
..... "... I have. Yes." Yang likely looked a little despondent at this. "But uh... It wasn't really anything all that meaningful in the long run."
?
He cleared his throat and took a bite of his cone. "... You see. I was... One of those kinds. One that would... Fall in love pretty easily." he said with a blush. "You see. I knew a bunch of people through long distance communication. My first crush was a girl I met online once before, then met in real life at least twice sometime after. We even went to a convention together." He looked away. "Then there was this other girl. Someone I met via a forum, someone who would do good things for others without needing to be asked. Someone that just made herself sound quite adorable~. I... Never got to meet her face-to-face though. Even if the game hadn't snuffed out her life, I doubt I would've met her since she lived in another country... And you know what they say about 'Long Distance relationships'." He snorts. "SNRK-!! Look at me. Even assuming either of those times was anything CLOSE to a relationship."
...........
He sighs and takes another lick of his ice-cream. "Heh... Sad. Right? To feel so strongly about someone you've never met face-to-face? Someone you'd never have a chance with? .... Putting it simply... No Yang... I haven't... But it wasn't from lack of trying... Actually it's kinda funny looking back on it... I was always looking out into the distance for someone to hold onto, as opposed to somewhere concievably closer and more realistic."
So... He was someone that hadn't known the full feeling of love like she implied...
But it certainly sounded like he wished to.

Yang bit her lip and thought. "Maybe the distance isn't so far this time?" she asked. It was obvious she was fishing for information now.

...............
He looks to her.....
.........
".... Perhaps..." He ate some more of his cone. "With my new powers, there's decidedly very little I CAN'T do..." He notes her look, looking a bit annoyed at the redirection...
.......
"With everything I can do... There's no reason for me to not consider my options. Particularly those right in front of me."
It was vague. He didn't outright say it...
But...
Something about his tone. There was an implication...
-----------------
The two had finished their ice-cream cones and had moved on to the next shop at the mall... As they walked however, the air didn't feel quite as tense. Alex was keeping pace next to Yang as opposed to walking faster then her as he had done 3 different times during this trip. He wasn't taking her hand, but his smile and his slightly red face was notable. "... Yang..."
?
..........
"..... Heh... Out of literally anyone else... Why choose me?"

Yang gave a soft smile. "It's hard to explain... but being with you gives me the same spark that I have when adventuring and seeing the world... Great now I sound cheesy...." the girl offered.

...............
".... You..."
? She looks to him, taking in that expression of his from the side. The expression of a young man lost, confused, yet knowing the way to traverse now. The road ahead looked uncertain, and he, in turn, was just as uncertain. "... Yang... You do realize that.... That there's always going to be some level of uncertainty. Even now I can't really promise I won't make things weird or, god-forbid, sane."
... She felt the top of his hand on hers. Whether it touched by accident as he fell in step with her, or on purpose was uncertain...
"I... Things are, likely NEVER going to be simple around me."
She could see his breathing becoming uneven, a kind of wanting in his eyes, even if he wouldn't directly show that weakness to her. He had no idea if this could work, or even if he wanted this to work.
All he knew was he wanted to try.
And who better with, then the one person that he COULDN'T scare away? The one person that could survive his powers if turned against them? ... The first new person he met on this island?
